I Want You

In this evening evening, Langit drove the carl with medium speed, and it parted the road to his residence, after a long day of teaching that he finally was able to go home and rest for a while. Any sleepiness that he had been able to resist, came back to strike. Finally he decided to stop for a moment, choosing a cup of coffee at the small shop shop to relieve any drowsiness, it would be dangerous to drive in the middle of sleepiness.

Langit carried a cup of cappuccino in it. It should be underline, Langit is  a simple and humble person, who didn't feel hesitate to sit and drink coffee on the side of the road, just like he did this afternoon. Langit sat on the spot provided with a sip of a cigarette, he was not someone who addict that activity, he did it only occasionally, if he wanted to.

His gaze was accidentally drawn to a woman he knew so well, though he saw her from behind, Langit was quite certain that she was the girl who had been recently with her sister. Exactly, the girl was Green. The woman who last week was pannoyed because of him, he haven't had a chance to see  her to apologize in person.

Langit was about to come closer and see Green, it seemed like he could use the moment to apologize to the girl himself. But his steps came to a halt when he saw Green playing fun teaching homeless Children, Green was teaching them to read and count, her voice was carefree and cheerful, followed by the equally cheerful and happy sounds of those children.

Another possitive point that Langis saw in Green, he became more and more attracted to that figure. "Green, you look like Keira," he murmured himself.

Soon his phone rang, Kalila called him. Before taking the call, he sighed slowly, preparing himself for any questions that he wouldn't mind to hear.

"Lang, guess where mom and dad are?" Kalila asked in her bright voice, Langit could hear the uproar of Jerry as if he were next to her mom.

"Where is it, Bun?" asked Langit honoring his mom, he actually knew that his mom and dad must be in mall, so he wasn't at all curious about where they were at.

"Your dad and mom are in Gramedia Merdeka..," shouted Kalila excitedly. Right after saying that, Kalila turned the voice call into video, and Langit received the call. He could see middle-aged woman and man on the screen holding out book they had apparently just bought, both smiling happily.

"Why did you buy it, you could ask for it to me," he said with a gentle smile on his two loved one.

"No no no," now the voice came from Jerry, "it's a pride of me as your dad and so mom buying this novel and telling the people there that it's a book by Langit Danendra Adyaksa, the only son of mom and dad," said Jerry looking up at Langit full of pride.

That's the way Kalila and Jerry act, when they heard Langit publishing novel, they both will soon come to the Gramedia to buy his son's novel, never once Kalila and Jerry ask it for free to their son. Furthermore, they will buy it for their personal assistants, driver and even gardener at home, and that had been done since Langit first published book to this day. Langit could see paper bag containin many novels by him. "Dear my mom and dad, thank you for your praying and support for me. What I got this far and all of my achievements, it's all because of mom and dad's prayer," said Langit with a soft voice and a warm smile, looking at the men and women on the screen with a quiet, loving gaze.

"We're proud of you, son," said Jerry, "take care of your health, take care of your sister too, and we'll visit you this weekend."

Kalila gave a warm smile, but behind her gaze Langit could feel what Kalila was about to say was something he didn't want to hear. "Lang, you've found your mother's future daughter-in-law?"

It's terus what Langit wondered, Kalila would ask such a question, he answered her mom lazily, "not yet, Bun," he confessed to his mom.

"Langit...I don't want to know. Later, when your dad and I visit Jakarta, you should have given me my future daughter-in-law or  I'll introduce you to my friend's daughter." Langit sighed with tired breath, but with no courage to answer at all against her mom deception, let it be that somehow he didn't want to hurt the woman who had given birth and gave him the whole affections. "It's enough, Bun, no need to talk about it here," Jerry advised his wife not to be too hard on their son "okay, my son, I'm hanging up, I'll see you later."

Then the call ended, Langit was staring at his phone with a gloomy eyes. His head felt pounding. "Where should I find a woman to show to my mom? Arrggggghhhhhh," he ruffled his hair so rudeness, he was frustrated because his mom forced him as always .

Langit pondered, looking for a solution, remembering one of his girl friends whom he thought to be suitable and willing to be introduced to Kalila, but he did not find out because most of his female friends were married, or they already had their own couple, and they absolutely would reject heis invitation.

"Argggghhhh mom often did this," Langit threw the empty cup away in any direction.

A boy with a 12-year old approached him taking the cup he had discarded just now, if he was not mistaken, the child was one of the boys who had been studying with Green. Oh yes? where did Green go? Ah it seems Langit  haad been talking to dad and his mom  too long to realize Green had gone out of his sight.

"Uncle, throw the trash in its place, you can't throw it anywhere," said the boy as he returned the trash of a cup which had been discarded by Langit.

Langit received it and affectionately ruffled the child's hair, "thank you for reminding me," he said in a gentle voice.

"No worries, ucnle," the boy stopped turning away from Langit, but his stepped stopped as Langit called him, "heyyyy..."

The boy responded and turned his gaze, Langit came and equated with the boy height "what'syou'r name?" asked Langit.

 "Rubi, uncle."

"What a beautiful name, can I ask you something?" asked Langit to Rubi that a nod in return.

"Who teaches Rubi if throwing trash should be in it's place?" asked Langit again.

"Sister Green, uncle. She said don't throw rubbish anywhere, then the roads would get dirty, so if the rain came it could be  flood too," Rubi replied while thinking of Green's explanation when she first explained why we shouldn't throw trash anywhere.

"Sister Green?" Langit asked once more, pretending not to know who Rubi was mentioned.

"Yes, sister Green, the woman who had been teaching to read, and write just now over there," Rubi pointed to his friends who were still at the park where they had been studying pereviously.

Langit again wiped the head of Rubi with loving. "Rubi and friends, would you all mind if uncle buy you new clothes?"

He did not immediately answer the question, he looked up at Langit with probing eyes. "Sister Green said you can't just trust a stranger."

Langit smiled sincerely, it seems like Green did teach the boy and his friends in front of him many things , "I won't harm you," he said reassuringly.

"What is your name, uncle?"

"Langit, call me uncle Langit," Langit answered with his hands raised.

Rubi received Langit's hand, they shook like two people who just known each other, and this time no more probing stares were given. The boy smiled warmly, and he could sense that Langit were not bad guy.

"So, Rubi and friends mind if uncle buy you new clothes?"

Rubi nodded excitedly, "if uncle invite you all to live in an orphanage, do you mind?"
