Ivara's POV

It had been about forty minutes since we'd left JoJo's place, and Xlynor had been unusually quiet, his attention fixed on the road.

I could tell we weren't going home because we had already left the royal fortress, but I didn't want to ask where we were headed. I focused on taking in the sights as we drove through the city.

Dark Hound didn't have a village where its pack members lived, as I'd been told. It was an entire city, with medieval architecture and modern structures coexisti

Ivara's POVThe woman turned back to me, this time with her gaze fixed on the floor. “What would you love to have, Miss Ivara?” she asked, her tone shaky and less firm than before. My eyes widened in surprise. Oh, she knew my name? Wow. “Can I have everything on this page and these other two? For the drinks, I'd like your best wine. And whatever his usual is, please,” I answered. She nodded and scribbled something down before hurrying out of the hall. She disappeared so quickly that I didn't even get a proper look at her face.I turned swiftly back to Xlynor, who had begun tracing his fingers absently on my thighs. “What do you mean I'm paying? Have you gone broke? The meals here are expensive. We'd get a job to clean this building a year before we pay up.”“Broke?” He stared at me like I'd said the most absurd thing ever, then sat up. “Me broke? That is funny.” He snorted. He slipped a hand into his coat and retrieved his wallet. Opening it, he pulled out three black metallic cards a

Ivara's POVI could have sworn dinner wasn't supposed to require a private entrance, a different security checkpoint and an elevator that appeared to have no buttons for any other floor. But apparently, I still had a lot to learn. When the doors opened, another woman was waiting outside.“Welcome back, Mr Darkazov,” she acknowledged. “It's an honor to serve you.”It seemed Xlynor came here often. Everyone appeared to know him, although they addressed him as Mr Darkazov or Sir instead of Alpha. The woman spared me a brief glance before turning back to Xlynor.“I'm Denise, and I'll be your private dining manager today, Sir. I'll personally oversee your experience. Please follow me.”Xlynor didn't say anything. He simply followed her, and I trailed behind him, taking in the luxury of the floor.“I hope you have a lovely experience, Mr Darkazov and Miss—” the woman who had followed us into the elevator but hadn't stepped out called after us.I turned back to her, a huge grin on my face. “

I focused on taking in the sights as we drove through the city.Dark Hound didn't have a village where its pack members lived, as I'd been told. It was an entire city, with medieval architecture and modern structures coexisting in a rather fascinating contrast. The vehicle slowed as we approached a towering skyscraper, its glass façade illuminated against the night sky.I tilted my head, taking in the enormous structure.Damn. Where the hell were we?Luxury cars lined the covered driveway beneath the grand entrance, while impeccably dressed men and women moved in and out through the revolving glass doors.I caught a glimpse of a uniformed attendant opening the door of a black Bentley before our vehicle continued pas

Ivara's POVMy fingers froze on Xlynor's shirt.Oh, goddess. That voice.I snapped my eyes open and turned around. Jojo stood outside the door, watching us. Actually watching us.My gaze darted to Xlynor, then back to her, as if looking at him might somehow make her disappear. It didn't.I wanted the earth to swallow me whole. No, better yet, I wanted the glasshouse to collapse on top of me. At least then I'd have a reasonable excuse for never showing my face again.Xlynor lifted his head. His silver eyes met mine for a brief second before sliding toward the doorway.“You don't have to be a damn creep, Jojo,” he hissed. He stepped away from the door, tugging me along with him.“Oh, don't mind me.” Jojo strolled inside, looking far too pleased with herself. “Please, continue. I'll just find myself a nice little corner.”Xlynor rolled his eyes, then looked at me.He started to move away—only for me to catch the edge of his robe. I tightened my grip and gave a small shake of my head.Don

Ivara's POV“Perhaps you should get away from me!” I retorted.Xlynor made absolutely no effort to move away. Instead, he brushed another kiss against my shoulder. My stomach flipped so violently I nearly forgot how to stand.I tried to turn my head to look at him, but his hand moved from my upper torso and curved around my neck, his fingers resting against my skin.He gently tipped my head backward, exposing my throat.A tiny, helpless gasp escaped me.Then he leaned down, his lips brushing my neck. “If you're going to kiss me and let me touch you, then you should understand that you're mine and mine alone. You're exclusive till I say no,” he said.My heart practically somersaulted inside my chest. Panic seized me, sharp and insistent, yet my body seemed determined to betray me in the most humiliating way possible.I wanted to speak but I couldn't.Apparently, wearing a covered top wasn't enough to stop him. I could feel every point of contact, every breath he released against my ski

  • Auctioned Bride Of The Cursed Alpha    Chapter 222: That's All?

Ivara's POVI retrieved my coat from the wrought-iron stand beside the door, then gripped the long silver handles and pulled the double glass doors apart. At the same time, a hand slammed against the glass, forcing the doors shut with a resounding thud.I froze.Xlynor's presence loomed behind me, his cedarwood scent enveloping me.My breath hitched. How the hell had he moved so fast? No, not how. Why had he followed me?I hadn't seriously thought he'd come after me. Clearly, that had been a mistake. He snatched my coat from my hand, putting it back on the coat stand. Fine, he could keep it.My fingers tightened around the handle. Before I could try again, his hand settled over mine from behind, pressing my palm against the handle.“You know you're my favorite brat.” His breath warmed my ear as he whispered to me. “Why? You keep underestimating me.” He chuckled. “Were you actually making a run for it?”He didn't yank me away or roughly wrench my fingers free. Instead, he began peeling

Xlynor’s POV “You know how much I hate repeating myself, Aaron,” I muttered, my gaze fixed outside the window. “You and I both know this isn’t everything you stole.”“My Lord, please forgive me. I wasn’t in the right state of mind. I needed to sort my mother's bill and it was my only option. Pleas

IVARANo, this shouldn't be happening. Not after everything I went through just to escape.“Father!” I yelled, struggling with the guards who were trying to rip my clothes off me. Of course, they'd obey him, the almighty Gamma.Father stopped in his tracks, then spun around. Even the guards paused.

IVARA What had just happened? One second, I was waiting for Adrian in the park, the next? I was here, half-conscious in some confinement.Confinement? A fvcking confinement! My eyes widened. What?I dragged myself up, my legs wobbling as the room spun around.“No, no.” I whispered, I couldn't poss
