AURORA

“Take her out of the pack territory, she is no longer one of us ....Consider her a rogue and treat her like one,” My dad’s voice resonated. He had spoken in growls and his voice had anger and resentment, which I knew was directed at me.

“Da….dad,” I stuttered.

But then, he left the ground without looking back.

“After everything the Alpha did, you chose to reject the pack for a man who took part in killing your own mother! What a foolish child,” my dad’s beta spat and trailed behind him.

“He..he killed my mother? What are you talking about?” I asked, but then he walked away without bothering to say another word to me.

I fisted my bleeding palm to stop the blood from flowing and tried to run over to him, but then I was violently pushed to the ground.

“Who the fuck are you to push me to the floor?” I hissed and looked up at the person that had pushed me. 

It was Natalia, the beta’s daughter, my biggest rival. 

“Isn't that where you belong? On the ground,” she laughed.

“Show this thing out of this place. Her scent is disgusting,” she scrunched her nose at my scent which had changed the moment I rejected my pack.

That instant, the pack warriors walked over to me. Not even giving me a chance to rise from the ground, they held my arms and began dragging me away. The rough ground tore my clothes.

“Let go! I can walk on my own,” I growled at them.

“Know your place, rogue.” That was all they said and kept dragging me.

Realization of what I had done, dawned on me at that moment. The realization that I was no longer the spoilt princess of the Riverbell pack became crystal clear to me. 

“What have I done?” I mumbled internally, still in denial of the fact that I no longer had a home.

An excruciating pain hit my back, making me crumble to the ground, thrashing. The warriors still kept dragging me like whatever I was going through was none of their business, this act was enough to make everything as clear as day to me.

“Give me her jewellery,” Natalia requested the moment we got to the pack clearing.

Just like that, my ornaments were violently ripped off my neck and handed over to her.

“I don’t think she deserves to leave the pack with anything that belongs to us. Strip off her clothes and hand it over to the beggars,” she instructed them.

Anger bubbled inside of me.

“Who the fuck do you think you are to do this to me?” I growled at her.

“Oh, shut up.” she kicked me to a side, angering me.

I bared my teeth and her.

“Shut her up,” she told the guards.

They hit me over and over again amidst laughs and mockery from members of the pack, then finally, they tore my clothes off my body and pushed me off the gates in just my bra and panty. The giant gate that separated my pack from the woods was shut in my face.

I was battered and injured, almost all parts of my body were bleeding, my bones were broken, but then I consoled myself with just one thought.

“I still have my mate.”

I dragged myself to a corner and rested my back on a huge tree, then mindlinked my mate.

“Can you come to my pack clearing?” I had requested. 

He readily agreed to come without asking why. Just this one act from him was enough to assure me that maybe I made the right decision and wouldn't regret it. 

About thirty minutes later, I heard some rustling of leaves. My eyes lit up as the familiar scent of my mate hit me. His gigantic grey wolf stood before me, before transforming into a tasty jet black haired young man. I watched him slip into the clothes he had brought along with him. 

“Your scent has changed,” he pointed out, oddly keeping a distance from me.

“I was probably overthinking.”

“I rejected my pack for you,” I revealed, staring down at my toes.

“Have you always been this stupid or…”

“Ralph!” I called him, making him pause his speech and look in my direction.

“I rejected my pack to be with you. Can you scold me when we get to your pack, please? Can't you see I'm injured,” I mumbled, making an attempt to make him notice the glaringly obvious injuries on my body. But then he never seemed to take notice of them.

“Come with me,” he muttered and began walking into the woods, not even bothering to know if I could walk. I managed to wander into the woods with him, and soon, we came to a major road, where we got into one of his cars and drove down to his pack. 

“Alpha,” his pack members chorused the moment we got out of his car. We had just arrived at his pack.

I trailed behind him, ready to follow him to his room, as his mate and future Luna of his pack, but then the unexpected happened.

“Show her to the maid’s quarters,” he instructed
