Chapter 23

Kiara:

I smiled as I walked out of the bathroom to find that my husband was still asleep.

His exhaustion having gotten the best of him, he couldn’t bring himself to open his eyes, or wake up when I had tried to wake him up. I got out of bed and showered before walking out to wake him once again, the man still needed to get to work.

“Alessio, my love” I said softly. I ran my finger over his hand and he smiled despite his closed eyes, putting his right hand over my own, and pulling it to his chest, over his calm heartbeat.

“I’m awake, malyshka, don’t worry” Alessio said opening his eyes to meet my own. Our eyes met and he smiled at the sight of me wearing his shirt and a pair of my white shorts. His finger running over my bare thigh before he sat up.

“How are you feeling? You barely got to sleep last night…”
