Chapter 6

Kiara:

“What do you mean we have to go elsewhere, Alessio?” I asked wide eyed. My heart racing against my chest as I processed his words.

“Kiara, you and the kids have to go to the safe house, you and I both know that it’s not safe for you here” Alessio said making me glare at him. The fact that he even suggested such a thing annoyed me more than he could think. The fact that he believed that it was okay to go on ahead wanting to send his wife and kids away from their home when he knew my opinion on it angered me.

“The kids have school, Alessio, and I belong by your side. If there’s a fight to take, then I don’t think that I would come now, ten years into our marriage, and run away from it” I said glaring at my husband. He smiled and wrapped his arms around me, hugging me as he kissed the crown of my head “stop being romantic when I’m angry with you”

“When was the last time I told you that I love you?” Alessio asked, completely ignoring me might I add. I rolled my eyes and Alessio smiled before kissing my nose “I just want you to be safe, babe. Believe me, not having you in my arms every night would be hurting me more than it hurts you”

“Well, then I’m not going anywhere” I said sassily making my husband shake his head at my behavior, it wasn’t like he wasn’t used to it by now though.

“Kiara…”

“Alessio” I said in a mimicking tone. He shook his head at me knowing that I was just as stubborn as he was, and at this point, there was no arguing with me on this matter.

“No hope?”

“Not a bloody chance” I said making him chuckle.

“Fine, you win, this time. But if I see that it’s getting dangerous, you, Natasha, Katerina, and the kids are going to the safe house”

“You’re forgetting that Grace is coming over in a few days”

“No, I’m not, but I know that Grace would be shooting Arda without blinking before she’s processed what happened to yell at all of us” Alessio said making me laugh. Grace has finally agreed to coming over and settling here after she graduated as a lawyer. Alessio has offered to hire her as the company’s lawyer, and his right hand at work, and that did the trick. Funny part was that she and Alessio were going to be using law to break the law.

“I will not comment on that” I said rolling my eyes. Alessio chuckled before pulling me to the veranda. The two of us sat on the couch which was there and I laid my head over my husband’s chest, right where his heart was beating while we looked up the stars. Goosebumps rose in my arm as the night’s cold air hit me, but Alessio knew better than to suggest us going inside when he knew that we enjoyed being out here together most of the time. He pulled away from the hug to take off his jacket and placed it over my shoulder before rolling his shirt’s sleeves up. He wrapped his arm around me again and I smiled looking up at him with a smile on my face.

“You know, I can never get tired of this” I said happily. Alessio smiled at leaned down to meet my lips, giving me a soft kiss.

“Neither can I, malyshka” Alessio said looking me in the eye “I was thinking of taking you for a little trip, just the two of us”

“Alessio, you know we can’t just leave Viktor here”

“And you know that Viktor is no longer a few months old. He can stay with the family for a few days. The two of us can spend some time alone, and away from all of this” Alessio’s eyes stayed on mine and I couldn’t help but smile. The last time him and I went to a trip alone was when Alexandra was four, a month later, I was pregnant with Viktor.

“Looks like someone wants to give the kids a little brother or sister” I teased making Alessio laugh.

“Well, you can be as loud as you want” Alessio suggested and I laughed. He tightened his arms around me and pulled me to straddle his lap making me giggle. Our eyes met and I found myself melting in his gorgeous eyes, wondering what I did to deserve such a loving man in my life “how about it?”

“You know that I never mind going anywhere with you, but I do get worried just like any mum would” I said smiling. Alessio chuckled and tightened his arms around me before I kissed his lips. The two of us smiled into the kiss before pulling away to look one another in the eye “but we are not making another baby yet”

“Why not?” Alessio asked raising an eyebrow “being pregnant looks good on you, you’re even happier, more cheerful, hormonal maybe, hornier which is a turn on when you’re grinding against me to wake up in the morning”

“HEY! I do that on a regular basis. But it’s not my fault that your morning hard on wakes me up every morning, plus it’s not like the two of us don’t make love before bed; therefore, I’m surprised that you tend to get another boner in your sleep!” I said raising my hands in mock surrender. Alessio laughed at my words and I shook my head at him, but it was true, the man was always ready, whenever and wherever we were; he would be ready for a quick bang.

“Well, having you in my arms, naked might I add, tends to turn me on. So, I believe that you’re looking for should be, thank you”

“For?”

“Screwing you to oblivion every night” Alessio teased and I laughed. I playfully hit his chest and shook my head at his behavior, though I wouldn’t deny that I loved it. His relaxed demeanor was something that I grew to love and adore. The protective side of him was something that I respected deeply, and his kind heart was something that I would cherish for life.

“What are you thinking about?” Alessio asked breaking my train of thoughts.

“You, how lucky I was to be your wife, and how much I love you” I said honestly. Alessio smiled and gently pecked my lips.

“Beautiful, malyshka, it is me who’s lucky being by your side. That is something that we’ve both established a long, long, time ago”

“Just go, we’ll take care of things here” Natasha assured pushing me toward the door as I tried giving her instructions. It wasn’t like she didn’t know how to deal with the kids, I was just being over protective, I knew that. Alessio wrapped his arms around me and dragged me toward the car making me laugh.

“I can walk, Alessio”

“Well, one more minute inside and you would have ended up begging me to stay here or postpone the trip” Alessio teased and I laughed. He opened the car door for me and I smiled before getting in. He sat on the driver’s seat and started the car before driving off, the two of us looked at one another and Alessio smiled before taking my hand in his and softly kissing my knuckle.

“Where are we going anyway?” I asked. He hadn’t told me where we were going nor did he let me pack my things to begin with. He just simply put my underwear in a bag and told me that was all I needed, and whenever I asked about clothes, he would either ignore me, or just tell me that everything was already ready.

“What part of surprise do you not get, baby?”

“The fact that I don’t have any clothes with me makes this a little more suspicious” I said crossing my arms over my chest. Alessio laughed and took my hand again, holding the wheel with one hand.

“Well, because I already bought you a whole new wardrobe. Everything you had in your cart but never bothered buying has arrived to the beach house, and the two of us are going to be staying at a beach for two weeks” Alessio said smirking. I smiled and shook my head at him. He winked and squeezed my hand “but it would be the one in the Maldives”

“Wait, we’re actually going to the Maldives?”

“Yes, I bought us a beach house there, we’re going for the next two weeks, then after that we’re heading to your hotel and staying there for a week, and finally we’ll be heading home after our kids have driven Natasha and Ivan a little crazy” Alessio teased.

“We’ll owe them a vacation afterwards, you do know that, right?” I laughed and Alessio winked.

“Don’t worry, I always pay up front” Alessio teased “they’re heading to a cruise ship after we’re back and it would be our turn to take care of Timur and Tatiana”
