The closer they got, the more she got gripped by fear. One of them drew out a golden dirk, and Emily's heart jumped to her throat. As he strode up to her, she stiffened. "For a hybrid, I thought you'd put up more of a fight." Hot tears flowed down Michael's face. He looked down at Emily, wishing he was dreaming. He tried to convince himself that she was just asleep and that she would wake up soon, but the blood oozing from her neck was enough to tell him that she wasn't sleeping. Giselle sat beside Emily on the couch, crying intently. She looked up at Emily and noticed smoke issuing out of her."Does anyone see what I'm seeing?" She looked up at Emily's parents."Rebecca?" Michael opened his eyes after a few hours. He sat up, squinting and scratching his eyes. He lifted himself up from the floor and tied the towel he found covering him firmly around his waist. He had shifted fully into a wolf without the presence of the full moon. It was something he hadn't done before. Memories of the previous night flashed in his head. It was dark, but the bright moonlight helped illuminate the night, so bright that a werewolf could see brightly without gleaming their wolf eyes. The rain descended heavily from the firmament, and Michael found himself standing under the cloudburst in the middle of the scanty forest; he had no idea of the exact place he was. He hurried to search for a place to hide to avoid getting drenched by the rain. He stopped and studied himself, noticing he wasn't getting wet by the rain. It took him some time to realise that he was in Nicholas's memory. He wondered why Nicholas had brought him here. A while later, he heard sounds.
