CHAPTER EIGHTY SIX

DAMIAN’s POV.

The sound of the shower stopped and I looked to see the door open—Selena stepped out with a towel tied around her chest. It’s been a while since I saw her this way. Now, we were strangers, no longer as close as we used to be. Something tugged at my heart at the realization of that but I kept my cool. I was not here to rekindle old memories, I was only here to genuinely check in on her. She was under my care and it was my responsibility to take care of her as long as she was with me.

A look of surprise flashed through her face the moment she saw me but she didn’t say a word. She only turned around and made her way towards the vanity table. I thought I was going to take some rest after Kourtney left the house but I couldn’t. I wanted to see her and talk to her. She looked like a whole lot was going on in her head from the way she kept looking at me in the dining room.

“I want to get dressed” her voice pulled me out of my train of thoughts, “can you please leave”
