Chapter 99

Iris's p.o.v

I stood with Zara next to me right on the road that led to the palace, waiting for the human warriors to come into view.

My job was simple, to protect the blessed maiden as my master had asked me to, but that didn't mean I couldn't destroy the first group of warriors. I felt stronger than I had ever been.

My master was against the idea of me standing on the road because he didn't want anything harmful to come my way. I had to beg to finally have his approval.

The creatures of the dark were outside the kingdom hiding in the trees and woods waiting to be summoned by me to attack the human warriors.

What I first wanted was to have all the warriors come forth. After that, the creatures would go and stand at the entrance to take down any human warrior who would try to retreat from our kingdom.

I closed my eyes feeling the vibration of the ground. They were approaching by horse, not foot, but the vibration wasn't strong which meant the warriors weren't all that.
