Cara packed her son's lunch without saying a word. Her heart was still heavy from the way she talked to Amber the previous day. Maybe Amber was right, she was just looking out for her and only an insane person will behave the way she did.

She had gone too low, insulting her only friend with the burden and ache her heart still bore.

"You haven't said a word since mummy. Are you fine?" Mason said, cutting through her thoughts.

Even her son knew something was wrong with her. "I'm fine baby," she brightened up a bit and ruffled his hair.

"Finish up your food quickly while I go take my bath," she disappeared inside.
