REBEKKA POV

My palms were sweaty, my throat was dry and I was visibly shaking, I could not tear my eyes away from Lord Stephan even though he was not the one speaking.

Was he no longer mad at me?

Damon on the other hand was smiling slightly; I could not help but notice it and my gaze shifted to him.

Our eyes met and the sparkle in his blue eyes stilled my raging heart, there was something calming about his gaze, something that just made me feel like I was going to be okay.

Stephan’s gaze turned hot and I could feel it almost sear my skin and I stiffened and then averted Damon’s gaze.

What is wrong with you? I kicked myself in the foot. Even in his presence, I could not seem to resist Damon.
