Chapter Fourty-Nine

It was late already and Seb had almost given up on Alex returning his calls when he finally had his phone ring, signifying an incoming call from him.

He was probably unable to sleep, still worried about everything that happened so fast and finally ready to speak to him, he thought and without hesitation, swiped to pick the call.

"Hey."

Much to his surprise, he didn't hear the familiar voice of his boyfriend over the phone. Instead, it was the voice of a woman, seeming grown and oddly sounding familiar.

"Hello?"

"Blue?" He asked in confusion. On hearing the voice for a second time he was sure it wasn't Alex who was speaking. "Is that you?"

"Sebastian, is that you?" The person said in return. "It's me, Carol. Alex's aunt."

He heaved a sigh of relief and almost immediately, had his heartbeat quicken again. "Carol?"

"Yes, it's me," she confirmed. "Um, Alex left his phone behind so I just wanted to ask if he was at your place."
