This is a lovely story, I just started it but I'm already intrigued and sad for Alex already. I hope he finds happiness and is able to be himself.

There’s a sweetness to this story that I like. Not for those who prefer gratuitous or explicit sex scenes. It’s straightforward without any unnecessary and weird plots or twists. Glad I gave it a chance - thanks author.

Chapter One
Alex Croft was going to be graduating high school in a few days and he was literally counting down to the big moment.High school had never been one of his favorite places to be and it still took him by surprise whenever he thought about how he managed to survive the 6 years of it. They were far from being six years of pleasure as he spent them alone. Literally, alone. He had always been by himself for as long as he could remember. The last time he could remember probably having someone he could call a friend was elementary school. Ever since his friend then moved and changed schools, he was left alone and simply had no interest in making new friends. He continued like that throughout elementary school and when he finally transferred to his new high school with hope of becoming a bit more friendly, his life took a drastic turn.Few days into his new school, his mum fell sick. He and his parents shared the basic relationship most families shared with each other so quite naturally, his

Chapter Two
If Alex got a dollar for every time he refreshed his email hoping for a letter of acceptance, he'd have being a millionaire.Groaning, he shut his laptop and got up, quickly concluding him roaming around his mail and the school page wasn’t going to make things happen any faster. He flipped his hood over his head and then headed downstairs. Shoving his hands down his pocket as he got halfway down the stairs, he began to mentally picture what the interior part of the fridge looked like and what he could have as a snack out of it.It was a Monday and as expected, he was home alone. His dad was off to work, leaving him, who had successfully graduate high school few days ago, home alone.Grabbing a bag of chips immediately he opened the fridge, he headed towards the living room. Plopping into the nearest seat, he grabbed the remote and turned on the TV.“Goodness!” Alex exclaimed as he stared at the TV screen in front of him, immediately reaching to change the channel. In front of him, wer

Chapter Three
Alex sat on the floor in the living room, knees drawn close towards him, lost in thought. He had remained in that position ever since he dialed the number he found in his dad's most recent call log which had a colleague of his dad arrive in a few minutes alongside an emergency van and several other staffs of the hospital. He felt an unexplainable pain in his chest as he watched them wheel his dad's lifeless body away. Dr. Reeds, his dad's colleague and friend, walked up to him to console him and tell him not to worry too much as he already spoke to an older relative. Who the relative was or what they even spoke about, Alex had no idea but still couldn't bring himself to ask.The entrance to the door was still wide open and he could hear voices and sympathetic sounds coming from the neighbors who had just heard of the tragic incident, reminding him of how pathetic his life had become in only a few hours."Alex sweetheart!"Alex raised his head to see a woman dressed in dark jeans and a

Aunt Carol. I didn’t want to wake you from your seeming peaceful sleep so instead I’m writing you this note. I have somewhere I need to be so you won’t be seeing me at home when you wake up. Don’t worry about me, I’ll be back before evening. Here’s my phone number just in case.-Alex.It was barely 7am when Alex left the house. His aunt had returned home late the previous night and had simply gone to bed. Partially because he didn’t want to wake her and cause he couldn’t face her and lie to her, he left a note for her on the table in the living room.He was dressed in dark jeans with a white hoodie and a black t-shirt underneath. His unwashed hair was covered in the hood of his hoodie, the pride flag he picked from the trashcan laying in his pocket. From the flyer, he knew he needed to take a train to get to where the pride parade was going to be starting. To get there as early as possible, he left home as early as he could and boarded the train to leave. After close to two hours of r

Their trip to the U.S lasted roughly 8 hours.Alex had managed to pack all his things in just two boxes, surprising Aunt Carol. She commented on him not having a lot of stuffs but unknown to her, he had left dozens of stuffs back at home. Locked up in his room and the house with him having no plan to return to.He was going to be starting a new life and thus was trying to get rid of as much things as possible from his past.As they boarded the plane and sat in their designated seats, Aunt Carol looked at Alex and took his hands in hers. She squeezed them not looking away from him and managed a smile.“Are you okay?”“Yes,” Alex wasn’t sure of what exactly she meant but knowing his answer was going to be the same regardless, he replied. “I’m okay.”“Are you sure you packed all your things? You sure you didn’t leave anything behind? You know you would be away for a very long time.”He nodded in response. “Yes, I packed everything necessary.”“Alright then,” she said then adjusted her si

Chapter Six
"Blue? It's you, isn't it?" Alex swallowed, staring at the guy in front of him. The guy he had met about two weeks ago and had hoped they'd never see each other again. It was him. None other than Sebastian. It took him by surprise how he still remembered his name as much as he tried to forget it. How he still remembered his face no matter how much he tried to blur it out of his memory. How he still remembered that day vividly despite his continuous attempts to have it as nothing but a forgotten memory. "Oh my God," Seb said, moving even closer to Alex. "It really is you!" "Eh?" "I can't believe my eyes," Seb broke into a smile as he spoke. "I mean it's great that I'm seeing you again but at the same time I almost can't believe it. It really is you. You have no idea how much I thought I really was never going to get to see you again and..." Alex watched Sebastian as he rambled on. He never failed to hide his emotions on seeing him as he kept on gushing. He looked just the same a

Chapter Seven
"Are you cold?" Alex knew exactly what his aunt meant. It was his first day at school and he was dressed in dark jeans and a dark colored oversized hoodie that literally covered half of his face. As if the hoodie hadn't done enough covering, he had a face cap on, totally covering his face. If one didn’t know better, they’d suggest he was out on a mission to assasin a member of the high class society. "No," he nervously replied then took off the face cap to drop it in his backpack while making a mental note to return it to his head the minute his aunt dropped him off. "Just a little." "Alright," his aunt didn't stall on the topic. "I like your outfit though. It's cool and casual. I was afraid you'd put on a shirt and trousers and look all formal." He could have if he was just going to a normal college to be a normal person but that wasn't the case. He was going to the same college as Sebastian and was going to be trying his best to stay as invisible as possible. It might be hard

Chapter Eight
One thing Alex absolutely hated was having sleepless nights. He tossed and turned at intervals, groaning at every movement. It was frustrating as every single time he shut his eyes, he had Sebastian's face showing right up. He grunted out as he sat up on his bed. Pulling the sheets away from him, he moved towards his bedside and turned the lights on. He looked at the wall clock as he did that. It was past midnight already and ever since he got back from school and had about two spoons of dinner, he had been on the bed, unable to sleep or infact, do anything he actually wanted to do. His thoughts had been involuntary- Seb clouding it. He couldn't get his name, his face, his voice and literally everything he knew about him out of his mind and with every second that passed it pissed Alex off even more. Giving up on trying to lie down and sleep, he crossed his legs on the bed. He folded his arms and looked around him noticing how empty the room felt for the first time. Unlike his r

Chapter Nine
Alex’s day was going fine. So fine it was beginning to feel strange. It had to be his most peaceful day since he had resumed. He woke up peacefully and had a normal breakfast without spilling soup or sauce on his t-shirt. His classes went well- the professors knowing how to handle dozens of students well without making them feel sleepy. Tasha was also by his side all day and knew when to slip words to make him laugh occasionally. It was just going all too well. “And that’s a wrap,” Tasha let out a sound of relief as she shut her laptop few minutes after the professor left the class. “We are done for the day.” “I know right,” he grabbed his backpack and faced her. “So, what next?” “I should be asking you that,” she said with a mischievous look on her face. “You seem to be in a good mood today. At least you haven’t cursed today.” “I do not-” “Yeah yeah,” she interrupted him. “You do not curse every time, is it?" "I actually do not." "I know," she gave him a funny look. "I d

"Let's partyyyyy!" It was hard to believe Tasha wasn't drunk as Alex stepped into the Uber containing her parked outside his house. Since neither of them had a car and both considered it bizarre to ask their guardians to drive them to a party at night, they opted to ordering an Uber. It was to initially pick Tasha from her place then Alex then drive them to the house the party was going to be holding. Dressed in skinny ripped jeans and a white T-shirt alongside a denim jacket, Alex felt dressed enough for the party. It was his first party and as such was clueless on how to go about it but on getting downstairs and receiving a thumbs up from his very dramatic cousin, he knew he was good to go.His hair was washed and blow dried and smelt like the strawberry flavored shampoo his aunt had supplied him. Lucas dashed into his room and brought out an expensive looking cologne and didn't hesitate to drown him in it. With his card, phone and spare house keys in his hand, he bid his aunt and
