LOGINDorian Bower struggled out of the Jenson's house and into his car, he picked his phone and called his guard immediately.
“ Brown, I need you to come to the Saint estate and send the men out now in search of Lyra. She just left the house and she hasn't gone far” he said “ she has nowhere to go” he added and hung the call. Dorian shut the door, and keyed his car engine, zooming out of the Jenson apartment while cursing Lyra. She put him in so much pain and if he lay his hand on her, she would regret it.

“ Bring them in” Sebastian said as he smiled, he was finally meeting his future granddaughter in law. Remy found a seat and placed his right ankle on his leg while his eyes fixed on the entrance and moment later, the tall double door opened.
Taylor walked in first, his shoulder stiff from anxiousness, followed by his wife , her eyes moving cautiously across the marble hall, Slyvia walked beside her mother trying hard not to look too fascinated by the grand hall but Remy’s eyes searched behind them. Where was she?
Sebastian stepped forward with a polite smile.
“ Mr Jenson” he said and Taylor quickly extended his hand with a slight bow.
“Thank you for having us, Sir”Taylor said, Sebastian took his hand with a firm, controlled grip.
“ Thank you, Chairman Hawthorne for having us”Ramona said smiling.
“ You are welcome”
“Good evening, Grandpa. Having us here is truly an honor” Slyvia said and Sebastian smiled brightly.
“ Good evening, my daughter and you're very much welcome…” Sebastian then looked behind before turning to Mr Jenson “ I notice someone missing” He said.
Taylor's smile flickered slightly but Sebastian's gaze was on him.
“My daughter, Lyra couldn't make it tonight” he said and Remy’s brows lifted faintly where he was sitting.
“Couldn't or didn't want to?”Sebastian asked and Taylor quickly waved a hand .
“ She was just…”
“Stubborn, she doesn't ever want to get out of her room and very disobedient”Ramona said interrupting her husband.
Sebastian's gaze sharpened slightly.
“Interesting” but he wasn't excited as he was before they arrived, he had been anticipating her. Remy stood up and used a hand raise to halt their greetings.
“Unfortunately, I have been expecting her for quite a while and I get everything I expect to so… with that said, I'll be going to your home to bring her” Remy said and then the Jenson gasped surprised. Slyvia was trying to avoid his gaze but he pointed at her anyways.
“ You'll come with me” he said and Taylor looked divided with Ramona searching her man's face for what to do.
“Actually.. “ Taylor started, cursing at himself for believing they didn't want to see her. “ She had something to attend to..”
“Something to attend to which is better than being here?”Remy turned to Taylor asking slowly while his face showed clear rising anger. Anyone would kill to have dinner with the Hawthorne, who the heck does their daughter think she is? Taylor stepped back, Remy Hawthorne was known for his short temper anger and he feared for what will come upon him. Ramona and Slyvia were also trying to keep their distance.
“ She’s having dinner with…”
“ Dinner with her boyfriend” Ramona took this opportunity, it was clear that Remy was getting angry and that was the only time to make his dislike Lyra, more.
“ She is in a relationship but Slyvia is very decent girl, she is homely…”
“ Why didn't you let me know she is in a relationship?” Sebastian finally joined, asking Taylor. “ You have been wasting my time” his polite smile was gone, replaced with a man trying to keep his temper. Taylor looked at his wife, she had edged him and embarrassed him before the Hawthorne. He didn't know what to say to save himself.
“ I'm sorry, Chairman” Taylor said while stealing glances at his wife for humiliating him like this.
“ I'm calling off the dinner and her relationship, she's cutting it off” Remy said “ Ryan” he called . Ryan appeared right behind him “ check with every restaurant in city A and in twn minutes I need to get the resturant Lyra Jenson is.” He commanded and Ryan nodded leaving. She had a man, that was the cause of her nonchalance toward him. Interesting but sorry for her, he doesn't care. He had picked a liking toward her and that would be her curse because he wouldn't let her go. Not under his watch.
“ I'll just call Dorian to bring her back home” Taylor said and took out his phone, going to call Dorian. The first call, Dorian didn't pick his phone, the second, same. The third, same . Then he searched for Lyra's number, it's been ages since he called her and he couldn't even remember what he saved her contact as. So instead he search Lyra, no result . He paused, what could he save his daughter's contact as? He checked my first daughter, no result. Then decided to stroll through his contacts when he saw the black sheep of my family. That was her. He called her.
“Lyra, pick your phone… pick your phone” he said as the line was only ringing, then cut. He called again. This time, it was picked on first call. “ Lyra, come back home right now. I will send the driver to come and pick you from there”he said immediately then paused when he got no response “ Lyra” he called again.
“ This is not Lyra” it was a deep and thick masculine voice and Taylor’s fingers tightened around the phone. It wasn't Dorian’s voice either. Of course it was another man. Why was he even surprised?. She'd sneaked out to meet another man after Dorian left.
“Who are you?” He asked.
“who am I?” The man on the other end of the phone asked back “shouldn't you be bothered by where Lyra is?” He asked
“ why should I be? You have her phone so she's with you… So you are her man. You are the one she'd been sneaking out to sleep with, right?”
“Her man? “ The man started in a low voice and Taylor heart skipped with uncertainty, who was Lyra going out with? He sounded so much like a thug… “I don't know who you are but I will find you so if you don't tell me where Lyra is right now and I find her myself, you'll never see her again”
“What?” Taylor was surprised but the call ended.
He turned to the people staring at him and he couldn't even comprehend the conversation he just had. Who was his daughter's phone with, was he just threatened? Why wasn't Dorian picking his call?are they in danger? What has she gotten herself into? Who was she sleeping with?
His head was spinning as he walked back to them, chairman Hawthorne was giving him a questioning look while remy was rather impatient,Ramona was angry her words didn't get to Remy while Slyvia had that curious look on her face. He had to say something and yet he didn't know how to explain the conversation so he came up with the most ridiculous conclusion.
“ I think Lyra has been kidnapped”
Early the next morning, a ringing phone woke Lyra. She sat up thinking it was Slyvia, but it was the Samsung by her bedside ringing. She took a glance at Slyvia; she was lying on the bed, her eyes on her.“Pfff,” Lyra puffed and got out of the bed before picking the call as she walked away. She didn't know who her caller was, but definitely, she didn't want Slyvia to hear her conversation.“Hello.”“Walnut, how are you?” a masculine voice came through. She paused. Walnut?“Who am I unto?” she asked. Then it clicked before he responded. She got into the bathroom and locked the door behind her. “Remy, how did you get…” she paused. How did he get the number he bought for her? That was stupid. “Good morning,” she said.“That's more like it. Good morning. I hope you slept well,” he said. She didn't. She woke up multiple times to Slyvia going through her stuff. She had vexed, they'd quarreled, and still, once she closed her eyes, Slyvia still went through her stuff.“Yeah, yourself?” she li
Lyra sat down after Slyvia left and stared at the phone. As the minutes passed, she opened the pack, brought out the phone, and inspected it. It looked like every other phone, and she turned it on. Soon, she became so invested in inserting the SIM he had added to the pack and setting up the phone that she didn’t notice how time flew...until her door stormed open and her father came in.He looked at her in surprise, as though she were a ghost.“Lyra,” he said slowly.Lyra looked up at her father, wondering why he looked so surprised to see her. Oh, he had expected her never to return home. He was, in fact, happy with his little family.“Who’s he?” Taylor suddenly charged toward Lyra. He stopped when he noticed the phone in her hand and smirked. “He got you a phone? Is that what you’re whoring around for?” he asked.Lyra stood up from the bed, dropping the phone.“Leave my room, Father,” she said.He paused and looked at her. “I will not leave,” he said. “I own this house. This building
Sebastian stared at Remy, wondering what was over his grandson.“Rem, did you have knowledge of where she was… wait, you kidnapped her?” Sebastian suddenly exclaimed. Remy laughed at his grandfather's surprise. “You shouldn't do that. Her parents were worried, I was worried,” he said.“I didn't kidnap her, Grandpa,” Remy said. “I am not going into details, but start preparation for our wedding. We have limited time,” he added. He was more than excited to get married, something he had dreamed of years back. Sebastian took out his phone and started strolling through his contacts.“Mister, are you doubting me?” he asked, and Sebastian stopped.“Have you returned their daughter to them?” he asked.~¥~Lyra got down from the taxi and watched it leave before turning to her house. Finally, a time to die peacefully. She walked to the gate and punched in the passkey, walking through when it opened before heading right in. The butler appeared at the sound of the gate opening, and she saw the cl
Mark pulled apart the curtain of the hotel on the top floor. His phone started ringing, and he brought it out from his unpacked bag on the bed. It was his boss, Cedric Huxley.“Yes, Boss,” he said immediately as he picked up the call.“Mark, where are you?” Cedric asked through the phone in a low, menacing tone.“I’m out of town, Boss.”“Get back now,” he commanded.“I’m sorry, Boss, but I’m running the Chairman's errand,” Mark replied very calmly.“Do it quick and get back here,” Cedric said and ended the call. Mark sighed and dropped his phone on the side table. Pictures of the lady who had bumped in front of their car several nights back, captured by the dashcam, were on the bed. He had limited time to source out one person in the whole of city A, and he'll start walking from tomorrow.¥“Is that all?” Lyra asked when the doctor came back into his office; her prospective husband had personally dropped her off at the hospital for the full-body checkup.“Yes, ma,” he said with a poli
“Wow, congratulations. When are they getting married?” Dorian asked.Ramona cleared her throat lightly. “It’s still in process,” she replied, a small smile forming on her lips.“Congratulations once again.” He watched her as she settled into the seat opposite him before asking, more carefully this time, “Ma… what about Lyra? Is she back home yet?”Ramona scoffed.“That one? She ran off to her man,” she said dismissively.Dorian’s heart dropped. Her man?“Her man?” he repeated, his voice lower now.Ramona waved her hand as if the very thought irritated her. “Yes, her man.”Dorian went still, but he was pissed by the thought of her with another man.“Lyra has a man? Who is he?” he asked trying to remain careful.“Who knows?” Ramona shrugged. “Some mysterious man she’s always sneaking off to meet.”She didn’t notice the change in his expression.Sneaking off to meet him…So she didn’t just leave, she ran to someone. And suddenly, the thought settled heavily in his mind.It was that man. T
“Who would believe that ungrateful girl decided to run away with a man, despite all my efforts on that lady? I raised her,” Ramona said as she chewed on a sliced apple. Slyvia was at the table with her, busy on her phone. It had been days since the dinner incident. “We couldn't even have dinner with Hawthorne, and did you even see the eyes of that grandson....?”“So pretty.”“So scary.”Ramona and Slyvia said at the same time, and Slyvia smiled.“Yeah, he can be scary, but he's so handsome, and even when he's angry, it only gives him a cuter side,” Slyvia said, and Ramona breathed in.“What do you think about getting married to Dorian Bowers?”“Do.... Dorian?” Slyvia coughed. “No, Mom, I can't get married to Bowers.”“But he's a nice person, and you both would work out so well.”“No, Mom, I can't marry Dorian. I mean, I would rather live in the kitchen, mopping the floor every day than....”“Slyvia, this is a respectable man. He studied well, he comes from a reputable background, and
“What the actual fuckkkkkk!” Dorian screamed, clearing the whole desk with a swipe of his hand in anger. He stormed through his penthouse. Two of his men were found dead by the road in Los Angeles, and the third one was missing. The lady they claimed to have found was gone. Who the actual fuck is L
“What was that all about?” Taylor asked the moment their car drove out of the Hawthorne gate.Ramona rolled her eyes at her husband and scoffed. “Shouldn’t you be worried about your kidnapped daughter?”Slyvia turned in her seat from the front and looked back at her parents. “Dad, was she really ki
The doctor stiffened as Remy walked in, and Lyra saw it. He stood up straight. “Mr. Hawthorne, I would be leaving now,” he said. “Goodbye, Doctor,” Remy replied, his eyes fixed on Lyra Jenson. He watched as she watched the doctor leave, and something crawled in him. Why would she stare at another
~ City G ~Cedric Huxley walked out of the airport in City G, Mark pulling their bag after him. There was a grey-coloured Bugatti awaiting them. Cedric walked to it, and the door was opened, with the staff greeting him, but his obvious anger got the best of him. His father, Chairman Huxley, was in
