I had no idea why he was doing that, but he was lying to me.

I stared at the phone in my hands, awaiting his response to the text I’d sent five minutes earlier.

He’d read it, but there wasn’t any reply.

At that point, I was silently fuming. My stomach lurched at the thought of him being with Nelly.

Why was he even lying about that to me?

I tossed my phone to the bed, stroking my chin with my fingers. A heavy grunt slipped out of my lips as I tried to remain calm.
