She leaned back and looked up at him. "I can't believe I'm standing here like this" Penny said.
"Like what?" Joey asked.
"half naked in your kitchen" she replied simply.
Joey laughed. "You could always take off my shirt"
"No way. The lights are on"
He paused, then began to unbutton the shirt.
She grabbed his hands. "What are you doing?"
"Taking back my shirt" Joey replied, like what he was going was very normal. Like he had been doing it for a long time.
"You have on jeans. You don't need this shirt as badly as I do"
He slid his hands to her wrists and pulled her fingers away. When she tried to pull free, he wouldn't let go.

Long after Jeremy had gone to the office, Penny remembered those words. They cast a shadow over her happiness. His attitude towards age worried her. She could never be satisfied to accept a statement without proving into it. And Jeremy's emotions were already part of her life. She was wise enough to know that a man who wants to stay young forever is usually one who avoids ties, responsibilities and the thought of settling down.Then she remembered that Jeremy had asked her to marry him, at least to become engaged, and the shadow lifted.
