Chapter one

Idunn's p.o.v

The sun shone brightly over my head and my alarm rang repeatedly. Groaning, I put it off and rubbed my sleepy eyes.
I had to go to work. It's not like there's going to be a problem I go late, after all, I'm the boss but then, I have to lay a good example of punctuality for my workers to follow.

I yawned loudly and got up. I put off my pajamas, tied a towel, and entered the bathroom. After a quick bath, I was out. I dried my body, applied my lotion, and then started dressing. When I was done, I put on my hair wig and applied a little bit of make up.
Now, as for the shoe, since I was wearing a short gown I decided to wear flat shoes. Besides, I only wore heels when it was a special occasion. Now, off to work.

Well, I'm  Idunnuoluwa Gregory. I'm 24 years old. I studied Banking and finance at the university. After working in a bank for two years  I decided to be an entrepreneur. I wanted to have my own company. Not work under somebody or work in my late parents company. Since I learnt fashion designing years back and since I really loved being a fashion designer, i decided to set up a fashion house. I called it I.D.G fashion house. We sew clothes and sell them. Then, there's a section where we sell shoes, we also have a beauty spa.

You might conclude I'm one lucky girl, however, things are not always exactly as they seem on the outside. I lost my lovely parents when i was just 15. My parents were very rich and I'm sure they were murdered. The mystery surrounding their death is still yet to be unravelled.

When I lost my parents, certain people tried to take over all their properties. However, they could not succeed, all thanks to my aunt. She became my mother figure.

But then, life had to be so cruel to me again. She died a year later and once again, i was alone....all alone in the world. I'm a strong girl tho and besides, when the going gets tough, only the tough get going so i had to get going.

I got to work quite early. Thank God there was no traffic jam. I parked my car in my favorite spot in the parking lot and got down.

' Good morning madam...' Sunday, the head of the security men greeted me after directing me to park well.

' How are you Sunday?' I replied him smiling broadly.

   ' I'm very fine madam...'

' That's good to know.' I replied him and walked inside.

I.D.G fashion house was a two storey building. I didn't buy it. It built it. The down part of the building was where we did the makeup, where the hair   salon was located and where the beauty spa was located. We also do sell shoes there. However, the upper part is solely for clothes. We sew the clothes there and also display them there.

' Good morning ma...' Blessing, my personal assistant and receptionist greeted. She's such a sweet and nice young lady. Her main jobs are to attend to the customers and direct them to the various segments they intend to visit, she takes down orders also and they pay to her.

   ' How are you Blessing?'

' I'm fine ma. And your night?'

' It was fine. Thanks for asking.' I replied smiling a little.

' So do we have customer yet?'

' Yes ma. Three young ladies walked in not quite long. They said they have a party to attend in the afternoon so they want to get theirs hairs done, fix their nails and also make up.

' Alright that's nice. Are they already being attended to?'

' Yes ma. Most of the workers have arrived.'

' Alright. That's good to know. I'd be in my office. I have to come up with the design for this week.' I said more to myself than to Blessing and then walked up to my office.

Walking into my office, my eyes rested on the two  photographs on my table. Those were the photographs of my mum and dad.

' Good morning mum...Good morny dad...' I greeted as my normal routine. My eyes became moist and I felt tears welling up in my eyes before they found their ways down to my face. I wiped them quickly and gently not wanting to ruin my make up. It's been 7 years since i lost them however, it seemed just like yesterday. I and parents were very close as i was their only child. My mum was the one that gave me the name ' Idunnu'. Though the full name was Idunnuoluwa, mum called me 'Idunnu mi' meaning 'My happiness' because she claimed i was her happiness. We were such a happy family but life decided to play it's dirty games. Humph!

My phone had been ringing for a while now, but i was so lost in my own world so I didn't notice. Finally, i jolted back to reality and found out it was still ringing. It was my best friend, Stacey Obong.

   ' Hello Stacey..'

' Girl, where the hell have you been? I've been calling you since like forever.' Stacey said screaming at the top of her lungs. I chuckled at her childish behavior.

' I'm sorry. I've been kind of busy.'

' Busy indeed! Anyways, I just called to inform you that I'm on my way to I.D.G fashion house. You're around right?'

   ' Of course i am.'

' Okay then. See you in about 30 minutes.' She said and hung up immediately.

Stacey was the only one i could call a friend and a family. She was my everything. Since i had no parents, no relative, no brother, no sister, she was the only one i had. We met while in the university and became best of friends. We both studied Banking and finance and she still works in a bank till date. I wonder how she'd be able to com toe visit me when she should be at work. Anyways, I should wait till she comes before I ask her.
