CHAPTER 4

Arianna's POV

The sun seeps into my room suddenly, making me open my eyes slowly and turn my face to see the person responsible for the sudden brightness.

My mom's face is a few inches away from mine and I sit upright immediately.

Just yesterday, my mom was away and she wasn't around to help me with my makeup for the graduation party like she promised she would but here she is this morning, smiling brightly in front of me. It feels like she was never away.

"Mom?" I rub my sleepy eyes with my two hands to be sure I am seeing right.

"Yes, baby", she climbs into my bed and drags my body to hers. "How was your night? You slept all morning."

I raise my head. "All morning?"

"Yeah, I told your dad to let you sleep. I came back this morning", she explains and I nod.

I am amazed at my mom's weird behavior these days. She shows me more care than ever before. But I appreciate her and my father's love.

Despite their busy schedules, they still love each other and spend time together as normal couples do.

I used to think their busy schedules would drift them apart but I was wrong. They barely fight each other, but I guess it is because my father is a patient and calm man. Also, he is understanding and I wish to be with a man like him.

"How was your graduation party?" She asks me.

"It was fine", I reply and hug her tightly, closing my eyes to shut the memories of last night. It is something I don't wish to ever remember again.

"I have a feeling something exciting happened last night", she looks down at me with a mischievous smile. I see the reason why she purposely let me stay in bed till noon.

"Nothing happened, mom. I came home early", I answer.

"Why?" she furrows her brows in confusion and I shake my head in disinterest, laying back on the bed.

"Nothing."

"Are you sure?" She peers at me intensely and I nod, avoiding her gaze. I don't know if I should confide in her about what happened between Nicholas and me last night. She knows him.

Nicholas Rodrigo bumped into us a few months ago when mom took me shopping and he greeted her like a gentleman that he isn't. Mom fell in love with him. I told her he is my bully but she didn't believe me. She always tease me about him.

I kept tossing in bed last night, thinking about what happened and asking myself if it is real or unreal. I couldn't sleep till it was morning already.

"Arianna", she calls me. I don't feel like telling her anything so I turn my back to her and say aloud.

"Nothing, mom."

Nick's POV

I have been standing here for more than an hour without a sight of Arianna. I had called her several times but she didn't pick up.

When she eventually picks up and she hears my voice, she disconnects the call even before I can tell her to come out. I drive my car inside the mansion and speak to the maid to help me get her.

The maid has been gone for several minutes with no feedback and I wonder if she has succeeded in helping me fetch her or not.

I had a sleepless night. I wanted to let go but it was so hard for me too. My heart was beating erratically and hurting me so badly. I know being stubborn or arrogant won't solve this problem and it won't make Arianna forgive me.

The maid comes out and I rush to meet her. She bows and tells me. "Ma'am doesn't want to come down. She asked me to tell you to leave."

Shit! I curse inwardly before going back to rest my back on the car bonnet. I can't let Arianna go to England without getting her forgiveness and having her as my girlfriend. I would never forgive myself if she leaves this way.

If she leaves without me marking her, I am going to lose her forever. I can't lose her. I need to present her to my pack members and to Father as my Luna.

It has been exactly two months now since I realized she is my soulmate. The day I saw her and her mother at the mall.

I didn't see her at first. I could smell my soulmate from where I stood and out of curiosity of who she was, I followed the smell all the way to where Arianna and her mother were shopping.

When I saw her and the smell vanished, I wasn't too surprised. I was already fond of her but I was a bit baffled as to why I have a human mate.

After thinking deeply about the next line of action to do, I turn back to go when I see her with folded arms standing by the doorway. I guess she changed her mind about not coming out.

"What are you here for?" She leans her petite figure on the doorframe, watching me.

I scratch my head nervously. "I came to apologize for what I did to you..."

"What you did to me yesterday or what you have been doing to me?" She questions me, with a sad look on her face.

"I'm truly sorry", I apologize. I have no words to justify my actions. I don't need to explain anything anymore, all I just need to do is beg her to forgive me.

"Please, forgive me and believe what I said. I know it sounds too sudden and absurd but that is how I feel. Please give me a chance to prove..."

She interrupts me with a chuckle. "So you can start bullying me all over again? We are done with high school, Nicholas and I can't go to college with you trailing behind me again. You can't continue bullying me forever. Get a life for yourself and let me be", she yells.

I nod calmly, swallowing the lump of guilt in my throat. She keeps silent as we continue watching each other. I don't know what else to say to convince her of how much I love her. It is unexplainable.

"Won't you go?" Her tone is calm. I glance at her and shake my head.

"No. I won't go till you forgive me", I answer with confidence.

"What?!" She exclaims. "You have to go now, I don't want my parents to meet you here."

"Then forgive me already and give me a chance to prove myself worthy to be your man", I remark.

Her mouth dropped open in shock. "Are you crazy?"

"Yes and no", I smile. "I am madly in love with you, whether you believe it or not. I will keep telling you how much you mean to me until you look beyond these bad vibes, this arrogance, and the bad side of me and see how much you truly mean to me. I will keep doing this until you realize what I am saying. I will never stoop so low to do this if I don't mean it."

"What if you are doing this to get back at me for slapping you?" I see the fear that flashes across her face and I know instantly that I have a chance with her. She likes me too but the fear in her heart has clouded all of her feelings.

"I will never do that." I only say, hoping she is convinced. She does not look convinced.

She scowls at me, and points to the door, "Go home, I would never fall for your trap ever again."

With that she opens the front door and walks away, leaving me standing with the hope that she will consider me and give me a chance.
