3: Anything?

Amelia's POV ~

We arrived at Club X later that evening, It was bumming loudly with music and as Chelsea had said, it seems like some rich dudes are here. I could tell this from the VIP sections, which were crowded. I couldn't see their faces since the light are dim. The dance floor was also filled with people, bodies pressing together, guys touching girls... At a corner, I saw some people making out and not giving a damn about what people think, which made me feel out of place.

Clubbing isn't my thing, yeah I dance at a bar, but the scene here is wholly different from what happens at Mr Craig's. This is my second time coming to a club, the first time Chelsea dragged me to one, I ended up leaving her behind to do my work as a designated driver.

Don't get me wrong though, I might be a virgin, but it doesn't I'm a holy one. It's just that when you're not used to a certain kind of life, it'll be hard to fit in, you know?

Chelsea was practically jumping with excitement, this is her kind of life, being rich, I know she goes clubbing with her rich friends, she usually invites me to join them, but I always come up with excuses. I'm guessing she's had enough, that's why she dragged me out here today.

We're both what you'll call opposites, while she's blonde, I'm red-haired. She has a model kind of body while I'm in between, not too thin and not too fat, my big hips and backside give people the impression that I'm fat. It's a good thing my boobs aren't as big, I would have started working my lazy ass out by doing exercise. I work part-time jobs while she's in her final year of schooling, It's still a wonder how we became friends in the first place because we have nothing in common! We're from two different worlds apart.

A tug at my hand snaps me out of my haze, "What are you waiting for? Let try to get closer to them and see if we can hook up with one!" Chelsea yells over the music.

She began dragging me through the dance floor before I could protest. I scrunch my nose at the slight smell of sweat that clung to the air. In no time, we were out of the dance floor, I was expecting her to go to the VIP section but instead, she brought us to the counter. The bartender flashed us a smile, "Ladies, what can I get you?"

"Nothing, for now, handsome, we'll let you know when we want something." Chelsea winks at him.

My brows knitted together in a frown, "What are you doing?" I asked after the man left, I feel like I'm missing out on something.

She grinned widely, "You still don't get it do you?" I shook my head making her sigh, "well, for one reason we can't just barge into the VIP section like a slut begging for a quickie."

My frown deepens, "Isn't that the reason you brought us here in the first place?"

"Ugh for chrissake Lia! Listen!" She took a deep breath before speaking, "As I was saying, instead of barging there, why don't we allow them to come to us? That way we wouldn't seem so cheap."

Okay, now I feel like I have a weird friend. Her dad is already so rich, that she gets to mingle with billionaires all the time, so what difference will it make if one gets into her panties today?

"Why will they come to us when they're surrounded with ladies, mentor Chelse?" I pointed out with a snort.

She rolls her eyes, "We're both hot, haven't you noticed the eyes on us the moment we stepped in? I bet one of them will soon come here to buy us a drink."

Oh! So, that's how it is! She brought us to the counter on purpose. Now that she mentioned it, I could feel eyes boring into my back, making me more uncomfortable than I was.

Not long after she finished speaking, a dark-haired guy in a grey suit approached her. He leans towards her and whispers something to her causing her to laugh loudly.

"Why don't you come to join us at our table?" He said, offering her his hand. She took it, turns to me, and gave me a look that says, "Told you!" before leaving.

Great! She left without asking if I wanted to join them. I sat there contemplating if I should go home when a hand wraps around my waist. I jumped and whipped around to see a blonde, cute guy who seems to be in his late twenties.

"Whoa easy babe, do you mind if I sit here with you? A pretty girl like you shouldn't sit alone."

I forced a smile, "Sure."

He signalled the bartender over and orders a drink for both of us then he began staring at me "I'm Asher by name, and you're?"

"Lia."

"You seem uncomfortable, do you want to get out of here? We can go get fresh air outside."

I nod, "Yeah, that'll be great."

He took my hand and began going in another direction, I was thinking it was the backdoor, but instead, it was an elevator. He steps in and raises a brow at me, "Coming?"

I swallowed down the weird feeling I was having and step in, I wanted to avoid looking like an inexperienced girl, so I forced myself to relax, "You seem to know your way around here." Jeez, was that what I'm supposed to say?

He grins, "Yeah, I own this club."

"Really?"

"Yeah, is this the first time you're coming here? I've never seen you before."

I blush slightly and nodded.

He was about to say something when the elevator dinged open. I followed him to a room and stood awkwardly as he poured drinks into two glasses.

"Umm, where's the bathroom?" I asked. I hurriedly walk into the bathroom when he points at the door. Closing the door behind me, I padded to the mirror, stared at my pale white skin, and inhaled deeply. What are you doing, Amelia? I can't believe I just followed a random guy out to his room. Isn't this also another way of being a slut?

Suddenly, I heard a loud thud on the ground, followed by the sound of glass breaking and a pained groan. I freeze "Asher?"

I slowly opened the bathroom door, only to gasp at the scene outside. Furthermore, I watched in horror as two masked men stabbed Asher in the chest. He lifelessly fell to the ground, his eyes trained on where I was.

A whimper left my mouth, but I quickly covered my mouth so as not to alert them of my presence. Unfortunately, it was already too late as the masked men turn in my direction.

"You! Kill her!"

I raced into the bathroom, locking the door behind me. I was shaking from fear and adrenaline as I nervously glance around for a way out.

A bang at the door made me cry out, oh God, why did this have to happen?

"Don't let her get away, you moron! Open the damn door!" The man shouted from outside.

Seeing a window, I quickly took off my shoes, climbed onto the toilet seat, and began slipping out through the window. I mentally thanked the heavens that the window is a little bit big, making it easier for me to pass through. The bathroom door burst open the moment I jumped out of the window.

The man met my eyes and came after me. Glancing around, I saw a trash can beneath where I was standing, I'll have to jump. Without giving it much thought, I jumped down the building, gasping as I landed on dirty trash bags.

"There! She's getting away." I heard them say and jumped out of the trash can and continued running — this time to the road, they won't be able to hurt me if I go to a crowded place. As I was running, a sharp object pierced my bare feet making me fall to my knees. I whimpered softly when I saw them catching up with me.

"Are you okay miss?" A cool voice said above me.

His shoes were the first thing I saw, followed by his expensive suit. A gasp left my lips when I saw his face, Kade! This is Kade Preston Saint! The guy from the life Tv show!

I didn't have time to drool over him at that moment since my life is still in danger so I clung to his legs while crying "Help me out please!" I beg "I'll do anything!"

He cocks his head while studying me. "Anything?"

From the look he was giving me I know I shouldn't agree with him but I've got no choice, I will die here if he doesn't help me so I nod my head frantically "Yes, anything! I'll do anything just help me out. They want to kill me!" I cried.
