4: Mate

Kade's POV ~

We met with Mr Turner at club X, this isn't the best place to have such a conversation but knowing the kind of person he is, I went along with it. It doesn't matter, since I'll get what I want in the end. Turner is an Alpha of the Silver moon pack — a small pack who is barely surviving because of his lack of incompetence as an Alpha, he mostly spends his time playing with innocent females in his pack. This caused his pack members to join other packs, resulting in the state he's in now.  I already know what he wants to talk about. He wants more land for his small pack while I want him to give up his pack, only then can I offer land for them to live in comfortably. 

Call me ruthless, but my pack wouldn't have become one of the biggest packs in the US if it weren't for my methods of gaining more men. I'm not saying he should give up his pack completely, he'd still get to be the Alpha and rule his pack, but their pack will be under me. While he's the Alpha, I'll be the King of Alphas. Every member of their pack will acknowledge me as their leader, he will have to come to me before making any decision, and my word will be the goddamn law in all packs under me.

"Do you agree to my terms or not?" I asked, levelling my eyes at him.

He shifted nervously in his seat," This... Alpha Kade, don't you think your request is too excessive? How can I come to you for every decision?"

I raised my brows, "Oh? So, wanting my land, so your pack could live isn't excessive? Do you think your pack being under me will make any difference? Mr Turner, I think our meeting has come to an end, I have many important things to do." I say getting up.

"No, no, hear me out please, you can't leave yet... Fine, I agree with your terms! Help me out, please."

As he was talking, I got a funny sensation all over my body. My wolf and I sensed it at the same time. Mate.

My head whipped to the dance floor in search of her "Mate!" She's here somewhere, I can feel it! You can't imagine the joy I'm feeling now, I have a mate! 

After searching for fifteen years, I finally got an inkling of where she is. She's here! I just need to find out where she is! 

"Mate! We need to claim her and make her ours!" Dean growls happily in my head, "I told you she exists, the moon goddess gave us one!"

'Alpha?' Austin calls through the mind link, 'is something wrong?'

I met his gaze, I'm sure my emotions are visible in my eyes 'she's here! My mate, your Luna is here in this club, discharge Turner, for now, I need to go find her' I said to him before turning in my heels.

It took me five minutes to find her and when I did, my excitement died down completely when I saw a guy's hand wrapped around her waist. In that instant, I felt many things — shock, rage, jealousy, and sadness. I was hurt deeply. Does my long-awaited mate have someone already? Even Dean was silent.

'It might not be what you think.' Dean said.

I watched as she went into the elevator with the man and snorted, 'Not what I think? Isn't it obvious she already has someone?'

Shaking my head, I stormed out of the club, needing air. Fuck! What will happen if I go up there and snatch her from that guy's hand? The thought sounded pleasing for a moment.

Austin came out with excitement written all over his face, "Where is she Alpha?" he glances behind me only to frown when he saw no one.

"It doesn't matter, she already has someone."

His eyes widened, "You mean, she's already mated to a wolf?"

"No, a human."

"Then... Does it matter? You can still claim her, right?"

I gave him a look that says, 'Are you stupid?' "Do you think she'd suddenly leave the love of her life and agree to be with me? The fucking fact that she's human makes it worst, It'll be harder convincing her."

Damn! Even though I never expected to have a human mate, I've wasted all my time searching packs for her. It's also one of the reasons I began claiming many packs under me, just so I can find her! I feel like punching the hell out of someone right now.

Shaking my head, I told him to get the car. He sighs and walks away. Several minutes before the car arrived, I was about to get in when I smelt her. This time it was accompanied by fear, so strong that I had to freeze. My head whipped to the side only to see her running towards me, some guys chasing after her. 

The first instinct I had was to save mate, but then I remained frozen, my brows knitted together wondering why her so-called man isn't with her.

'Because she doesn't have one' Dean mutters.

I ignored him since it wasn't what I saw earlier. I watched as she fell to the floor, perceiving blood instantly, and knew she was hurt. Due to my wolf, I could see at night, so I knew she wasn't putting on her shoes.

"Are you okay, Miss?" I asked, walking over to her.

She slowly glances up at me in shock and then recognition. She knows who I am, I thought. It isn't a surprise since I always appear on TV.

Imagine the surprise I felt when her small hands wrapped around my legs, "Help me out please!" She begs, "I'll do anything!"

 I was already mad that she has someone, I've waited all my life for her, and now she wants me to help her? Gazing at her petrified state, I thought of what Austin said about me claiming her even if she has someone, the thought doesn't sound so bad again "Anything?"

"Yes, anything! I'll do anything, just help me out. They want to kill me." She cried.

My control snapped at that, I felt like killing whoever wanted to hurt my mate, instead of dealing with them myself, I told Austin to take care of it. I picked her up from the ground, registering how perfect she fits in my arms and at the same time hating the smell of the man on her body.

The moment I set her in the back seat, she moved to the edge of the seat. I watched her actions in silence and didn't bother asking how she ended up like this.  Instead, I waited for Austin, who dealt with the guys quickly. 

'Where to Alpha?' he asked through the mind link. 

I glanced at her injured leg for a moment before replying, 'To a pharmacy, we need a first aid kit to treat her leg.'

He nodded and drove off. Her hands tightened around the door watching our silent interaction, but to my surprise, she didn't say anything. Once, Austin brought the first aid kit, I walked over to her door, opened it, and knelt in front of her, "Let me see."

She silently gave me her injured leg, watching as I helped her treat it. When I'm done, I met her gaze, "Where do you live?"

Her eyes darted towards Austin then back at me, "Around here, just drop me in the next street."

Lies. I can tell she's lying but didn't comment on it. I'm beginning to find my little mate interesting. We dropped her off at the next street as she said, just before she left, I caught her hand and placed a soft kiss on it.

"We shall meet again mate" I muttered with a smirk. 

She frowns, removed her hands from mine, turned on heels, and began limping away. I would have offered to drive her home, but something told me she'd reject the offer. 

After she left, I met Austin's gaze in the rearview mirror and smiled "Austin?"

"Yes, Alpha?"

"Find out everything about her and bring it to me tomorrow, I want every detailed information."

"As you wish Alpha."
