Chapter 5 - No Regrets

Fu Chao almost puked blood when he heard what his boss said. Does this mean that he was giving the lady some kind of chance?

"Boss…" Fu Chao timidly called out before the man looked at him so coldly that he decided to just shut his mouth and swallow the words that were at the tip of his tongue.

"I'm single and you're also single, so there's no harm done. Trust me, when you marry me, you won't regret it," Tang Yazhu spoke with confidence while still looking him straight in the eyes.

While the man stood there looking at her from a different perspective, he could see how determined she was to marry. Not only that, but he could also see the arrogance and confidence that was embedded in her bones. With this, his lips curved into a smile as he replied to her.

"So, when is our wedding?" he asked while also looking her in the eyes the same way that she had stared at him.

When Fu Chao heard this teasing question… he almost fainted!

Whereas, Tang Yazhu was smiling a superiorly beautiful smile that brought the people in the hospital room an experience alike to that of spring in the middle of a cold winter.

When Tang Yazhu heard his answer, she was surprised. She thought that he would ignore or decline her proposal. She never expected him to answer in such a straightforward way.

"Are you sure you want to marry me? You should know, the moment you say yes, there's no more backing out," Tang Yazhu asked, looking at him, wanting to make sure that he was resolute in his answer and not playing with her.

"Just like what you said, I won't regret this," the man answered while Tang Yazhu squinted her eyes at his honest words.

"After marrying me, aren't you afraid that I'll betray you? From your looks, you must be a powerful person. Just meeting me, aren't you afraid that I'll do something bad and leave you hanging?" Tang Yazhu theoretically asked though she knew she would never commit such a sin.

The man stayed silent for a moment before answering, "I am someone who knows when to trust someone. Also, knowing that I'm a powerful person, you're still bold enough to marry me. Just as you said, we're just strangers, yet you managed to catch my eyes, making me suddenly want to marry you. Not only that, how are you so sure that I also couldn't betray you and leave you hanging in the same way?"

Hearing his answer, Tang Yazhu could only secretly sneer, 'This man would not be easy to handle.'

"Alright, just take care of me first then. We can decide the details of the wedding at a later date," she said while adjusting her position on the hospital bed.

In just a short span of time, she had managed to find a future husband. Tang Yazhu was incredibly surprised, scared, and hopeful for the future, but she could only decide to take care of these emotions slowly one by one.

Tang Yazhu knew that she was taking a really big risk by deciding to marry a stranger, but it was an even bigger risk if she decided to return to Ren Bao's family when she was not the real Ren Bao. For the family belonging to the original Ren Bao, this body was just an empty shell while she secretly possessed and controlled it.

Not only that, the man in front of her could not only provide a temporary abode for her but also allow her to freely search for her true and real identity. This was the other major reason as to why she decided to leave the organization, to know the real truth about herself.

Ever since the day she heard something that she should not have, she needed to find the answers to the questions that popped up in her mind. However, she could only do this when there was not a single person blocking her from finding the truth.

"Wait a moment… I-I still haven't learned of your full name!" Tang Yazhu suddenly exclaimed while being a little shy at the fact that she had just proposed to a man she had no knowledge of at all.

At her exclamation, all the man did was to walk next to her bed and ruffle her already messy hair.

"It's Long Ning, my dear wife," he said.

In the instant that he stated his name, Long Ning heard a rumbling from in front of him and he could only chuckle, 'It looks like my future wife is hungry.'

It was at this moment that Fu Chao found that this was the perfect opportunity to grab onto Long Ning and talk some sense into him.

_ _ _ _ _

Outside the room of Tang Yazhu and in the hallway of Hospital A, Fu Chao was currently counseling Long Ning.

"Boss! I know that this is not my place to tell you, but how could you agree so easily to her proposal? I know that you are trying to find a wife, but you have just met her, Boss! Not only that, who knows if she has any ulterior motives on you!" Fu Chao exclaimed while making sure that his voice was not too loud as he was pervy to nosy people.

It was alright if Long Ning was just an ordinary man...but he was not! There were too many ladies that coveted the position as the Young Madam of the Long Empire!

Who knows how many dirty deeds those ladies have done in order to just meet his boss! All of them, there was not a single one he could trust to allow him to willingly let them marry his boss.

While they were looking beautiful on the surface, the face underneath was filled and ridden with ugly scars of menace. The scars coming from them participating in an unofficial all-out war for the position as the young madam of their empire.

It truly stumped Fu Chao on just how thirsty and ugly ladies could get when they were competing for something. Though, he would rather reiterate that his boss was a human, not a thing that they could just hunt for because they wanted to hunt for it.

"You have already done an investigation. Besides, no matter what you say, I'm going to marry her," Long Ning answered resolutely.

Long Ning was determined that he would marry Tang Yazhu and there was not a single person in the world that could change his decision. Since the moment that he first laid eyes on her, he knew that he wanted her, the lady that struck him with interest.

He could not explain the feeling, but he knew that there was something about her that made him unable to take his mind off of her.

It was not only the beating of his heart but also the constant thought of her that he could not rid of that made him unable to forget her. How could he let go of this chance to marry her and discover what was special about her that made him constantly think of her?

Fu Chao knew that no matter what he said or pleaded, Long Ning would not listen. Once the boss has made a decision, it could never be changed. His boss was decisive in such a way, leading the company to greater successes than ever.

He could only sigh and pray to the gods that they would bless Long Ning's life, especially his personal and marriage life.

Although Long Ning was right that he had already done an investigation on Tang Yazhu, despite digging all the information that he could on her, he could not find a single flaw.

Ren Bao was an ordinary girl, but she still had an okay background. She graduated from CA University, the top culinary arts school in the world, with flying colors, as one would expect from a child who always had high honors. Aside from her educational background, she was an orphan that was adopted by a priest.

However, the problem lied not with him, but within Long Ning's family. Fu Chao did not know if they would accept Tang Yazhu or not.

"Boss, do I report this to your family?" Fu Chao asked, knowing that this was the only thing he could do now.

"No need. She still needs to recover. I don't want them to disturb her while she's still recovering. When she's doing better and okay, I'll introduce her to the family," Long Ning answered before his phone suddenly rang.

"Get the best nutritionist from this hospital to serve her food. I'll be back soon," Long Ning ordered before answering the call and leaving Fu Chao in the hallway by himself.

"Boss, I truly hope that this is the best decision you have ever made," Fu Chao quietly muttered while looking off in the direction that Long Ning walked before he left to go look for the nutritionist.
