Chapter 2 - Possession

City D was always bustling with a lot of people walking side by side and filled with heavy traffic. However, today, the traffic seemed to be much heavier for there were many cars loudly honking as walking people filled the city. Even the swooshing of the wind and the leaves that danced along with it were moving about busily.

It was already June, indicating the start of summer, the hottest season of the year.

On this day, there was a certain transparent soul wandering about on the street. Who was this soul?

This was none other than Tang Yazhu, the girl who had just left the Blood Dragon Palace to execute a Class Z mission a week ago.

Tang Yazhu could not help but curse at the world. She just could not believe that she died!

After successfully executing the mission, Tang Yazhu had gotten herself busy with celebrating the adrenaline during the mission. However, who knew that someone would ambush her and take the three vials she stole from the research facility which was installed with the same security as the pentagon.

Before Tang Yazhu could even understand what was going on, the bitch had already killed her!

She could not believe that the second-ranking female agent in the same organization as her, Yan Juan, would betray her. By the time she realized her hidden agenda, it was already too late.

Now, she was nothing but just a wandering soul!

Just for the sake of living and her desire to live, she somehow was able to defy the heavens and escape death. Only when Tang Yazhu experienced it did she finally believe that the human soul could leave its body and wander around the place.

Since she died, it had already been a long one week that she wandered around. When she tried to possess a body, she could not even enter their body, only passing through them instead.

This meant that she could not possess a human body that was still alive. It also meant another thing.

Even if she managed to escape death, she could not live and breathe like a normal person!

Tang Yazhu could only look up at the blue sky before staring at her transparent soul once again. She then looked around the busy street, barely holding onto her determination. At the same time, she could not help but sneer at her own predicament.

"What a cruel life this is," Tang Yazhu muttered as she floated about gloomily.

Tang Yazhu had no choice but to subconsciously think, 'Is this truly how I will end? Is this happening because I've killed too many that I don't even have the right to live anymore?'

While Tang Yazhu was busy contemplating about the current condition she was in, she heard a loud screeching sound coming right before a "bang!"

She looked around to see where the sound came from and saw lots of people circling around. Going a tad bit closer, she understood that there was an accident.

Curious about the situation, Tang Yazhu immediately flew towards the location of the accident.

"Hm… Seems like someone was hit by a car," Tang Yazhu mumbled to herself when she saw a woman lying in a pool of blood.

Then, with a flash of light, Tang Yazhu saw something transparent leave the female body and fly upwards. Squinting her eyes, she realized that the transparent thing looked very similar to her, the only difference was the golden halo above the head.

"If she's dead… Why don't I have a golden halo-like her's?" Tang Yazhu muttered when suddenly, a thought came to mind.

According to the books and movies that she has read thus far, there was such a thing as "possession." This ignited her heart and loosened the tight grip that has been on her heart since she died.

"Since she's dead now, does that mean that I can possess it?!"

With that thought in mind, a flicker of hope shined in her eyes. Without delay, she arrived at the dead female body even faster than the Flash.

Though she could not quite see her face, she did not care. The important thing now was to occupy the body.

Immediately after possessing her body, Tang Yazhu felt an intense amount of pain.

Even though Tang Yazhu was in pain, she quietly rejoiced.

'Finally! I finally possess a body now!' Tang Yazhu happily thought.

However, this was not the time to dilly dally! Her body was still bleeding and she needed to be saved or else there was no use in her possessing this body as she would die again from excessive blood loss.

"Someone! Call the ambulance!"

'Finally! Someone call the fucking ambulance! Why are you guys so slow-witted when there are dozens of people!?' Tang Yazhu complained internally even about the pain she was feeling.

"Hurry! Hurry! There's too much bleeding!"

'Oh, now you finally notice that I'm lying in a pool of blood,' Tang Yazhu continued to complain to the public inside her mind.

In a mere couple of minutes or so, Tang Yazhu finally lost consciousness due to the excruciating pain that she was feeling and the happiness that flowed in her heart. By the time the ambulance arrived to take her to the hospital, she was already laying on her own puddle of cold blood.

"Young Master, we have already sent her to the hospital. It is best that we leave now as there is still important business to attend to," the assistant of the young master respectfully said while bowing to the young man in front of him.

"We'll wait for her to wake up just in case there are still some unresolved issues. After all, we've just hit her with our car, so we must take responsibility," the young man that was wearing a black suit stated as he waited in the lounge of the operating room area.

"However, Young Master, there is still a meeting you must attend," the assistant reminded him.

"Just cancel the meeting and create a new schedule. I'll settle that matter after this issue is done with," the young man replied.

"Young Master! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I'm so very sorry! This is my fault that we got into this accident!" a middle-aged man continuously apologized as he kept on bowing to the young man.

The driver clearly saw that it was the "go" sign, so he pressed on the gas handle. However, in blindsight, someone suddenly rushed in front of the car, resulting in a collision and accident. Thus, the driver could not help but tremble, knowing that someone could possibly die at this moment due to him.

He knew that it was not only the person who was at fault for rushing but also his own fault for not looking first before pushing on the gas handle.

"It was an accident. You don't have to worry. You can leave for now," the young man assured, allowing the middle-aged man to bow one last time before leaving.

The young man then stood in the lounge with his assistant, waiting for the operation to end. After waiting for a few hours, the surgeon finally stepped out of the room.

"Who is the guardian of the patient?" the surgeon requested.

The assistant then stepped out to answer the question the surgeon posed, "We are her guardians. How is she doing?"

"The patient had two broken ribs which affected some of her internal organs, causing her to have some internal bleeding. Aside from that, the patient also has a fracture in her left arm. Though the surgery is successful, the patient may suffer from some concussions or post-traumatic injuries," the surgeon answered. "Once the patient wakes up, they will need to go through some tests to ensure their safety, so we have sent her to her room."

"Arrange all the accommodations she needs for this hospital and find out everything that you can about this lady. I'll be in her room," the young man ordered before leaving the lounge.

The assistant had no choice but to follow the orders that his master had spoken. At the same time, he could not understand why his Young Master would want to stay in the hospital or take care of the young lady that they had just accidentally injured and met. Well, since there was nothing he could do about the situation, he could only shrug it off and continue with what he had been tasked with.

The worst that he had to be responsible for was undoubtedly not the young lady, but the company. The assistant shook his head as he prepared himself for the hard work that was ahead of him.

'Hopefully, once the young lady wakes up, Young Master will return to the company,' the assistant ruefully thought.

After all, there was a limit to just how much an assistant can handle, especially when it came to handling old men who liked to profit.
