The instant I opened my eyes, the first thing I laid my eyes on, were vintage walls. The whole place was designed with dull colours. Despite that, it was still stunning. Writhing my brows, I wondered where I was. With eyes searching around the room, I slowly scanned the room. There was a shelf and a mini bar, directly ahead of me.

Just as I stood up, a throbbing pain hit my forehead.

Slowly, last night’s events imprinted on my brain. I immediately gasped at the whole lot of things I had done.

“Oh no,” I muttered, with a cringy voice. Rubbing my forehead at the headache that occupied me, I stood up slowly. I sighted my bare legs, re-tracing it all the way to my knee.

I was clothed in a saggy shirt that wasn’t even mine. My hands clenched around my chest in protectiveness.

What was happening here?

Whose clothes was I putting on and, where the heck was I?

Just like a response to my question, a door suddenly opened. My eyes averted to where exactly it came from. I noticed it was coming from another end of the room. As the door swing, I breathed in fast paces and waited for who was about to come through.

I shot the minute I saw the figure. It was the same person that had told me to get lost all this while. The same one who had saved me twice now.

Asher.

“Hold on…” I trailed out, wondering if I was in a dream or this was all an imagination.

“Why are you here?” I questioned, pointing my fingers towards him in a daze.

My eyes dropped below his waist line. He was naked, except from the white towel that hanged dangerously low beneath his waist. I certainly didn’t miss the toned abs and how his biceps flexed at his every step towards me.

“You had too much to drink and almost drowned last night.” he muttered, with a dismissive expression. I eyed the numerous tattoos and piercings around his body.

“A-All that happened just last night?” I blurted out, cringing eyes.

My head still hurt.

Most things were foggy and obscure. I still tried to recall last night’s entire events, but it wasn’t fully processing in my brain.

“Yeah.” he replied, making eyes direct to his mouth, as he said that. I inwardly cringed at his lip piercing.

How did he even eat with that?

“So, you probably saved me, right?” I asked.

“That’s not the point,” he seethed.

“Then what is?” I asked him, again.

“If you couldn’t swim, why would you ever go near a goddamn pool filled with frolicking drunk teens?!” he suddenly exclaimed, this time in more of an eloquent British accent.

“I was drunk,” I started but I surprisingly didn’t even know what to say. I was surprised he would even react like this.

“You don’t drink, so why would you let a goddamn challenge lure you?” Asher stated, with a hardened glare.

“You were watching me all along? What are you? Some secret spy agency?”

“Forget it,” he said, walking up to grab the water beside him. He gulped the entire contents, stretching his neck. From the way his fists balled, he looked pissed. This was undoubtedly confusing me, as time went by.

He had a point but why was he getting angry?

Slowly, I made my way towards Asher. His broad shoulders were turned back towards me. All this was beginning to confuse me. I urged to know the reason for all this. For some weird reason, I couldn’t get rid of the intense glance he had given me last night, while on the dance floor.

Didn’t he have no interest in me?

Wasn’t that night nothing to him?

Then why was he muddling my mind with uncertain ideas?

“Why are you like this to me?” My lips said, with unsureness, asking him. His daunting gaze landed on mine, at my question.

“What do you mean?”

“Why are you so dismissive but save me, every time I land in trouble?” With a gulp at the bottom of my throat, I asked him.

He didn’t reply that.

Instead, he sighed, crunching the plastic bottle in his hand. He threw it in anger to the other side of the room. Then he approached me. I took three steps back, with my hands suddenly becoming sweaty.

What was he doing?

His intimidating darkened gaze dropped towards mine. He didn’t stop until the back of my head was in contact with the wall. Only then did his both hands angle at the sides of my head. My chin directed below. My eyes immediately gorged at his hard-on.

Flash backs of the night we had together immediately ran through my brain. The only thing I could think of was the way my mouth was wrapped around him.

By the time my eyes directed to him, there were veins spreading out his forehead. His Adam’s apple swallowed numerous times, making me wonder what he had in mind.

It was like one of those scenes of movies.

Like he was in a battle with himself.

But the question was, what was he so protective about? Why didn’t he like making conversations with females?

“I’m never gonna change, Phoebe. Remember that,” he solidly let out, walking past me. Paralyzed on my spot, I was so unsure of what to do.

“Return my shirt back the minute you get your clothes from the laundry.” he spat out.

My eyes directed down to the saggy shirt, just below.

So, it was his?

I felt my body tremble in a fit of annoyance.

Sighing it off, I yanked the shirt away from my body, not caring about what I was wearing under it. I threw the shirt angrily at him.

“If this is how you’ll act, then I don’t want to wear it.” I crazily let out. His eyes crept with mine in shock.

“W-What are you doing?” Asher said, with his eyes rummaging through my body. They looked surprised at my actions. With one last glance at him, I begun to head out in anger. My hands reached for the door knob, twisting it. Just as I opened it, a hand dragged mine.

Asher pulled me to his chest, with my raven hair swinging in the air.

“Have you gone mad? Why would you go out like this?” he asked, referring to my underwear. Even if it was a bra and panties, I would try and figure it all on my own.

“Let go of me, Asher Gilbert. You certainly have no right to tell me what to do,” I told him, with my lips pressed in a frown.

I pretended not to notice the proximity between us and the intense chemistry that lurked in the air. His burning gaze fleeted against mine. Slowly, I untangled his hand which snaked around my waist.

My hand reached for the door knob, once more.

“Wait,” he said.

Desperately, I watched him, unsure of what his intentions were. He directed his lean waist towards a part of the room. Getting something in his hands, he walked towards me, once more.

“Since you won’t wear that because it’s for me, wear this.” he voiced out, handing me a hoodie.

“It’s Jacob’s” Handing it to me, he grimaced.

I knew Jacob. He was      Asher’s friend, and also a member of the frat house. We had been sitting mates when I was at grade 5. He had this curly hair and wore a thick-rimmed glass. One of those weird kids, that did really weird things, out of the blue.

I remember the day he pissed on his pants.

“Well?” he made out. I nodded, moving to go, but he held me one more time.

“What?” I sighed out, already freaked out by his dismissive but pestering ways. What exactly did he want from me?

“Last time,” he said.

“For?”

“Let it be the last time we speak ever again.” he said. My eyes flickered in a bit of hurt. I didn’t even realize it when I ran outside the doorway.

Phoebe’s POV It was 10:46pm and Asher hadn't returned nor called me or even texted. Cole had texted that they had gotten to their hotel room about two hours ago and had asked if I wanted anything which I had declined. The more I waited the more I kept imagining what Asher was doing with that girl. Coraline or Cordelia whatever her name was. I was startled by the sound of opening and closing of our hotel door. It was Asher. He stood looking at me for some minutes. I kept silent. "What you did was immature Phoebe." he seethed. "That was a low blow." Who the fuck was he telling that? "Now you're talking to me about immaturity and low blows?" I asked him. "You weren't supposed to insult her like that and shit." I laughed unbelievably. "Whew!” I let out. “I can't believe you're saying this to me." I said. "There was absolutely nothing to get angry over." Asher went on and I just kept watching him like I was seeing him for the first time. "So I was gonna sit there and watch

At that, I could see that red light blare in my head. No one had to tell me that. "Define fun in your language." Roxanne said. "Like getting to know each other..." He trailed opening his arms. That infuriated me. "I'm fucking pregnant!" I said loudly. A few heads turned. "Uh-oh." Roxanne said. "Wasn't that hint enough?" I asked as he looked at me startled. "I have a boyfriend and so does she." I said to them. "Alright, alright." Dave said as they both retreated still facing us and raising their hands plicately. Good. Did I overreact? Then they turned and left. I looked at my friend and there was this… Roxanne burst into a serious feat of laughter and I'm forced to join her as I couldn't help myself. Yeah, that was it… "Did you see the look on their faces when you yelled?" she asked still cracking up. "I kno
