Chapter 3

Damaria

I watched Louissa as she prepares for the fight, I am sitting on the bench at the preparation area that was given to the “Assets” of the family. She isn’t smiling as usual, so I’m sure that something must’ve happened at the tea party.

A knight came to her just as she finished preparing for her battle. I stared at them while they are talking. This is the first time for Louissa to act this way, she would usually smile, she will only act this way if she’s furious, I wonder what happened to the tea party I thought, but then my thoughts were disturbed when I heard her talk to me.

“Big sister, I’m gonna freeze here if you’ll keep staring at me like that,” she told me, I smiled at her.

“I’m just checking your outfit, it looks cute,” I said, she chuckled as she started walking towards the arena. She waved at me before going in, of course, I waved back at her.

“For the second battle of the day! Let us welcome, A Lady who resembles a red rose, A beautiful but dangerous Lady! Let us welcome, Louissa Solce Revoltoir!” he said, Louissa walked out to the Arena with her beautiful dagger as tons of crowds cheer for her. I hate it, I feel like an animal being put in a cage to fend for myself I thought. I looked at Jeanne and Coraline, they’re smiling, and it’s disgusting.

“Did you prepare your earplugs for tonight?” I asked Allein, he nodded as he kept on cleaning his sword. Just how long are gonna clean it for? It already looks so sparkly I thought as I stare at him. I was about to ask him but I was interrupted by the cheer of the crowds.

I looked at the match but it’s already done because I saw a body lying there, and a bloody Louissa. These two, always getting blood on themselves I thought as I shook my head. I was about to turn around to leave the arena when a hand was placed on my shoulder. I don’t even need to turn around to look at who it is.

“What?” I asked without even looking, of course, I removed her hand from my shoulder. This is so boring I feel like I’m gonna vomit.

“Do well tomorrow, you have to win no matter what” she said. I scoffed as I finally looked at her, she was staring at me.

“Why? Are you that hungry for Father’s dick?” I asked. I saw her turn red as a tomato and she glared at me.

“Hmph, still insolent as ever, anyway, you better win Beatrice or you will know not to disobey me again,” she said then she left. I stood there emotionless, no, actually I was shocked. Shocked at her stupidity.

Is she dumb? Of course, I won’t fucking lose I won’t relinquish my life if it’s not for my siblings I thought, I went back to the waiting area and I saw Louissa looking all depressed at the bench. I walked towards her then I made a chair out of Ice then I sat in front of her, please, I don’t want to seat on a bench filled with stinky sweat I thought.

“What’s wrong?” I asked as I crossed my left leg to my right then I placed my hands on the arm handle as I seat comfortably on my chair. It feels good, I like how cold it is in this hot weather.

Louissa gave a big sigh and she looked even more depressed. I heard someone walking towards us and it was Allein. I’ll ask him instead; I think he knows something I thought.

“What happened to Louissa?” I asked, he sat on the bench first before answering my question.

“It seems that she lost her earplugs from her room,” he said. I looked at her and I placed my hands on her shoulder. She looked at me as If she wants me to console her. I grinned.

“Good luck sleeping well tonight sis, I shall wish for your well-being,” I said. She facepalmed at what I said. Allein was trying really hard to not laugh at what I said.

Oh, right. You might be wondering why Mikael and Mikaela aren’t here, they are not here because both of them are doing a job given by father. That’s right! I think they’re dying because of sleep deprivation!

“Sister, I wanted you to cheer me up,” she said with a sigh. I looked at her all confused, I mean Hey! That was meant to cheer her up you know!

“It’s no use Louissa, you know how dense big sister can get,” Allein said as he shook his head. My, the audacity of these two I thought as I smiled sweetly at them, they looked at me all confused.

“Big Sister! We’re sorry!” they both shouted, but I started walking away leaving them all trapped there. With my Ice. I left the arena and then I went home to take a bath and to sleep on my bed. Don’t worry about them, they will be able to get out of there. Louissa can teleport herself using the shadows of other people after all, while Allein can break the ice with his sword.

I was bathing peacefully when someone knocked on my door. I went out of my bath and I used my bathrobe to cover my body, then I sat on my study table.

“Come in,” I said. A maid came in and she bowed “I greet my lady, Damaria” she said, she was shaking. Probably a new maid I thought.

“Raise your head and state the reason why you came here?” I asked. She raised her head and she answered ”The Madam is requesting for you to the Dining room, she wants to dine with you, my lady”.

I raised my eyebrow at her for a while but I smiled instead “Alright, tell her I’ll be there in a second, I will just change my clothes” I said, the maid bowed again, and then she left the room. Good, it seems that they are able to teach her that I always wear my clothes alone I thought, that is of course if I’m not going to an event.

I went to my closet to look for a dress, I took a silver gown with flower embroidery on it. After wearing it, I used some Dark Blue butterfly pins to use on my hair, I did a little bit of make-up then I went outside to go to the Dining room.

“Hello, Beatrice” Mother greeted as she took a sip from her wine. I sat down at the chair on the other side of the table. I smiled at her as the servants took my food out.

“Hello, mother” I greeted Ugh, disgusting, I better rinse my mouth later I thought as I smiled. When my food arrived, I started eating. Of course, it wasn’t like this since the beginning, because I too, wished for familial love when I was a child. But it seems that I woke up to reality, too early.

I woke up to the reality that not everything you wish will be granted…
