ARYM ZCHRYNNE “MaiMai” –
“Feel at home, wife. Everything here is yours too.”
Sir Jasper—well, my husband now—is such a flirt. It still feels awkward calling my boss “my husband.”
I couldn’t do anything when Jasper insisted on taking me to his home. I guess I really have to accept that I got married out of the blue. Ugh, it hasn’t even been a month since my breakup, and now I suddenly have a husband. Cheers to alcohol.
Before I agreed to go with him, we made a deal: we’d try living together and fulfilling our responsibilities as husband and wife for one year. If no love or child came out of it, he’d file for annulment and we’d go our separate ways like strangers.
Our months together have been peaceful enough. Though sometimes, I catch Jasper staring longingly at a photo of his ex-girlfriend. I can still see the sadness and regret in his eyes.
I’ll admit—I’ve grown to love him. I keep wishing he’d learn to love me too, so we wouldn’t have to part ways. I don’t want to force him to love me, so I just do everything I can—even if it means being his slave in bed whenever he’s hurting and haunted by memories of his past love.
People around us know about our situation, so we sometimes become the subject of teasing.
“Ugh! What is this? My stomach feels so sour!” I blurted out, feeling dizzy and nauseous. I rushed to the bathroom to throw up, but barely anything came out. I felt so weak.
“It’s already six in the morning and my husband still isn’t home?” I asked myself. After washing my face and brushing my teeth, I checked my phone for any messages or missed calls from Jasper. Nothing. I was disappointed. I figured he probably spent the night drinking again—probably because of his ex.
Someone told me that last month, they saw Jasper begging Yasmine, his ex-girlfriend, to talk to him. Since then, he’s often come home drunk. Sometimes, like today, he doesn’t come home at all. When he does, he just showers, drinks coffee, and leaves again. He never even touches the breakfast I prepare for him. Eventually, I lose my appetite too and head to work without eating. I can’t even remember the last time we had a proper conversation—it feels like it’s been ages.
I try to ignore the pain in my heart. I remind myself that he’s still married to me. I’m still the legal wife. And besides, his ex is already married to his older brother.
I didn’t wait for Jasper to come home. I just got myself ready for work. I didn’t bother cooking either—I had no appetite, and I was sure he wouldn’t eat anyway.
While at the office, I decided to ask for medicine at the clinic for my stomach. I also had my blood pressure checked because of the frequent dizziness.
“Your blood pressure is low, ma’am. Do you often stay up late?” the nurse asked as she removed the cuff.
“Not really. I get enough sleep. In fact, I often feel sleepy even after more than eight hours of rest.”
“Do you feel anything else besides dizziness?”
“My stomach often feels sour, and I end up vomiting.”
“Hmmm… I’m guessing this usually happens in the morning?”
“Yes, you’re right. I woke up feeling sick.”
The nurse nodded.
“Ma’am MaiMai, when was your last menstruation?” I paused, trying to remember.
“Uh… maybe two months ago? I’m not sure.” My eyes widened at the thought—I might be pregnant.
The nurse and I locked eyes as she smiled at me.
“Based on everything you’ve said, I suggest you take a pregnancy test. Whatever the result, you should see a doctor.”
I felt a rush of excitement. I didn’t wait any longer—I took a half-day off so I could still catch an open clinic. I hoped this was the answer that would keep my husband and me from separating. Perfect timing too—our first wedding anniversary is next week. I planned to surprise him if the result was positive.
“Congratulations, Mrs. Smith! You’re eight weeks pregnant.”
It sounded so beautiful. I felt like I was floating in the clouds from sheer joy.
After the check-up, I went straight to the mall to browse maternity clothes and baby items. I didn’t plan to buy anything yet—I was just excited. I lost track of time and ended up staying out until evening.
Even when I got home, I was still smiling. It felt amazing to know there was life growing inside me.
“Where have you been?” my husband asked seriously. His aura scared me.
“Uh… just at the mall, hon.”
“You took a half-day off just to go to the mall? Were you meeting your other man?” he asked angrily.
“What are you talking about? I don’t have another man, Jasper. I wasn’t feeling well earlier, so I was going to head home. Then I remembered I had something to check.”
I answered calmly. I didn’t want to ruin my happy mood.
“That’s bullshit! You had something to check and it took you all day? Just admit it—you’re seeing someone else!”
“Ouch! What the hell?! Let go of me! You’re hurting me!”
“You’ll really get hurt if I catch you fooling around. Got it?”
Jasper’s grip on my jaw and arm was painful. I couldn’t believe he could hurt me like this over a misunderstanding.
He shoved me away, and I fell onto the sofa.
“Fck! Bullsht!” he cursed as he stormed out of the house. I heard the car engine roar.
I stared blankly, tears streaming down my face. I couldn’t believe what had just happened.
“What happened? Why did Jasper seem like a completely different person?”
My arm was red from where he had gripped me tightly. I placed my hand over my two-month-old belly.
“Let’s just forgive your daddy, baby. He’s probably tired from work. He doesn’t know you’re in mommy’s tummy yet—that’s why he acted that way. I’m sure he didn’t mean it.”
Yes… that’s right. He didn’t mean it.

They were agitated and didn't know what to do.“Why aren't they here yet?” Sven asked anxiously.“Yeah, it’s been minutes, but not one of them has come out yet.” Yago said worriedly.“They haven't changed their minds, have they? Like they became runaway brides?” Cosmo asked fearfully.“There you go! Because you guys are idiots! Taking a bath is a thing! Hahahaha!” Jasper said mockingly. The three of them simultaneously gave Jasper a deadly look.“Shut up, man!” Dax Yago said. “The brides are here.” announced the man assigned to open the church gate.It wasn't difficult for Apple, Lovebel, and Zabrynna to get along like sisters, thanks also to MaiMai, so the three decided to have a triple wedding.Their fiancés weren't in favor, but they couldn't do anything because the women threat

I was about to kiss her on the lips but she immediately pushed me away and covered her mouth.“Hey, wait a minute! I haven't brushed my teeth yet.” Now I know that she is always conscious of her smell. She smells so good, especially her pus… Nevermind. She just smells good, from head to toe.I laughed at Apple when she sat up. She wrapped her whole body thickly, so only her hands and face were visible. It seemed she was shy for me to see her naked body, her alluring body.I suddenly felt hot when I remembered what happened between us last night. It was indeed a night to remember.“You don't have to be shy, sweetheart. I love every part of your body, even your intimate areas.” I pinched her flushed cheeks, which made her pout and glare at me. This is another thing I liked about her, her beautiful eyes. They're slightly slanted

The way she asked it, combined with her seductive-sounding voice, gave me a different feeling. It was soft yet captivating. This must be the doing of the alcohol; I was imagining all sorts of things.“Y-yeah! So please get up before it digs in further.” For goodness sake, she's a living temptation!“Uhm… later. It feels so good here. Don’t be a buzzkill, sir.” My hand trembled when she rubbed her lower body against me. I wanted to stop her from what she was doing because it wasn't right, yet I also didn't want to. What she was doing felt so good! Sh*t!My fists were clenched because I was holding myself back from pushing her away. Could I be selfish, just for now? I wasn't taking advantage of her; she was the one who didn't want to leave my lap. I wanted to give myself the freedom to meet another woman. For a long time, all I saw was MaiMai.

Just because you have two testicles, should you have two women too? Why?! You only have one d*ck, right??! Why??? Answer me, sir!” a woman I didn't know said drunkenly. I just shook my head at what she said. I haven't experienced having a mistress, so I can't relate to her.Her face and neck were flushed red from being so drunk. I hadn't paid attention to her at first because she was quietly drinking. Our tables were next to each other here in the al fresco area of a resto-bar near the sea.I was quietly drinking alcohol, too. I wanted to get drunk because of the extreme pain in my heart. The alcohol was starting to hit me because I could feel the numbness in my cheeks.I couldn't accept that despite my sacrifice, the woman I had loved for a long time still didn't choose me. Until now, she still sees me as only a best friend and a brother. I love M

My shoulders slumped at his words. If I had known we weren't allowed to sleep together, I would have banged my Love already. But no! Where there's a will, there's a way.“Tatay, where will my husband— I mean, Yago— sleep then? The living room has mosquitoes.” My Love said with a pout. I secretly smiled at her protest. I touched her thigh near her groin and gently squeezed it. What I did wasn't noticeable because it was under the table.“Don’t argue there. He’s been sleeping in the living room for over two weeks and he hasn’t complained.” Tatay said gruffly. Nanay laughed at the exchange between father and daughter.“You, too, dear. There really are a lot of mosquitoes in the living room. Just let him sleep in the other room.” Nanay said with a smile while

I preferred this time so the heat wouldn't hurt my skin.We didn't bring any food for lunch here in the field today because Nanay (Mother) said she would bring it after she finished cooking. All we brought was drinking water, a pack of pandesal (Filipino bread rolls), and black coffee in a thermos. There was a small hut on top of the hill where we could rest, and it also had some kitchen supplies.Tatay and I separated our areas for harvesting. He would get the bitter melon, eggplant, and okra, while I would get the cucumber, squash, chili, and papaya. We had quite a lot to harvest, so it would definitely take us until the afternoon.I didn't notice the time pass. I decided to go back to the hut first to drink water. As I approached the hut, I heard voices, but I couldn't understand what they were
