Chapter 29 "The Eccentric Guard"

Yuri’s POV

My thoughts were still in a whirlwind after my recent encounter with Mikhail. I struggled to calm my racing heart, so I remained in my room, lost in my own thoughts. It wasn’t until the enticing aroma of food reached my nostrils that I realized I was famished.

Instinctively, my gaze shifted towards the staircase. Without hesitation, I descended the stairs, making my way towards the kitchen of this magnificent tree-built house.

As I reached the bottom, my eyes fell upon the spread of food laid out on the table, just as it had been the previous night.

I was about to take a seat at the table when my attention was captivated by the presence of a man standing by the door.

Standing by the door, exuding an air of strictness, was a man with jet-black hair, eyes as piercing as a fox, and a seductive claw scar that traced across his left eye. He was the male werewolf who had accompanied me the previous night.

I found myself contemplating whether his role was to guard me.
