Bella is sound asleep, once again lying less than five feet away. Only this time she feels so much further away. Even though she asked him to stay with them, he knows it was not because she wanted him around. It was because Chad had wanted the security of having his alpha beside him should there be another attack. As for Bella, she would not do anything to upset the child. Had Chad asked her to walk through fire for him, Adam had not a doubt in his mind that she would have done it.
