Selena turned to Damian and showed her surprised expression. And behind her, there were now many men who looked surprised by Selena's presence as well. It made them look pale as they were unaware of Selena's presence around the main door, which would get them in trouble for being caught off guard watching the inside of the mansion.
Damian himself now showed no expression of pleasure or annoyance. His face was flat and he waited for Selena to explain the situation. He stepped closer and glanced at his subordinates who were behind Selena. "Why are you here? You know, this is quite far from your room. And, how did you get here without anyone noticing?" Damian looked closely at Selena. "Euh..." Selena became a little nervous, after all, before getting here, she had gotten help from one of Damian's subordinates who inexplicably helped her. "What were you guys doing that you didn't realize she was already here?" Damian looked at his subordinates. "So what if I intend to escape? Obviously I wanted to escape. First, you treated me badly. Second, I really don't think this has anything to do with me. I shouldn't be here," Selena retorted. "Then, of course I didn't get caught. If I had gotten caught, I wouldn't have gotten here, until I did. What runaway wouldn't be careful in their escape? Only a fool," Selena continued, squeaking at Damian in annoyance. Damian raised one eyebrow. "Does that mean you realize you're a fool?" "It's not like that. I was careful enough to get here!" For some reason, Selena felt compelled to explain. Maybe it was because of the man who had just helped her. That man could be-could definitely be punished if caught helping a prisoner escape by telling her where the main door was. "Take her back to the room!" said Damian. And one of his subordinates who was as big as Damian approached Selena and immediately grabbed Selena's body onto one of his shoulders. He carried Selena like a potato sack. Selena was shocked and tried to rebel. "Hey, hey! Put me down! I can walk on my own! Hey!" screamed Selena as the man walked after Damian while carrying her. Arriving in the hallway of her room, a well-dressed woman leaned against one of the walls as she watched Damian's arrival. A smile was etched on her lips at the sight of Damian. Merry. Coming to an abrupt stop, Selena lifted her head and looked behind her, where Damian who was walking first stopped. Selena frowned as she saw a woman approach Damian and kiss his lips. Damian gave a slight reaction by wrapping his arms around the woman's waist. "Let go of me!" screamed Selena as she felt she had a chance. "Well, well... A very loud young girl's voice." Merry glanced at Selena who was struggling. "Hey!" Selena continued to punch the man holding her, he seemed to be trying hard even though it seemed that Selena's punches were not a problem for him. "What did you do to her this time?" asked Merry. "I haven't done anything yet. She's trying to escape and has reached the front door. Looks like I'll have to change her room, since she already knows the route to the main door," Damian muttered. "Sounds good." Merry smiled so sweetly that her eyes were crescent-shaped. "I'll have to talk to her first." Damian walked off again coldly, leaving the woman without another word. And Selena was taken to her room again. She was dropped quite roughly onto her bed. And the man holding her then walked out of her room, leaving Damian with Selena, just the two of them. The way Selena looked at Damian showed her bad feelings. "What did you want to talk about?" asked Selena curtly. "Your relationship with Axel used to be that good, huh?" replied Damian as he loosened his tie and walked over to the sofa, sitting down. Selena lifted her legs up onto the bed and looked at Damian while scrutinizing what Damian really wanted to talk about. Damian looked back at Selena, who seemed to remain alert. "Not really. Our relationship was good in the beginning, until it deteriorated over time and finally ended. Do you still think I'm on Axel's side? I could be on your side, you know! But, I don't intend to complicate my life by getting involved in this kind of thing," Selena squeaked. "I won't trust people that easily, if you're thinking of manipulating my mind by being on my side. In my eyes, you're on Axel's side." "I'm neutral then." Selena crossed her arms. "By the way, I forgot to punish you for trying to escape." Damian then got up from his seat. Selena immediately widened her eyes. Selena's level of alertness slowly increased upwards. She seemed to be observing Damian as well, slightly tense over the atmosphere created by that one sentence from Damian's lips. "And, I got these photos. They shed a lot of light on your past relationship. And I don't believe it ended like that. Axel even proposed to you. That's a sign that Axel trusts you. You must know more about him." Damian tossed the photos he'd taken from Selena's house. And they immediately scattered on the bed, close to Selena. Selena stared at the photos with trembling. Because if Damian's thinking was that strong, she couldn't avoid it. "Where did you get these pictures?" Selena took one of them, and turned it upside down, so that she could tell if it had the features she gave it. "You know where I got them from, right?" Damian stood right next to Selena. Selena looked down at the photo. The photo where she was smiling so wide with Axel. The handsome man she was so afraid to lose. Now, she hated him for dragging her into the unknown. Damian's hand reached out to Selena's face. The cold-eyed man slowly lifted Selena's face, to look at her. And once Selena looked up, there was sadness that Damian could see in her eyes. "I'm not curious how your relationship ended. Because the way I see it, you're still in contact. Do you miss him? Do you want to see him soon? Then let's lure him out of his hiding place!" Damian smiled. Damian pulled his tie off and leaned closer to Selena. Selena pulled back to keep her distance. "What do you want to do?!" screeched Selena. "You don't know. A man and a woman, in a room... You hope nothing happens?" Damian raised one eyebrow. Selena brushed Damian's hand away from her face, her face now looking more fierce. "Aww, look at this little cat's expression..." Damian chuckled. "I wonder if Axel will ignore you or not? After I touch you.""This time I'm sure Selena won't reject me. I'll propose to her properly," Damian said. "When exactly are you going to propose to Selena?" Hendry looked at Damian with curiosity. Damian was silent as he smiled at the lost ring box. Suffice to say, he had simply forgotten where he kept it. He hadn't paid any attention to it since Selena rejected him. He just forgot about it. Until a few days ago when Damian was about to buy a new ring, he was reminded by Luca that he had bought a ring before for Selena. What's more, Damian was a little confused and thought about how he could know Selena's finger size when he was about to buy a new ring. And it was Luca who struggled to find the ring. Luca is the one who will always have a hard time around Damian. That's why Grace planned to take Luca away if they managed to get married, she would take Luca and herself away and find a new job. *** "Today we're going for a walk to the lake. There's really nothing special t
Damian sighed as he walked out of the meeting room and looked down at his phone. There was a message from Selena that made him smile as soon as he saw the photo. The photo Selena sent him made him unable to help but smile. To which he replied to the message. Damian: Adorable. "You're smiling at your phone right now? You don't usually smile at people but you're smiling so sincerely at your phone?" Damian immediately turned to the source of the voice. The voice had too suddenly appeared in his office. It was none other than Hendry who entered his office without permission. Hendry seemed curious as to what made Damian smile like that. Although the biggest possibility he could figure out was Selena. "That's none of your business. What are you doing here? If you came just to ask about Selena again, Selena won't be coming home for a while," Damian sneered. "Ah, I see. It looks like Selena is adjusting to having her mother there." Damian sat back in his chair.
In the morning, Selena had just washed her hair and was rubbing her hair with a towel while gazing at the view on her balcony. She was enjoying the fresh air after a warm shower that morning. She looked fresh in her new clothes that were just the right size. Sabrina approached Selena with pleasure. After all, the girl had already shown to open herself up. And that made Sabrina not hesitate to approach Selena directly. "You've already taken a shower. Oh, you shouldn't rub her hair like that with a towel, it would be better to dry it using a hair dryer and give vitamins to your hair. Just a moment, I'll bring everything." Selena looked at her in confusion. After all, as long as she lived she could not afford to buy a hairdryer. She also dried her hair like that most of the time. However, Selena didn't want to rebel. She agreed to sit on the carpet as her mother sat on the sofa behind her. Selena stared at the television that was playing her favorite cartoon, Molang. She felt awkward
"What do you mean you can't find them at all?!" Derek snapped. He had tried to find any trace of Selena and Axel, but there was nothing left. How Selena and Axel had simply vanished, disappearing from circulation made him grunt in annoyance. He couldn't find them at all. Arsella stared at her father blankly. Somehow she felt very empty just because of the fact that Selena was currently missing with Axel. And Damian didn't move to look for them at all. It was rumored that Damian was busy taking care of his company and business. Even that afternoon, Damian was enjoying his time exercising at the gym. Knowing that this was supported by Damian as well, there was nothing they could do at all. *** "What did you do when you lived with your father?" asked Sabrina while looking at Selena who was eating her food quietly. "I just wasted his money. I shopped for things I wanted, I did everything I couldn't do before," Selena replied while enjoying her food. "M
"What do you mean you were ra-?" Sabrina was lost for words, she couldn't hear a word Selena said. It wasn't that she didn't know what had happened to Selena. She knew bad things were happening to her and that was the biggest possibility. However, if Damian got his hands on the video too, Sabrina was going to be furious. She gave Selena a serious look. "That bastard," Sabrina swore as she averted her eyes in annoyance. Selena didn't answer her mother at all. She glanced at Axel. Even though the video hadn't reached Axel, Axel had already experienced being there when Damian and Selena did it. It made Selena shudder a little to remember. She also didn't know why she was bringing it up all of a sudden. No, if only Sabrina hadn't talked about the reason why Selena was kidnapped to how she reacted when Damian sent her an email about Selena's kidnapping. *** There was no video. Damian didn't send that video to Axel. Not knowing if she should be relieved or wh
"If you feel discarded, I feel used. However, if you are discarded, then your mother will never find out about your life at all, or donate money to the orphanage. Your mother would not have sent me as an intermediary between you and your mother." Selena gulped. Her expression seemed to soften. This time, she sympathized with Axel who felt used for his mother's needs in providing for Selena."But believe me, I don't envy you at all. Because in my eyes, you're just another person I love. I don't care where you're from, as long as we're not related by blood. We're just like strangers who are destined to meet and fall in love with each other." Axel looked at Selena softly, his gaze hinting at many things, telling Selena that in this world everyone also experienced difficult times and pain. Trembling, Selena caught her breath. This made her melt a little and try to understand Axel's or her mother's position. She tried hard to understand both of their conditions. Howeve
