เข้าสู่ระบบAlcohol is not a good recommendation after a painful heartbreak. I wish someone had told me earlier. I'm Lilian Taylor and my boyfriend of 2 years dumped me painfully over a text. I decided to drown my sorrows in a night of drinks and that lead me to have a one-night stand with a stranger. The morning after, before he would see me as a slut. I paid him for the sex and deeply insulted his ability to satisfy me. I was determined to forget the encounter and move on but this stranger turned out to be my new boss! Now I must decide whether risking my heart again is worth the chance at true love.

I sat hunched over the counter of the bar, with my fingers wrapped tightly around the glass in front of me. "I'm done believing in love.” I mumbled to myself as I downed a glass of tequila. The bitter taste burned down my throat, but I welcomed the sting. I know I shouldn't be drinking. I wasn't even the drinking type, but I wanted to forget about the dull ache that had been tearing my heart apart since the evening began. Still...the alcohol wasn't helping A dry "hah" slipped out of my lips. The bartender gave me a quick look, clearly concerned, but said nothing. Maybe he had seen enough broken people to know when someone just needed space. "Three years.Three years of my life gone with one heartless text.” My phone laid facedown on the counter. I didn't even want to look at it anymore. The words on the screen kept echoing in my head: "it's over Lily. I don't think this is working anymore. Sorry.” Kaz didn't even have the decency to say it to my face, a cold text message was all I was worth to him. How could he do this to me after three years? Was I not classy enough for him? My phone beeped. Out of curiosity, I picked it up to check. "What !” How is this even possible? Kaz is getting married ! Seeing the engagement pictures of him with another girl online, broke me even more. She looked so classy...so happy in the pictures...gosh, that could have been me, but no. He just broke up with me a few hours ago...over a text. How could he have moved on so easily? It made me wonder if I ever meant anything to him at all or I was just a pawn in his game all these years. Oh God. I thought what we had was real. I gulped another glass of tequila and winced slightly. "Hah...I'm never falling in love again.” "Rough night?" The voice came from my left. Deep and soothing with a kind of charm that made me curious. I didn't even realise that someone had sat beside me. I suddenly felt uncomfortable. I let out a faint smile, the type of smile that showed I wasn't interested in talking. Especially to a man. With every intention of leaving, I grabbed my bag and turned to slide off the high stool but then I realised I had turned towards him. The silence that followed didn't make things any easier. I looked up slowly and my eyes landed on him, he was looking right at me. He was...stunning. Broad shoulders, sharp jawline that seemed almost too perfect. His eyes held something mischievous. He wore a fitted black shirt that hugged his frame just right, and the faint scent of expensive cologne drifted towards me. For a second, I forgot how to breathe. Lily, get your acts together. "I...I was about to leave.” "Hey damsel. Please don't leave it on my account". He said, smiling faintly. His deep voice hit me like a wrecking ball. His lips drew my eyes and I had the sudden desire to press my lips against his own. What is wrong with me? It's probably the alcohol. "Hope you don't mind sharing a drink with me?" He asked. I should decline, but I endorsed. something about his courage, his deep soothing voice and the way his eyes never left mine kept pulling me in. I sat back down and stared at him...my body was betraying me and I couldn't control it "You look like you're carrying the weight of the whole world.” He teased me. I let out a loud laugh. This time it was a genuine one. He stretched forth his hands towards my face and brushed a strand of hair away from my face, his fingers felt so tender on my cheek and before I could stop myself, my body betrayed me. I felt warmth gathering between my thighs. I shifted on my seat pretending it was nothing , but the truth pressed in harder with every second I looked at him. He leaned forward towards me and his lips brushed against mine. My heart was racing for reasons that had nothing to do with heartbreak. **************** The steamed harsh sunlight stabbing at my closed eyelids woke me up. I placed my hand on my forehead. My head pounded mercilessly, the bitter punishment for last night's drinking. Slowly, I shifted. Turning away from the sunlight. but my eyes snapped open the moment I realised that I wasn't in my room. What the hell? "Ouch.” My head ached so bad. The room looked luxurious. It wasn't anything I was used to. The sheets were soft, far softer than the ones on my own bead. I looked around and saw clothes scattered carelessly on the floor. My dress...his shirt. My shoes were tossed near the door. I mentally assessed myself. Oh my God! I'm naked! The sound of running water reached my ears. He was in there, showering. Oh... I felt so tender between my legs. My heart dropped... memories from last night came rushing back...Getting drunk and meeting that strange man...it seems like we had a little conversation...his smile, his touch, the way his lips had tasted against mine and then we ended up in a hotel room. "Oh God,” I whispered. I sat up quickly, the feel of the duvet against my bare skin made me panic with shame and regret all at once. I just had a one night stand with a stranger. A man I met hours ago. My pulse quickened. I've never slept with a stranger before.I can't face him. Not like this. What would I even say? "Thanks for the distraction?" "Sorry I used you to forget my heartbreak?" I have to run. With trembling hands, I gathered my clothes from the floor and dressed up as quickly as I could. Every sound felt magnified... The bathroom door opened! And then he walked out.~ LILLIAN'S POV ~ "Miss Tylor, You look nervous, I honestly didn't want to see you again but for the record I need to make you understand that asides from being the CEO of dove fashion, I have no side jobs so take back you 100 dollar. I swallowed. I can't believe he came all the way to my place of work to clarify that he wasn't a prostitute "I understand sir" . I said forcing a smile. I picked up a 100 dollar note from the table. That night never happened... I exhaled, extremely relieved. I turned to leave and... "Oh don't be shy, come pick up the change I mean you clearly need it". Javier's voice called out. So demeaning. I bit my lower lip and I tried to control my temper. I reminded myself how badly I needed this job. I can't afford to mess things up. I turned back slowly and picked up the rest of the money on the table. Still embarrassed, I forced a smile on my face "Thank you sir". I responded. ********* As soon. As I got back to the bar, Lojain came over.
~ LILLIAN'S POV ~ I slipped in a bottle of goûte de diamants into the ice bucket. The weight dug into my palms as I carried it carefully to him. I was nervous as heck. I shakely dropped the drink on the table infront of him. "Here's your drink sir" I can't believe the man I had a one night stand with and humiliated was trying to get back at him. His head was still buried in his cellphone. he didn't acknowledge my presence, so I turned to leave. " pour me a glass ." His deep baritone announced. Reluctantly, I turned back. He had lifted up his head. " Okay sir ." I answered offering him a cheerful smile. Maybe... just maybe he could see me as a different person... a nice person that I am. He leaned back on the leather couch and looked at me with disdain. Like my presence was irritating to him. I felt very uncomfortable and tried my hardest not to tremble. "For someone who claims to be so sophisticated I thought you would have a better job." He said, nonc
~ LILLIAN'S POV ~ The exterior was nothing to write home about, the faded black paint had dulled into a weary shade, with scratches all over, it told stories of sun, rain and years of hands that couldn't afford luxury wax. The back bumper bore a strip of peeling tape like a bandage over an old wound. Inside, the car carried pieces of my life. The faint smell of coffee from my shift cups lingered in the upholstery, mixed with the sweetness of strawberry gum that I chewed to stay awake on late drives. The dusty dashboard had a tiny crack, the air conditioner didn't blow as cool as it should, the steering wheel was worn smooth in places where my hands always rested, and the radio only caught two stations both cracking with static, but I didn't mind. Dangling from the rearview mirror was a silver cross, it glinted faintly in the streetlights at night. It wasn't just decoration; it was my anchor, my quiet reminder that even in the hardest days, God still watched over me. I glanc
~ LILLIAN'S POV ~ I had just finished slipping on my shoes. I didn't want to look at him but his voice stopped me. My heart was beating uncontrollably. I couldn't help but notice his manly features. He was my type to a T. A piece of white towel was wrapped around his waist. He moved with the kind of confidence that made it clear he was used to being admired. He looked so sexy...so hot...I dared not compare him to kaz. Memories of our sex last night invaded my mind again...the way he was sliding inside and repeatedly stroking me. Oh...he had done it so good. I felt hot all over. Oh no! This was not the time to think about how good he was. I shook my head and forced myself to stop thinking about him. All this while he was just there...as calm as a cucumber. Maybe if he had said a simple good morning, although nothing was good about the morning...then maybe...just maybe I wouldn't have been so anxious. Wait... Why is he staring at me like that? What. did
