“The man threatened to cut off my penis if I didn’t allow him to kill my wife,” The man standing on a stage with a bunch of adults and teenagers listening to him takes a deep breath before continuing his life story. “-but jokes on him, my wife didn’t die that night, she came back to life after she was shot in the head. It was a miracle!” He screams and all the people clap and scream with joy in their hearts. Humans have the tendency of believing the worst shit. How can anyone blabber about how their partner died and came back to life and others actually believe? “What the hell is going on in there?” I turn around and my brown eyes clash with blue ones that squint as they notice me staring. Elsa. “Probably a bunch of weirdos trying to convince each other that their lives are more interesting than others.” I say whilst we walk past the tell all hallroom. I pause and look at her again. “What are you doing here anyway?” I ask knowing she’s meant to be in her chemistry class right now. She places her hands on her slim waist and tilts her heart shaped face sideways causing her blonde hair to sway. I have always been jealous of her pale skin. I unfortunately have tanned skin that makes me look like a Latino. “Where are you heading to?” she asks, completely ignoring my question. “Elsa, you can’t answer a question with a question.” I roll my eyes. “Fine, I got bored and saw you passing our class through the window. I came out to see what you were doing.” She says whilst playing with her hair. “I forgot my school bag at home.” I say knowing she’s about to start judging me as always, but what are friends for? She starts to laugh and I roll my eyes again. “Don’t even ask, I honestly don’t know how I forgot it. I’m going back home to get it.” I continue walking and she catches up to me. “I’m coming with you, no one will even notice I’m gone.” She winks and I smile. My place isn’t that far from our school. My dad insisted on finding a highschool that was near him, he’s so overprotective over me. My mom on the other hand could care less as long as I go to school. We reach there in no time and I knock on the door expecting one of my parents to open the door. It’s very early and I hadn’t even attended my first class when I noticed my school bag was missing. They both don’t leave for work till after I’ve had my second class so I’m sure they’ll both still be inside. “Hey Christina…are you sure they're inside?” Elena asks because I’ve been knocking for a while without saying a word. “I don’t understand.. they are usually up and awake by this time.” I sigh. “Have you even tried turning the door knob?” She asks like I’m the dumbest person on earth. “They always lock the door, trust me, it’s not going to be open.” I know how strict my dad is about locking the house. My hand clearly disagrees with me because I don’t even notice when it grabs the handle and pulls it down till I see the door creak open. “See, there we go. That wasn’t so hard now was it?” She emphasizes her statement by shaking her head and throwing out her hands. Usually I’d be amused by her but right now I have a bad feeling that something is terribly wrong. My parents would never leave the door open and they sure as hell would have opened the door even if they were asleep. I ignore the feeling and decide not to say anything because I don’t want to make Elena panic. I push the door open and the moment I step in I instantly regret it. Everything in the living room is a mess. The tv is upside down on the floor, the couches have shifted from their original spot and they all have scratches on them like some kind of animal was tearing them. The house is a simple duplex but right now I wish it was the size of a hut because it’s be so much easier to locate my parents. I hear a gasp and that’s when I remember that Elsa is still here with me. I look towards her direction and see that she’s staring at the stairs. “What the fuck.” She says and places a hand on her chest. I take a deep breath and look at the staircase, what I see has me paralyzed on the spot. There is blood dripping on every single staircase. I finally hear a noise coming from my dads room and I don’t even know how I get the courage to move but I manage to regain my strength. “Elsa, I need you to call 911 and run back to your house.” I hold her shoulders as I speak with a shaky voice. “No.. no- I can’t just-” “This is not the time Elsa!” I yell. “Get the fuck out and call the cops, tell them to get an ambulance down here now!” She nods and runs away and all the strength I thought I had just a second ago vanishes and I find myself holding the wall as I side step the mess on the floor. I walk all the way upstairs ignoring the blood because I will vomit if I stare at it. Once I reach the top, I follow the trail of blood which leads straight to my dads room. On my way there I find about four dead men on the floor. They're all covered in black clothing and they all have masks on. I gulp. I finally reach my dads room but the door is closed so I use my leg to kick it open softly. The first thing I see is two men in black choking my father. They all can’t see me because they are facing my dad and their bodies are blocking my fathers view. I don’t get to react because I look down and see my mothers limp body oozing out blood. The blood is scattered everywhere around her body. This time I don’t hold it in. I scream so loud I probably break all of my vocals. I look back at my dad and see that they have all noticed me due to my scream. The two men in black look at me instead of focusing on my dad which gives him an opening which he uses to bang their heads together and he does it so hard that I can hear their skulls clash. I expected the two men to fall and bleed out but they seem to be absolutely fine even with the blood coming out of their heads. I thought this would be the most unreal thing I’d see today but nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see. My dads entire body starts to shake and elongate, it happens so fast that once I finish blinking, I don’t see three men in the room anymore, it’s only two and one huge gigantic Wolf? Dog? I don’t know what the hell that is but the only correct description would be a werewolf. The werewolf who I believe to be my dad jumps on the two men and kills them using his teeth just as they were about to start becoming hairy and elongating again. Those two men weren’t humans either? What the fuck.CHRISTINAI woke up to the feeling of my hand being held tightly. My eyelids felt heavy, like someone had placed weights on them, and it took several attempts before I could force them open. The room around me was blurry, the edges soft and out of focus.White walls, bright lights and the sterile smell of antiseptic.I blinked several times, trying to clear my vision, and slowly the details came into focus.Medical equipment on my right, a window showing darkness outside and to my left, a chair pulled close to the bed.Marcel.He was sitting there, his elbows on his knees, his head bowed, one hand holding mine while the other covered his face.He looked lost.Lost in thought, lost in worry, lost in whatever storm was raging inside his head.I tried to speak, but my throat was too dry. The sound that came out was barely a whisper."Marcel?"His head snapped up immediately, and the relief that flooded his face was so intense it made my chest ache."Christina," he breathed then louder, "
CHRISTINAI got out of the car, my eyes still fixed on Maxwell and the young omega girl as they were walking away from the gardens, heading toward the forest, toward Maxwell's hidden house. My heart started pounding, taking a weak girl wolf into the woods, he surely wasn't going to talk about the weather with her alone in the woods where his house was far from pack grounds. Not another victim."Maxwell!" I called out, my voice cutting through the quiet evening air.He stopped, turning to look at me, and I saw irritation flash across his face before he smoothed it into that pleasant smile. The omega girl looked uncomfortable, like she'd been caught doing something wrong, her eyes darting between Maxwell and me nervously."I need to speak with Maxwell," I said, walking toward them, I turned to look at the omega who was still looking at me and I raised my brows at her."Alone. You should head back to the pack house."The girl looked at Maxwell, uncertainty clear on her face."It's okay,"
CHRISTINA"I'm going out with Priscilla today," I told Marcel over breakfast the next morning. He looked up from his papers, concern immediately flickering across his face."Where are you going?""Just into town," I said."Shopping, maybe get some food, just spend some time together."Marcel set down his coffee cup. "I'll arrange security for you.""No," I said quickly. "I want to go alone, just me and Priscilla, no guards, no security. Just us."Marcel's jaw tightened. "Christina, I don't think that's safe….""Please," I said. "I just want one normal day with my friend, without feeling like I'm being watched or protected or managed for just one day, can you do that for me?"He studied my face for a long moment, conflict clear in his eyes. Finally, he sighed in defeat."Fine," he said. "But take one of my cars and take this." He pulled out his credit card and slid it across the table toward me. "Get whatever you want, don't worry about the cost."I picked up the card, surprised. "M
CHRISTINA POV I spent the entire next morning searching for Maxwell, I asked everyone I came across if they'd seen him, but nobody knew where he was. Some said they'd seen him earlier at breakfast, others said he'd been helping repair one of the storage sheds, but when I went to look, he was never there. It was like he was a ghost, appearing and disappearing at will. Finally, a young omega girl told me something useful."Maxwell has a house outside the pack borders," she said. "He spends most of his time there when he's not in the main pack house, he says he likes the quiet."She gave me rough directions, and I thanked her before heading out.The walk to the edge of pack territory felt longer than it should have, my heart pounding harder with each step. What was I doing?Going to confront a man who'd admitted to killing his own mate, who'd threatened me and who was probably planning something terrible with Sandra. But I needed answers.Needed to understand what they were planning so
CHRISTINA"No. No, Priscilla, you can't….""I have to," she said firmly."I've already made up my mind and I've been planning it for a week now.""But where will you go? What will you do? Running away from a pack is dangerous you're anomega, Priscilla, you'll be vulnerable out there alone.""I

Chapter 51 Sleep never came.I lay there in the darkness, staring at the ceiling, watching shadows shift and move as themoon crossed the sky outside my window.Every creak of the floorboards made my heart jump, every whisper of wind against the glassmade me think someone was trying to get in.Ma
Chapter 50I was running. My feet pounded against cold stone, my breath coming in ragged gasps that burned mythroat. The hallways of the pack house stretched out endlessly in front of me, twisting and turninglike a maze with no exit.Behind me, I could hear him.Footsteps, steady and unhurried, l
