“Hey,” Zayed opened his door to Moonbeam who looked tired as hell. She was barely holding up her bag. He took it from her and led her inside to where she collapsed on a couch.

“I’m so sorry I’m late. We had to brainstorm over a court case tomorrow and we couldn’t leave until we had covered enough ground to put the judgment tomorrow in our favor when I make my closing speech,” she apologized.

“I understand,” Zayed told her.

“I called my mom and she said you came by to get her pretty early. Sorry for making you leave work behind.”

“Hey, hey,” Zayed sat beside her and held her hand, “You did not make me do anything. I wanted to and I had nothing doing at work since Malik decided to cut back my work schedule.”

“He did? That’s sweet. I wish I could tell my bosses the same thing. They’d probably have my ass out of the door in a minute. I haven’t taken a vacation in like, ever,” Moonbeam replied, yawning.<
