Chapter 4

“C-cassine, do you want to sit here?” I mustered up my courage to suggest while pointing at the seat beside me.

I just felt the urge to save her from that monst... master’s evilness.

Aish, just because he was the queen’s son and he thinks he can act like that while owning all the seats at the back row, tsk.

“Thank you,” Cassine suddenly stated which I admit that surprised me.

This was the first time I heard someone say those words to me.

“Y-your welcome,” I awkwardly replied which made her flash another sweet smile.

“What is your name?” She asked.

“Uh, Myrtle.”

“Wow, you have a beautiful name.”

“T-thanks.”

“Can we be friends Myrtle?” I was surprised after she asked.

Did I mention that all the words she was saying to me were my first times hearing from other people?

“Why?’ I asked in response.

I am still confused unto why she suddenly asked to become friends with me.

Even though Cassine is a new girl, I knew she can sense that I am not like the other vampires who she should be befriending.

Unless, she is a half-ling too.

Nah, impossible! A half-ling can never be as glowing as her.

I mean, look at me. I can not be compared to her beauty.

“Myrtle?’ I suddenly snapped back to reality after she called me again. ‘Oh I am sorry. Am I too feeling close?”

“Oh no no no. I am sorry I am just surprised that you want to be friends with me. Y-you may do not know because you are a new girl but I am a half-ling,” I continuously explained because I do not want her to waste her time on me.

There were some people who tried to be friend with me at first but they suddenly left me since the day that they learned about my identity.

I do not want to feel left again. I am already used to being alone so might as well be like this until I finally graduate.

“So?”

“H-huh?” I asked in confusion. It seems like she did not understand.

“And so what if you are a half-ling. You are still a vampire. I do not get why they are so obsessed of leveling every vampire when we should all be supporting each other,” Cassine on the other hand continuously stated.

It is then when I realized that there are still someone who is different from this toxic University.

“So, what do you say. Since I am new to you school, do you want to help me familiarize myself here?” She asked which made me nod my head immediately.

“Great!”

After a while break time has finally interrupted our boring class.

I got suddenly excited as this was the first time that I am with someone when going out from our class room.

And as expected everyone were looking at Cassine.

I mean, who would not? She looks like an angel and no person will be able to resist her beauty!

”Myrtle, let us go there! That spot looks really nice!” I heard Cassine excitedly say while pointing at the only bench where you could see the whole field.

“Oh no Cassine. That is a bad idea,” I immediately protested while pulling her away from that place before the owner come.

“But why?” She asked.

“Do you remember the man who shouted at you for seating beside him a while back?” I asked in response.

“Ah, yeah?”

“His name is Ash.”

I paused as I waited for her to realize that the man was the queen’s son.

“You mean the future king?!” She asked in shock as expected.

Everyone already knew that the future king’s name is Ash but not everyone has seen his face.

I then nodded my head before looking at the bench which she wanted us to go to a while back. “That is his private spot. You already saw how he acts when someone wanted to get on his way. So, if we wanted to graduate peacefully we should not get entangled with him,” I continuously advise.

As Cassine is intelligent she immediately understood what I meant.

“Let us promise to graduate together without getting in any trouble,” she stated before raising her pinky finger.

I genuinely smile before raising my pinky finger for our pinky swear. “Yes.”

“Myrtle!” I heard someone calling me and saw Cypress, our class president and the only person who noticed me without thinking about my identity.

Oh, the second one is Cassine who is now my best friend.

I then immediately stood up which was followed by Cassine to meet Cypress.

“Oh you already know Cassine right?”

“Yes, of course nice to see that you two are close already,” he replied with a smile in his face.

“So, about our graduating project...”

“Uhm, I think I will excuse myself first Myrtle. I need to go to the rest room first,’  Cassine said.

“Do you want me to go with you?” I asked.

“No, I remember where you said the rest room is. You talk with the class president first,” she replied before walking away.

“Do not you think Cassine is too kind that it might be fake?” I was surprised after hearing him suspect about my new friend’s kindness.

“I do not think so. Besides, you are so kind to me too. Does that mean you are fake?” I asked in response.

“Hmmm, you have a point. By the way I came here to tell you about the idea we proposed to the adviser,” he paused as he looked at me with mystery. “He agreed!”

“Really?!” I then asked in excitement before jumping up and down. “That is a good news!” I exclaimed after remembering how much effort and sacrifices we did to just finish the proposal since I am the class vice president and should help him with the proposal.

“Right?!” He stated before we excitedly clapped our hands.

“Make way, you are so noisy.”

We were then taken a back after someone suddenly walked in between us while pushing Cypress away.

“Hey!” I yelled in anger but was stunned after the man tilted his head to face me.

Oh sh*t....
