Kiara POV

The forest shook with the roar of energy, the growls of wolves, and the shouts of enemies. My chest heaved as silver light coiled around my hands, around Theodore, around us both, pulsing with life and power.

The golden-black wolf lunged again, faster, sharper, and more lethal than before. But this time it was not alone shadows moved behind it, more wolves, larger, faster, half-shifted, snarling with intent. They came for me.

I swallowed hard. My wolf inside me roared, energy flaring,

The world broke open.Stone, ash, and fragments of the throne scattered through the air as the palace collapsed beneath us. A roar unlike anything I had ever heard tore across the realm deep, endless, filled with hunger that felt older than creation itself. The Hollow was rising. Its body unfolded from beneath the earth like living night, stretching higher and higher until it pierced the fractured sky. Shadows poured from it in waves, swallowing light wherever they touched.I couldn’t even see its full shape.Only movement.Endless movement.Eyes opened across its form hundreds, then thousands each glowing with void-like emptiness. And every single one focused on me.“BALANCE DEFIES ITS PURPOSE.”The voice struck like thunder inside my skull.I nearly collapsed.Theodore caught me immediately, pulling me against him as debris rained around us.“We need to move!” he shouted. The Sovereign appeared beside us in a burst of dark flame, his calm finally gone.“The seal is broken,” he said

The scream inside my mind didn’t fade.It echoed louder, sharper, cutting through the throne’s ancient call like lightning splitting the sky.DO NOT TAKE THE THRONE.The light surrounding me shattered instantly.I stumbled backward just before sitting, my heart racing violently. The throne reacted. Not calmly. Not patiently.Angrily.Cracks spread across its surface, dark energy leaking from within like smoke forced through broken stone. The entire palace shook, pillars groaning as if something enormous had shifted beneath the foundation. The Sovereign’s expression changed for the first time since I met him.Shock.“What…?” he whispered.Theodore moved immediately, pulling me behind him.“I don’t like this,” he growled.Neither did I.The compass mark burned hot against my skin no longer guiding, but warning. The ancient voice from the throne returned, distorted now:“Balance must sit… Balance must bind…”The words sounded wrong.Desperate.Hungry.A deep rumble echoed from below the

The throne was alive.Light poured from it in waves not warm like my balance power, but ancient, heavy, filled with authority that pressed against my mind like a forgotten command trying to awaken. The entire hall trembled.Ash lifted into the air, circling slowly as if gravity itself had shifted toward the throne. And toward me.My wrist burned violently. The compass mark expanded, glowing brighter than ever before. It recognizes you.The voice echoed inside my head deep, neither male nor female, older than anything I had ever felt.I stepped back instinctively.“I didn’t choose this,” I whispered. The Sovereign watched carefully, no longer smiling.“It chooses only its rightful ruler.”Beside me, Theodore grabbed my hand. His warmth cut through the overwhelming pressure immediately.“You don’t have to do anything,” he said firmly. “We leave. Now.”I wanted to agree.I truly did.But the moment I turned away from the thronePain struck.Sharp.Unbearable.Images exploded behind my ey

The palace doors exploded inward.Stone and shadow shattered like glass as golden energy flooded the throne hall, bright enough to burn away the gray gloom surrounding everything in this realm. My heart leapt.Theodore stepped through the destruction. But he wasn’t the same. His Lycan aura blazed violently, thicker and darker than I had ever seen, gold threaded with streaks of raw silver our bond reacting to the danger between us. His eyes glowed fiercely, locked entirely on me.Relief struck first. Then fear.Because the realm itself reacted instantly.Symbols ignited across the walls. Chains of light descended from the ceiling, pressing down on him like gravity multiplied a hundred times. He staggered but did not fall.“I told you,” he said, voice rough yet steady, “I would come.”Emotion tightened my chest.“Theodore, stop this place is suppressing you!”“I noticed,” he replied dryly, taking another step forward despite the crushing force. Each movement cracked the floor beneath hi

Cold air brushed against my skin as consciousness slowly returned. For a moment, I thought I was still inside the portal weightless, drifting between worlds. Then I realized I couldn’t move.Soft restraints of glowing energy wrapped around my wrists and ankles, holding me upright rather than tying me down. The sensation wasn’t painful… just absolute.Unbreakable.My eyes opened fully. And I froze.I stood inside a hall so vast its ceiling disappeared into darkness. Black pillars stretched endlessly on both sides, each carved with symbols that pulsed faintly like living veins. Ash floated through the air like falling snow, dissolving before touching the ground. At the far endA throne. Not gold. Not stone. It looked forged from condensed shadows and dying stars, shifting constantly as if reality itself struggled to hold its shape. And someone sat upon it.My breath caught. He looked… human.Tall. Calm. Beautiful in a way that felt wrong like perfection designed to unsettle rather than

The moment my feet touched the ground, I knew something was wrong. Not dangerous. Not yet.Just… wrong. The air felt heavier, pressing against my lungs as if the world itself resisted my presence. The silver light around my body flickered weakly before fading completely.I staggered forward.Theodore caught my arm instantly.“Kiara.”His voice sounded distant, muffled like we were underwater.“I’m fine,” I said automatically, though dizziness spun through me.The portal behind us snapped shut with a violent crack.Silence followed. Not natural silence.Empty silence. No birds. No wind.No distant animal movement.Nothing alive.I lifted my gaze slowly. The sky above us was not blue.It shimmered in shades of gray and violet, fractured like broken glass stretching endlessly across the horizon. Tall structures rose in the distance not mountains, not buildings, but something between both, twisting upward like frozen smoke.“This place…” Theodore muttered, his golden eyes scanning cautiou
