Was this how it felt to be useless? To be worthless? Worthless. A stranger among your own pack, among your own people. Yet you don't even have the audacity or the mouth to speak up. It hurts me every day. Anytime I open my eyes and see I am about to relive another day.
Still under Alpha Ash. Still that worthless Omega, that weak wolf they always saw me as. The torture continued and, of course, it was about to start again—even more than it was before. I slowly made my way towards the crowd as Alpha Ash seemed frustrated.
"Where is Kiara?"
He shouted as every nerve in my body shivered in fright. But I still tried my very best to act calm.
"I'm here,"
I muttered as he looked at me.
"You are here. So what should I do? Jump in excitement?"
He said, slowly making his way towards me. I couldn't tell what his next action was going to be, but I knew I had to dodge it so badly. But before I could even embrace his frowns, he gave me a quick slap on the face as I held my cheek. It stung so badly. It stung like always. He wouldn't stop.
"You worthless parasite. How dare you disobey me!"
He shouted as I stayed quiet. I couldn't say anything. I knew no reason why I was receiving this punishment or what I had done exactly. But Alpha Ash always had this thing for me. Whenever he was pissed, whenever things didn't go the way he wanted, my cheek and my body became a punching bag and a slapping tool. That was all he saw me as. Nothing more.
My name is Kiara Hale. I am an Omega in the Blue Lake Pack. I am the most despised wolf because I have no wolf, no power, or status to show I exist. I was just a girl whose luck got lost in the world of forgotten souls. And I had to be in the worst situation, being with Alpha Ash. I couldn't even say anything as other maids looked at me, some whispering amongst themselves. I knew this news was going to be another new topic. And of course, the head maid would make me her slave today, reminding me of what Alpha Ash had done to me.
"Didn't I warn you multiple times? I keep telling you: stay where I place you. You don't listen,"
He said as I tried my best to raise my head above my bow.
"I did not disobey you, and I did not do anything you don't want me to do. Please, if I have done anything wrong, at least give me a chance to explain,"
I said as he laughed.
"You don't deserve a chance to explain. You are nothing. I always keep reminding you about it, but you never forget,"
He said, raising his hands up to the air. I was already expecting another slap, knowing I couldn't dodge it. But the next thing I felt was a punch in my belly. I choked, not knowing how to react. He really did hit me in the place I did not expect, and at this point, I couldn't even feel my belly. My brain suddenly went numb. Was this how it felt to be in pain?
"I told you: when I'm talking, you don't talk,"
He hit me again as I fell to the ground on both knees. I couldn't say anything.
"I am sorry, Alpha Ash,"
I muttered as he rolled his eyes.
"I thought you wouldn't apologize, you worthless idiot. I don't know how many times I keep explaining this to you, but you don't deserve to be in my pack,"
He said, but I couldn't mutter another word. I didn't know what to say. I didn't know what to do. And next, his feet came stomping me to the ground.
"Please, please, I promise I won't disobey you,"
I pleaded, but he didn't listen to any of my words and instead continued to kick me until he kicked me in the belly again. This time it hurt so badly. I looked at him in rage. I wish I could do something. I wish I could fight back, not be the weak woman he knows me for. I wish I could do so many things. But now all I could do was stare at him, not able to say anything.
"Why are you staring at me like that?"
He shouted as he picked up a whip which he had prepared, and my eyes suddenly widened. My body trembled hard as I rushed towards him and held onto his robe tightly.
"Please, please, Alpha Ash, one more chance. I promise I won't make any mistake. Whatever I did, forgive me. I am worthless and I accept my fate. Please don't do this to me. I beg you,"
I pleaded with him continuously, but yet he still whipped me as I fell to the ground. Yes, I had so many scars on my body, but he was topping them up, and he pained knowing he had found a fault in me before and still did again. It felt like an endless torture. This was one of the main reasons why I always never wanted to wake up the next day. I wish I could just die. At this point, I wasn't useful anymore.
"Please stop,"
I pleaded.
"Tell no more lies!"
He snapped with bits of sweat dripping from his forehead.
"Stop, please,"
I continued begging, and he did not stop until my clothes were soaked with a glossy... stop... drenched in my own blood. My eyes began to close as the beating got worse.
"That is all for today. If you dare disobey me, you won't be able to keep your life,"
He said.
"Consider yourself grateful enough to be my slave,"
He added, and I couldn't even say a word.
"Tomorrow, Alpha Theodore of Black Vine will be paying us a visit, and this will be my chance to ally with the most brutal Alpha from the north,"
He declared, his words dripping with all his imaginations. I guess that was why he found me as a scapegoat. He wanted to use me as an example or pour out his anger or frustration. If he doesn't get Alpha Theodore’s approval, I might just lose my life.
"So I want you to serve him well,"
He shouted, bringing me back to reality as I nodded.
"I will,"
I muttered.
"If you dare ruin this, I will skin you,"
He warned with a smirk which caught on the corner of his lips as he turned away, closing the door behind him.
At this moment, all I could think about was revenge. How I could get back at him for everything he had done to me, make him know what it feels like. He did this to me and he will pay, even if it's not now. But very soon. Just when my eyes slowly began to shut—no one to help me, everyone left me deserted, I couldn't even stand up—I heard footsteps behind me.
"Kiara,"
He called. At that moment, I knew it was Lucas, my childhood friend and Alpha Ash's son, the only person who would always come to help me. But before I could say a word, I lost consciousness and everything went blank.
********
My eyes slowly opened the next morning and I found myself back in my room.
The first thing I felt was the pain aching through my body badly as I tried to sit up.
I struggled to get out of bed , my legs shaky as I dressed up knowing Alpha Theodore would be visiting our pack.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror. My face was pale ,a shadow of my former self with bruises imprinted on my fragile skin.
The memories of yesterday's events kept replaying in my head .
I slowly stepped out, turning the door knob and closing my room.
Before I could get to the sitting room, I stumbled upon broken glasses which pierced my foot, blood trickling from my foot soiling my damp slippers.
Argh " I let out a scream but I landed into the arms of Lucas who shielded me, his hand pressed against my waist with electricity shooting through my entire body.
His touch was gentle sending heat sending sweat through my spine.
His eyes were piercing blue and his golden hair curls on his shoulders complementing his appearance.
His scent was intoxicating which smelt like chocolate mulberry flooding my senses .
" I am sorry I bumped into you" I apologised lowering my head.
" Are you alright?" he asked his voice softening.
“ Yes I'm fine and thank you for yesterday” I said my voice faltering.
At that moment, his eyes met mine glowing brightly his bright blue eyes piercing into mine staring straight into my soul.
" You are my mate " he whispered which made my heart melt.
" Your mate ? How can this be ?" I mumbled softly, locking our eyes with each other.
“ You must have been mistaken Lucas I can't be your mate “ I remarked .
“ No there is no mistake but you can wait till your age coming ceremony to ascertain your mate” he said warmly patting my head .
An inexplicable feeling washed over me like a warm embrace tugging at my heart and before we could comprehend anything else Alpha Ash walked in brimming with rage.
“ I'm sorry I bumped into you” I whispered lowering my gaze as he loosened his hold on me.
“ Lucas what are you doing with her “ Alpha Ash questioned his son the moment he came to our side.
“ Nothing I'm just helping her up” he replied looking into my eyes and I felt my stomach twist.
" You filthy bitch it seems I haven't disciplined you enough" he barked his voice sending chills.
“ Father will you stop this” Lucas said his dark piercing eyes ran over Alpha Ash blazing with fury.
“ Lucas don't let this bitch get to you she is not worth your time “he sneered rolling his eyes.
" Did you do this to her ?" Lucas asked with raised eyebrows, his eyes landing on the injuries which were inflicted on me the previous night.
" Oh my dear boy Lucas ! Don't let this pretty thing bother you " Alpha Ash smirked as Lucas comforted me gently stroking my hair.
Alpha Theodore? My heart skipped a beat almost crashing to my knees.
" She is nothing but a worthless slave and I obviously haven't punished her enough!" Alpha Ash sneers .
“ What ? She is human too and you know Alpha Theodore must not hear of this or we lose our rights “ he said coldly with his intense gaze on me.
"Enough !How dare you do this to my mate?" his tone was flat sending a wave of electricity through me.
“ Your mate ?” How can she be your mate? “ Alpha Ash straightened as those words escaped from Lucas lips.
“ How can this wolfless slut be your mate I picked her from the garbage not a Luna material “ he continued hurling derogatory comments at me.
Lucas eyes were filled with fury as he clenched his fists hard .
“ Lucas what are you trying to do ? “ Alpha Ash ask his body shaking in fear as Lucas unbottoned his blazer placing it gently on the table.
“Nothing just a little lesson that you shouldn't touch what never belonged to you”he grins at him.
He stepped forward, pushing Alpha Ash on the bed ,rolling up his sleeves his fists landing on the right side on his face .
" You are about to be on the receiving end of what you have done" He grabs him by the collar, his eyes shining brightly like a nine dipper star.
“ Please Lucas don't do this I'm your father and Alpha of this pack “ his voice trembled but Lucas paid no heed.
" Now taste the same thing you had with my mate " Alpha Ash coughed up blood stains ,pain shooting through his body shooting me a disapproving look but I dared not meddle in men's affairs.
" Please Lucas " Alpha Ash screams his voice above a whisper with the taste of blood filling his mouth whimpering like an injured kitten.
He slams several punches on his face breaking his bones apart giving him no breathing space till he gave up the ghost with his blood soiling the bedsheets.
My hands trembled seeing the Alpha lying in a pool of his own blood.
Alpha Theodore's hands were soiled with blood and the room which used to be a beauty was turned into a battlefield.
Tears flowed down my eyes, my heart racing as Alpha Theodore stepped closer tossing Alpha Ash's body aside like a play thing.
His corpse was dishevelled and crumpled on the bare floor, his clothes were ripped into shreds, his lifeless eyes stared at the ceiling.
I wanted to scream but the words suddenly died in my throat scared of the sight before me.
My heart sank as he stood against the wall facing me,his eyes were cold like ice.
He watched my face, his expression blank ,my arms shaking .
" Are you afraid of me?" he asked, towering his gaze all over me.
"No " I stammered my voice trembling.
My breath hitched but I quickly shut my eyes knowing I was alone with this merciless Alpha.
I knew Alpha Ash deserved death but the way he was killed was far too brutal beyond my expectations.
" You have to leave here, you are not safe " he said with a straight face which twisted into concern .
Before I could say anything else,my vision became blurry,my bones aching as I spun around my eyes slowly closing in, losing my balance landing straight into his arms.
