Thirty Six: LISA

I roll my eyes.

"What?" I ask.

He takes in a breath, and just as I am about to ask him again why he is stopping me from eating my chicken, he pulls out a red box from the pocket of his overcoat and gets down on one knee.

His hand opens the box, and I gasp at the sight of the most beautiful diamond ring I have ever seen.

My chest tightens. I can't breathe. I can't even move.

I snap to Sandra. "Sandra, what is happ—"

The rest of my question sinks down my throat when I catch the little witch on her feet, holding her phone in an angle that just screams that she is taking pictures of us, probably even making a video too.

I turn back to Kayden, gulping in a breath. His handsome face wears a smile that is doing crazy things to my head and heart and belly.

"What are you doing?” I croak, barely even hearing my voice.

“Can't you see? I am trying to propose to you in the middle of a Chicken Grill Spot by the corner of the street."
