Twenty Six: LISA

Since the moment I regained my consciousness, hours rolled into days and days rolled into weeks.

Two weeks to be precise. Two whole solid weeks of lying in bed and watching TV and having Sandra feed me breakfast, sometimes lunch and dinner inclusive. During times when she wheels me around the hospital's corridors and outside the hospital to get some fresh air, I would tease her non-stop about how she cried and promised never to offend me ever again if I survived my gunshot surgery.

She would laugh at my taunts and poke my sides. And then, she would hug me in her arms and tell me again and again how much she loves me. My work colleagues also brought me lots of flowers and 'Get Well' cards and chocolates during the past week of my stay in this hospital. Sandra did me the honors of devouring most of the chocolates.

Ethan is always in the hospital as well, spending most of his time on the couch in Kayden's ward. He comes to see me during times when I am not getting choked up with Sandra,
