Unknown's pov
Crispy red painted sky when nature's fireball rose with dawn, on the horizon it shone with a faint hue of burnt orange and scattered red. The puffy clouds danced over the gigantic but calmed ocean, spiralled under the web of the dense forest. I stood near the borders of the Moon blessed territory, that's called The Crystal Moon Pack.
Never in my wasted life have I felt a bit of fear, not even from the Alpha of my former pack. It was just a respect I gave him as a friend. However, today, I stood in foreign land. Something had stirred in my mind. The feeling was alienated as I haven't felt it for a long time. Until I realised it was my wolf, it came back on the surface. However, he wasn't really intended to initiate a conversation. Douche…
Hefty paws and trickling sweat beads rolled down on my face as I watched the territory borders closely, my enhanced sight provided me a view of patrolling guards all over the place and their intricate guarding pattern. The security outside the pack was complex and it wouldn't be easy to breach it. The only thing that would make me caught off the scent of the rouge I dipped in. Not being able to remove this sin since I had left everything behind but got no time for remorse. It won't be long when I will get my hands on the werewolf I had to abduct.
Orfilia's pov
The glimmered rays of the sun fell over my face and as I scrunched my brows in retaliation to leave the bed, a silhouette appeared in my hazy sight and it made me jump back in fear.
My loud scream filled the air and my popped nerves were clearly seen on my body until i was calm and realised that it was no one but my brother Jeremy pulling a prank on me.
"What the hell…" I cried, almost.
He threw a fit of laughter before slumped into the bean bag behind him. His electric blue eyes were on me as he proceeded to wish me a greeting.
"Happy Birthday, Wolf Girl…" he screamed like thousands of guitars were playing in my head.
"Happy Birthday, dear…" mom came running behind him and wished me.
A smile curled up on my face and I got up to hug my mom. "Thank you, mom!!!"
"Look, my girl, she has turned eighteen…" Her gaze was full of pride and a hint of sadness lurked in her eyes but she concealed it before I could notice.
"Wow… but it doesn't feel any different… I mean… Injave heard that turning eighteen makes you mature and different in aspects but I am still the same." I observed while looking at the wall size mirror placed on the wall of my room.
"It's not instant but you will feel it. Anyway, get ready, I have baked a cake for you. We will celebrate here first before your birthday bash at pack house." Mom informed me and glad she did because I almost forgot about the party. And if so, Ivory would have killed him.
They left the room and I rushed to get ready for the day. More than anything, I was excited to be with Bobby and couldn't wait to find out he was my mate. Apart from that, I would shift anytime of the day and as Dad had instructed me about first shifting, I would be careful today.
I wore a pleated shirt with a black jeans and great canvas. Tied my hair in a ponytail and did a little makeup as I wanted to appear different than other days. As I went downstairs, My dad looked at me and smiled with his whole heart. I could read his eyes. They shone with glee and pure love. So I returned the favour.
"My baby girl turned eighteen today. I cannot believe that you will leave us anytime once you will find your mate." His words made me sad but it was true.
Once I find Bobby as my mate, I will leave this house to be with him.
"Don't worry, I will not leave you…" I started while taking a place next to him.
"You can't say that. What if your mate would be an Alpha or beta from another pack? Then you will leave us here and go with your mate." Said Mom and it startled me. I don't want another mate than Bobby.
"Or maybe, she will find her mate in this pack. I know a guy she had a crush on for a long time…" It was Jeremy who spilled the beans and I glared at him while others giggled.
"Let's celebrate, because my dear daughter needs to go to school on time." My saviour, my dad.
Mom brought the chocolate cake and we celebrated a short birthday at home. I cut pieces and made everyone eat one but from it.
"I will eat the rest of the cake tomorrow…" As I warned them and left the house, Bobby parked his car outside my house and I was utterly happy to see him. My stomach had butterflies dancing as his smile made my day bright. I hopped in his car and he greeted me with a peck on my lips, "happy birthday…".
And then he presented a small gift on my hand. I was shocked when I opened the small box and it revealed a stone pendant with a snake pattern chain. He picked it up and made me wear it.
"Bobby, I haven't shifted and I am not sure that I am your mate." As i said, he put his finger on my lips
"You are my mate… I can feel it. My wolf is restless and I know once your wolf comes to the surface, I will claim you as my mate." He looked into my eyes and pecked my lips again before we headed to the school.
School was ordinary except the greetings I received all day. And Ivory, she was all dolled up with shorts and ruffled top, paired with high boots. She was looking like her daddy's spoiled girl.
"Orfilia, what is this? I expected you to look pretty today… you are still simple…" she rolled her eyes.
"I am different but you are on another level. You know I can't be like you…" I scoffed as I walked along with her.
"Can't believe we are birthday twins and share nothing except the birthday…" why she was so cold.
"Alright, but I will make sure you look wonderful at the party. Many Alphas with their children are coming to the party and the best part is that, all of them are above eighteen or turned eighteen recently so, it's a high chance of getting a mate. I am hella sure that a filthy rich alpha or soon to be alpha would be my mate. I mean, who else gonna handle me and my tantrums." She was really thinking like that?
"Yeah… it's good that you will find an Alpha…" I was still confused with her expectations but maybe she could brag about such things.
"What about you?" She asked.
"I just want an understanding mate, who will not only be my mate but my supporter too. More than anything, he will be everywhere for me. I don't have any expectations for my mate…" I uttered knowing how boring I sounded.
"Seriously? Anyway… it's time to head to the salon. We have to get ready.." She was super excited and dragged me with her car.
Then, we headed to the salon of her choice, where magic happens because when we came out, we were unrecognisable. Literally, not me. I gawked at the person in the mirror, almost looking like someone from the fashion industry just landed here. No wonder why Ivory looked so fine every damn day. My father was a beta and he didn't have that much money like an Alpha but he showed us how hard it was to earn that money. our all demands were fulfilled.
When I reached home, my mom was shocked to see me with full makeup and hair styled by professionals. Since there was just one hour left for the party, I still had time to get ready.
I wore the maroon dress I bought from the mall and slipped into the golden stilettos. When I walked down the stairs, there was another set of pairs watching me keenly. Bobby was waiting inside and my Mom watched me smile when I saw him.
"Ready for the party?" Asked my Mom from me and my gaze directed to her.
"Yes."
"You are looking pretty… adorable." She hugged and handed my hands into Bobby's.
"I hope you will take care of my daughter." She instructed him.
"Definitely…" he nodded his head and we headed outside to his car.
"Excited?" He asked with a raised brow.
"Yeah… but i am more excited to have my first shift and be your mate." My fingers got entangled with his.
And then, we hopped into the car and went straight to the party venue.
I wake up on the bed, drenched in all sweat, in the middle of the night and startled to see unknown surroundings. I gasp in fear and panic rose to my throat. I get up from the bed and rushes to the door to open it and escape from that place immediately. As I run barefoot through the corridors, but only to find out that I was in the infirmary, as I recall the place. I feel air passing into my lungs as I breathe in relief, but it confuses me to the core reasoning why I was in infirmary.Suddenly, I hear random and loud footsteps approaching me and I become alert and turn to look toward the footsteps. I notice a few of the healers and Daphne approaching me. My vision blurs and I feel my throat getting dry with every breath I take. My chest burns and I cough frequently. Something is not right? Why the hell I get in here? As I remember last night, I was partying with Lucian and others. The healer approaches me and helps me to breathe properly, “your majesty! Please come inside. You are wea
Orfilia's pov Once the celebration was over, I went straight to my room and called Lance because We both need to talk about this major decision I was about to take. He observed the anxiety and palpitations so he didn't let it get over and followed me to the room. When we reached, he put my hands in his and pulled me closer. Before I knew, he already had his lips on mine and we both moved in synchronisation. I didn't wanted to interrupt either so I moved with the flow and we both land on the bed, undressed each other and made love to each other. It was the best sex and he made me realise that what a worthy mate he was. I wished I could stay like that but I was lacking time since the noon was over and soon the sun will hide under the sky. "So, what are you thinking now?" Lance asked me. "I am thinking about you, us." I stated. "No! I mean, for future." He added. "Yeah! That's why I called you. I know I might sound childish but I don't want to stay here." I looked with a puppy face
Orfilia's pov The moment I had put the crown on Ivory's head, The crowd in the stadium went berserk. They applauded loudly and nothing seemed better than that, but, When my eyes met with Alpha Damien's, he was sad and upset about my decision. I would take long to make him understand that i never wanted to be the Alpha of this pack. Maybe, if things from the starting were different, I could be the Alpha but my spirit seek something meaningful and adventure. Lady Nymeria would be waiting for me and I had to leave this pack today. "But why? If I wanted to make her an Alpha, I would have asked her." Damien slammed his palms on the glass table, cracking it from the middle. We were in his study and the atmosphere was high and dramatic. "Why not? She is your daughter too and you said you wanted to see your daughter leading this pack, so what makes a difference if It's her, not me!" I stated while looking at him. "She is not you!!" He gritted his teeth. "Still makes no sense to me. If
Orfilia's pov After getting an approval from Alpha Damien, I was sure that I would bring the worthy candidate to be an Alpha of the pack. However, the time limit was short but atleast, I knew what I had to do. When I left the room, I bumped into Ivory and behind her were her daughters in the baby cart. She smiled widely at me. "Orfilia! You seem to be in a hurry. I know you have a coronation today but can you spare a moment for me." She made a request. "Of course, is everything alright?" I got worried when she called me to stay for a while. Even when I had limited time to find a worthy candidate, I couldn't deny her request. She escorted me out from the pack house while her daughters were taken to Alpha Damien's room. I wondered if Ivory was fine because I could read from her face that she wasn't feeling good. Her face was glowing under the warmth of the sun. "You haven't answered me." I asked her. "Yeah! I was occupied with thoughts. I have been awake the entire night. No matt
The night passed with tension lingering within the pack which was under the fog and the mist while they were playing like small children. The moon was bright and confident, however, the appearances might be deceiving. Even if the security had been increased around the boundaries and inside the pack, I was still anxious and palpating under the edge of a knife. I couldn’t sleep with peace as it kept me agitated all night long. The thoughts of becoming the Alpha of this pack was shaking me up. I did agree to Alpha Damien's demand only because I cannot make him feel depressed due to his conditions but this 'Becoming an Alpha' thought was keeping me at bay. I was alone in my room when I heard a knock and saw Lance entering. A smile flashed on his face and I gave him a slight smile too. "What's wrong? You seem worried." He spotted. "I am in a dilemma." I started with a low tone. "What dilemma? Is everything alright? I know that Alpha Damien had talked to you about something serious and e
With the morning dew glory at dawn and wet paws ahead of time, We saw the restricted boundaries of the Crystal moon pack in front of us. I breathed silently and felt secure to see my home, again but this feeling that I couldn't shrug off was eating me up. Since I had heard the news of Alpha Damien's fight for his life, I began believing in keeping the relationships at priority over anything else. I was his biological daughter but I never looked upon him as a father, although he was a father figure to me but he was not my dad. The man beside me raised me was the one I would call my dad. We shifted back into our human form and proceeded to enter the pack's territory. The guards bowed to us and Beta Male interacted with them to gather some information. He informed us that Alpha Damien's health had deteriorated since they had left looking for me. It broke my heart a little but Ivory was shattered. She was going to lose her last family member. "We shouldn't wait anymore." I nodded my
Orfilia's pov The cold air swept over my face but the hot sweat beads on my forehead dripped down to my cheekbones. Despite the lower temperature, the cottage was burning in tension. The surface broke with a loud noise which lingered inside my head. I was standing rooted to the place because the shock I just received was too much to bear. I tried hard not to show how scared i was but those enemies had made up their mind and attacked us. I tripped and fell down but got to save my two wolves protecting me behind my back. "Lance, dad? How did you get here?" I was too stunned to speak. "Leave that for later. We need to save Ivory. Alone, she cannot handle that witch's power and I am afraid she will die. "Let's go and save her.." Rella was excited as hell. They offered me some weapons to kill the creatures creeping form the darkness and we begin fighting them, making our way to Ivory and save her before that Witch would hurt her Rashak with his weapon took down one of them but it wa
Orfilia's povAs the dawn appeared out of the horizon, I watched the first ray of sun falling on the white snow and reflecting the sparkles like a fresh cut diamond. The moment was breathtaking and it made me forget the pain coursing through my body. The wounds haven't healed and the bruises are sore. As i tried to get up along with the surroundings, i realised that i am lying on a cot which is placed outside from a temple. Although, the ceiling was covering me from the morning dew but the chills did got me shudder my spine in shiver. As I tried to get up, I convulsed and threw up at another moment. I was exhausted and helplessly laid down back on the cot. The vision was getting blurred and the sense faded but I heard the faint footsteps approaching me.I wanted to get up and fight if someone was trying to take advantage of me. These past couple of days, bizarre things are happening with me. I can’t even relate if they're real or a mere hallucination, or I was just having an inceptio
Orfilia’s povThe chilling breezes are blowing enormously, and the howling silence of the dead telling their story of the previous battles. The ears are full of silent screams of the people who left behind after the wars. The dense fog is covering the battlefield and the tiny droplets are freezing on the eyelashes. I am feeling anxious and helpless, even when the whole thing is standing with me. It begins the inevitable and there is no turning back to it.The collapsing of the icebergs in the blue ocean reminded me of the collapse world of ours, fascinating and disturbing at the same time. Time had the power to manipulate everything but we, the pawns of destiny, had no control over this time, though we could fight our way to lead a battle or a life, it won’t be enough to control the time in hands. It slips from my hands like dried sand.At the top of the world, everything seemed so tiny and minute, but the same things appeared huge and bulky when we were on the ground, below zero… sho
