Chapter 55 - Sarael
I can’t believe I’ve just agreed to this. My father would be furious, and my mother would probably be crying, and Sakina… well, Sakina would probably want to fight me, possibly even kill me so that I couldn’t go through with this. On the whole, I can only think Isis would be on board with my plans to let John mark me. Even Khalid probably would frown on this.
I know Khalid doesn’t like that I’m John’s mate, but I’m not marked. So he might have been accepting right now. But when he learns that I not only intend to let John mark me but that in the manner we plan to do so will essentially make me a werewolf… Khalid is going to lose his temper. For the moment, outside his snide remarks, he’s been calmer and collected like his father. But I can see Sakina’s short fuse in him, and this would set it off.

I had borrowed a jeep used by the pack rather than taking my SUV into the forest to camp. As much as I’m sure it could handle the terrain, I don't want to get my SUV dirty when I can use one of the jeeps specifically for this. We take pups camping usually every full moon even though they are too young for their wolves. We want them to know our territory and learn how to navigate and survive it even without their wolf. It was exhilarating riding on Irving’s back. And unlike last time, we aren’t rushing off to danger. This time there is no one trying to kill anyone. It’s just us out here in nature. It’s been a long time since I’ve been camping. I can at least be sure this camping trip will be more memorable than my camping during college. I can only assume spending more time in nature will be something we do more often. Especially if I develop a wolf spirit. Twice a month, I’ll be able to shift and run through the forest with Irving at his side. I blinked as we came to a stop in a clearing.
