~Kemarion~

I spent the entire day searching the pack and the lands right outside our borders, but it was all for nothing. I didn’t find her, and there was no trace of her to follow. I have no idea how she was able to leave without so much as a word to anyone.

I wasn’t the only one searching for her. I had a few top warriors searching the surrounding forest as well as the borderlines. I didn’t want anyone to know what I was doing, so I made them promise to keep it under wra

  • Beta vs Gamma   XXVII

I burst through the packhouse doors, breathing heavily. I was ready to have a long talk with Brec, really lay into him about taking over my body. But instead of letting me speak, he blocked me out. He has himself locked away in the back of my mind, and it pisses me off. I storm upstairs, not caring that I’m completely naked. I’m hurt, stressed, angry… hell, everything and then some. I don’t know what to do with this new information or with Brec. “Are you okay, man?” I whip around, almost losing my footing on the stairs. I turn to Ario, looking up at me. He’s looking me up and down. “You never go bare assed in the packhouse. You good?” I can’t speak. It’s like my throat is closed up and my mouth is sewn shut. I let out a huff and continue walking up the stairs. I feel him behind me, following me, but I don’t really care. I push the door open and stalk into my room. I go straight to the bathroom and start the shower. It doesn’t take long to heat up, and I quickly jump inside, hoping t

  • Beta vs Gamma   XXVI

This can’t be happening. I mean, there’s no way this is a thing. It hasn’t even been a year since I left that pack and my horrible, fated mate behind. Now, here… in a human town, I’m supposed to have found another fated mate?!I let his scent wrap around me, and my heart immediately starts beating faster, if you can believe that. He’s a ranked member. It’s another fated mate with ranked status in a pack. There’s no way I’m doing this. There’s no way I will deal with another ranked member.Ranked members are arrogant, selfish… they don’t care about anyone else or their feelings. I refuse to do this again… I refuse to leave myself open to hateful behavior simply because he has a title and I don’t. There’s no way Kemarion would have done what he did if he was an Omega like me. My head starts to hurt as Rae howls nonstop. She’s begging for the mate bond, but that can’t happen. I block her and breathe deeply internally. I’m here to do a job, and I plan to do that no matter who’s standing

  • Beta vs Gamma   XXV

~Kyson~It doesn’t hurt as much when I wake up in the morning. Those first few days, waking up felt like fire being poured under my skin. The sun felt like blatant disrespect, and I wished nothing more than to be able to pull it out of the sky and throw it away. Now the bright days aren’t as offensive as they used to be. I can get up in the morning without the overwhelming urge to sleep the day away. There’s still some residual pain there, but it’s nothing that I can’t push past. I’m glad that I can get through the days because Rain was becoming too much for me. I appreciate my Luna for caring; I really do, but it was suffocating. She felt guilty because my former fated mate was someone from her world, someone she grew up with. I never blamed her, and I hated that she blamed herself. These days, her looks don’t hold as much pity in them, and I appreciate that. She isn’t constantly asking me if I’m okay or if she can do anything for me. We’ve been getting back to the relationship

  • Beta vs Gamma   XXIV

~Samiah~I leave the café and walk down the street with a lighter step. I can feel the smile on my face, and I’m not mad about that. I never thought I’d meet someone like that, but I’m glad I did. Rain is such a sweet person. I felt her aura, and she’s definitely a Luna. I never had any issues with the ranked members before. I did what was expected of me, and they pretty much left me alone. I did get looks from the Beta couple here and there, but they were like that with everyone. Seeing how their son treated me, everything makes sense now. I walk into the back door of the shop and straight into the office. Pete looks up from the papers on his desk when I walk in. He sits back after staring at me for a while and places his hands in his lap. “I have to say that I haven’t seen you look like this since you’ve been here. What has you in such a good mood?” I slide into the seat across from him and rest my feet on the edge of the desk. “I guess you can say that I’m in a pretty good mood.

  • Beta vs Gamma   XXIII

~Rain~I heard him; I swear I heard and understood the words that just came out of his mouth. I didn’t like them. I didn’t like them at all, and I wasn’t ready to walk away just because he was trying to be a stoic Gamma unaffected by what he deemed too emotional. Thankfully, I didn’t have to say anything to anyone. I’m not sure if my mate really knows me that well or if he got the same vibes from Kyson that I did. I watch Andre and Ario walk out of the office, Andre dropping a kiss on my forehead as he goes. The door clicks quietly behind him. I watch Kyson get to his feet and move toward the door, as if he’s just now realizing everyone's been released. I step forward and to the side so I can block his path. Kyson looks at me, but doesn’t say anything. We are in a stare-off, and I don’t really know how to break it up. I have so much I want to say to him, but I’m not sure how he will take it. It isn’t that we have any issues between us. We actually get along pretty well. Meeting And

  • Beta vs Gamma   XXII

~Rain~I’m extremely distracted, worried about what’s going on in that room. I can only hope that Cecilia is decent to Kyson. I hope that she actually talks to him and gets to know him. I want to be clear about things. I don't want her to become part of this pack in any way. I don’t want to see her daily or have to interact with her. If she were to move here, these other idiots would be here too. I’d rather stick rusty nails in my eyes than to have to deal with these monsters day in and day out. Besides the fact that Cecilia is a horrible person, if she were to live here, the other ladies would be here to visit her often. I would rather run away from the pack and all my duties than see them regularly. I never fit in with this group, nor did I ever lower myself to their level. I never treated people like they didn’t matter and never made status/rank the most important part of a person. The ladies keep chatting incessantly. They aren’t chatting as much as they are complaining and tak
