CHAPTER 100

HOLD ME IN YOUR ARMS!

The night wore on after our beautiful moment. I sat on the edge of the bed, still in the delicate silk slip from the ceremony. My hands were clasped in my lap, thumbs nervously rubbing over each other, over and over again. Julian moved behind me. He was giving me space.m, but I knew he felt it—the silence that suddenly pressed down like stone.

Even after that very perfect moment!

“Are you okay?" He finally asked.

I swallowed, my throat turning dry.

“I just…” I finally whispered, voice catching in my throat. “I kept looking for him.”

Julian knelt beside me. His hand found mine, steady and warm. I couldn’t look at him yet.

“I stood there as they chanted my name. As the council placed that sash across my shoulders. And I kept thinkin

CHAPTER 102OUR CONNECTION.I stirred before the sun fully rose, warmth curling at the edge of my mind—not from the blankets, but from him.Raven… Julian’s voice brushed against my thoughts like a caress. Gentle, warm, coaxing. Wake up, sleepyhead.I smiled, eyes still closed. It’s barely morning… I murmured through the link, half-lost in the velvety haze of sleep. You’re dreaming of me again, he said smugly.I blinked awake to the soft thud of his heartbeat, steady and strong in the back of my mind. The bond shimmered gently, like a golden thread humming between us. “I wasn’t dreaming of you,” I muttered aloud, stretching beneath the covers.Liar, came his laughing response.“Arrogant wolf,” I whispered, but I was smiling.By the

CHAPTER 101QUIET MORNING.I woke up to heat radiating through my body.Julian was pressed against my back, his arm wrapped tight around my waist like I might disappear if he let go. His body was a furnace, grounding and solid. Normally, I would’ve melted into him, stayed wrapped in that warmth for hours. But this morning, I woke with a cold sweat clinging to my skin.Atena’s voice still echoed in my mind— lcalm, but full of warning. “You awakened something… It depends on which part of you answers the call.”Her eyes, those glowing silver orbs, had clearly seen something, something I hadn’t. Her words all struck deep, I didn't even know what to make of them.I swallowed hard, willing the chill away.Behind me, Julian stirred.“Raven?” Hi

CHAPTER 99THE MOMENT!“Raven Covey Desmond,” Elder Aldric called, voice sharp, and sure. “You have stood in shadow and fire. You have returned. You have endured. Do you come before your pack of your own will?”“I do,” I answered, my voice louder than I expected.“You come to be bound as their Luna—not by title, but by duty, spirit, and bond. Do you understand the weight of this vow?”“I do.”“Will you guide them as the Moon watches? Will you lead beside your mate in light and in storm? Will you protect even those who speak against you?”I swallowed and nodded. “I will.”Alric turned toward the crowd. “Does the pack accept Raven as their Luna?”The voices rose at once. “We do!”

CHAPTER 98RAVEN'S POVTHE WOODS HAD NEVER FELT SO STILL.The scent of ash was fading, replaced by damp moss, pine, and the distant hush of night animals returning to their routines.I walked beside Julian in silence, boots brushing leaves, arms close enough to touch but not quite. After my emotions let loose earlier today at the field, he hadn't left my side. The pack had retired for the night, it was just us.The moonlight filtered through the tall trees, casting silver lines on the earth. I tilted my head up and whispered, more to myself, “She’s watching us.”Julian glanced over. “The Moon Goddess?”I nodded. He gave a half-smile. “Then she picked a good night for it.”We kept walking, and after a while, his voice broke the hush again.&nbs

CHAPTER 97JULIAN'S POVREBUILDING!“Lift it higher. Higher—yes. Now brace it.”The beam groaned as the warriors hoisted it into place. I stood with his arms crossed, eyeing the reconstruction of the southern barracks like a hawk. Two days ago, that wall had caved in under a siege of fire and claws. Now, it was slowly rising again.Everything smelled like soot and sweat.“Secure the top with iron brackets,” I said to a young warrior who hadn’t stopped trembling since the attack. “Not rope. Ropes burn. Iron doesn’t.”“Yes, Alpha.”I gave a brief nod, then moved on. My legs ached, my back throbbed, and my body kept screaming at me to get some rest—but I ignored it. Pain was good. It reminded me that I'd lived when others hadn’t.
