CHAPTER 96

Isabella's P.O.V

"Bella... Bella.. wake up."

I opened my eyes to his face looming over mine. His mouth curled into a smile immediately when I opened my eyes. "Rise and shine. Good morning, sleeping beauty." Ethan greeted.

Even as I was still dazed by sleep, I blushed at his words slightly, and he noticed this too. Leave it for Ethan to notice everything.

"Don't just blush there, come on. We have a meeting to attend in the next hour." He said.

I was left trying to deduce when he had returned. Ethan had a flair for disappearing and appearing whenever he chose. The man was like a magician. But on the other hand, I knew why he was here. The reason for his sudden return was Mila's letter, which we received the previous day.

As Ethan moved off to take care of other things, I grudgingly rose from bed. It was way too early in the morning, and I had a late night. After Brian had bluntly refused to grant us entrance to see Emily, Tricia and I had returned to a late-night party where

CHAPTER 149Isabella's POVI stood on the edge of the pack, my gaze drawn to the towering mountains in the distance. The peaks glimmered in the winter sun, a striking contrast to the heavy unease churning in my stomach.Despite their breathtaking beauty, those mountains felt ominous, casting doubts that settled deep in my heart. I barely had a moment to gather my swirling thoughts before a familiar voice jolted me from my reverie.“Hey! What are you doing out here?” Emily bounded up beside me, her cheerful demeanor clashing with the turmoil inside me.I flinched at her sudden appearance, a startled smile slipping onto my face. “I was… just looking,” I admitted, trying to sound casual, though my smile didn’t quite reach my eyes.Emily tilted her head, concern flickering across her features. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”“I just… I don’t know if I’m ready for all this,” I murmured, my eyes darting back to the mountains as if they held the answers I desperately sought.“C’mon! You

CHAPTER 148Isabella's POVI leaned back in the soft leather seat, the warm air inside doing little to ease the tiredness that hung over me like a heavy blanket after hours of driving. My mother, Serenity, sat stiffly in the front seat, her usually bright personality dimmed by the tiredness from our long trip. Her lively features looked worn out, a clear change from her usual energy. Emily stayed quiet in the backseat, staring out the window at the scenery, her face blank. Was she caught up in her own thoughts about this big change, or just reflecting my own tiredness? We had been driving for over twenty-four hours, and the quiet in the car felt heavy, wrapping around us like a thick fog. My mind, craving distraction, drifted back to Ethan, and a familiar pain, sharp and strong, settled in my chest. It was strange how often I thought about him, missing him, even during this big change. I could almost hear his soft voice, feel the warmth of his eyes, and see the playful sparkle when he

CHAPTER 147Elena's POVI felt the cold of winter creeping under my skin as Axel and I pushed through the deep snow. Every breath made a misty cloud in front of me, and my legs felt heavy like they were stuck in syrup. We had been walking for hours after Derek Blackwood, a name I had thought was just a story told among our people. But now, we were chasing that story across dangerous, snow-covered ground, following a path that seemed to go on forever.*Elena, can you keep going?* Axel's voice popped into my head, a reliable support in my growing tiredness.“I don't know, Axel.” I said, feeling really frustrated. “We've been tracking him for too long. How much longer?”“Just a little more.” he promised, but I could tell he was trying to sound tough. “We’ve come a long way, and we can go faster as wolves. Just think of what we might discover.”I nodded, but I felt my energy fade. I had prepared myself to handle the cold and tiredness, yet it felt like the snow was hiding my determination

CHAPTER 146Ethan's POVI sat in the back seat of the car, the engine noise always reminding me of how far I had come and the burden I still had. The two guards from the Ravensong Pack were quiet, their serious faces showing how important this was.I looked out the window, seeing the trees speed by, memories of my time away mixing with the worry inside me. I was far from where I had last been, and the closer we got to the pack’s gates, the heavier my heart felt.As we neared the huge gates, a loud cannon blast rang out from inside, announcing my arrival. The noise shook my chest and awakened something deep inside me. Home.I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. The guards looked at each other, feeling the tension as the gates slowly opened with a loud creak. It felt unreal, but I knew I couldn’t go back. The car drove through the entrance, and I saw the familiar sights of the pack area. While we parked, I noticed familiar faces starting to gather, their expressions show

CHAPTER 145Isabella's POVI stood at the end of the big hall, a place that was once filled with laughter and dear memories from my childhood. Now, it hummed with the busy movements of servants, their footsteps ringing off the cold stone walls as they packed away the remains of my life in Stormfang. Each trunk they filled had parts of me—things that felt oddly familiar but completely strange. It had only been two days since I got here, but those days felt like forever.Nostalgia filled me, pulling at my heart as I thought of the little nook where I used to hide and escape into games of imagination. I created stories of adventure there, building dreams of great things and a better future. Back then, pretending to be a princess felt like just a daydream I never thought those fantasies would one day mix with my life.“Isabella!” Emily’s voice brought me back to now, breaking my daydream. She came closer, her bright blue dress and flowing dark hair full of energy. “We’re nearly set. You h

CHAPTER 144 Isabella's POV As I lay in bed with the darkness surrounding me like a thick blanket, I found myself looking at the ceiling, my mind caught in the whirlwind of feelings my mother had caused earlier that day. The painful truth nagged at me, not allowing me to sleep. “Now I hope she just left it hidden?” I whispered to the dark, feeling frustrated. For as long as I could remember, I had felt a gap between me and my wolf, a space that felt impossible to cross. Then, that discovery broke the weak grasp I had held onto. For years, I thought I was meant to lead, to be with my father. But no, I was meant to be the Luna Queen, the hidden power inside me ready to rise. “What does that mean?” I said quietly, almost a whisper. I felt a wave of uncertainty wash over me, taking away any calm I had. How could I make sense of this new identity and my past? “What if I'm not strong enough?” The minutes dragged on as I tossed and turned, the clock driving me crazy. Finally, I got so t
