LOGINRavenna's POV
"You look.... wow." Astrid's voice was breathy, her mouth wide open in admiration as she stared at me. "Vexley, you're stunning. Honestly, you're even more beautiful than Thalia."
I blinked. "Thalia?"
"Yes," she replied, nodding. "She's Ronan mate and everyone thought she was the prettiest girl in the academy, but I think you're prettier."
Of course, I know Thalia quite well. The beautiful Moon Crescent Princess.
I turned to the mirror and studied the reflection staring back—silky black gown clinging to every curve, and my long raven-dark hair flowing down my shoulders in waves. The makeup was simple yet elegant, and a pair of striking silver eyes.
I smiled faintly. "Thanks, Astrid. Let's hope the crowd agrees."
Astrid grinned. "Oh, they will. You might catch Ronan's attention tonight."
I didn't respond. Inside my heart twisted painfully at the mere sound of his name. If his name could unravel me this much, then I wondered how I'd react if I eventually saw him.
______
The grand hall was a sight to behold. Huge chandeliers lit up the room, and flowers adorned every corner in the Bloodmoon colours—Black and red. Laughter and chatter filled the entire room.
The moment Astrid and I walked into the room, heads turned as usual and I received a lot of compliments telling me how beautiful I look.
Astrid leaned in, whispering, "I told you they would agree,"
I forced a smile at her. An unknown feeling settled inside me as I recognised some of the pack members from three years ago. But now they weren't staring at me with disgust, or rage, they were staring at me in admiration, like I was someone special, someone valuable.
Then they entered. Ronan, dressed in a black robe adorned with golden cufflinks, walked between his parents like a prince walking into his future. Alpha Lucian's face was as calm as always and he looked proud of his son's achievement, Luna Selena —that witch looked as cold as ever. But all I could focus on was him. The same man who once held me, whispered promises into my ears.... before throwing me out to the wolves to devour.
My heart thundered painfully in my chest. My breaths became erratic, and I realized in that moment that Ronan betrayal was more painful than the dagger Selena drove into my heart.
I have to get out of here. It was quite too suffocating.
I turned to Astrid. "I'll be back."
She nodded without questions. Her attention was fixed on the same set of people I was trying to get away from.
Outside in the garden, the evening air wrapped around me. I took a seat on the bench, trying to steady myself.
"I guess crowds aren't for everyone."
I turned to my left, where the deep voice came from.
A man in his mid-thirties stood a few miles away, watching me. He was tall, effortlessly attractive, with sharp features and dark eyes that seemed to see my future. His white shirt was slightly unbuttoned, displaying his athletic build. He had that calm and commanding presence that no one could ignore.
He sqtepped closer and without permission took a seat beside me. "I'm Professor Kael." He extended a hand.
I hesitated. If there was something I had learnt all these years was never to trust blindly. But he had the aura that made it seem like I couldn't refuse him, so I took it. "Vexley Aleron."
"Transfer student?"
"Yes, I am."
"Strange timing," he noted. "Most people don't transfer with just two years left."
Why did he care? I forced myself not to snap at him and offered the same excuse I gave Astrid. "I've always dreamt of finishing at Bloodmoon. It's the best."
He gave a knowing smirk. "That's a good lie. Polished. Believable."
I frowned, caught off guard. "Excuse me?"
"You can fool everyone else, Miss Aleron," he said softly. "But not me."
What? Did he know? How....?
Before I could recover from my shock, he gave a small nod. "It's nice to meet you." Then he stood up and walked away, leaving me there, confused and shaken.
Did he know something about me? My face? My identity? Those questions ran through my mind as I made my way back inside. I didn't watch where I was going and I bumped into someone.
"Watch where you're going, bitch," the girl snapped.
When I realised myself and looked up at her, my eyes narrowed, recognition flooding my features. Thalia.
Her icy-blue eyes pinned me with the same disdain as three years ago like I was filth daring to stain her shoes.
Anger rose inside me. "No, you watch where you're going, bitch," I fired back, matching her venom.
Gasps echoed from the students nearby. Thalia's face was covered in a mix of rage and shock. I bet no one dared spoke to her in that manner before.
She raised her hand to slap me. "I should really teach you some —"
But I caught her wrist mid-air, twisted it hard, and flung her backward. Thalia crashed onto the polished floor with a humiliating thud. At this moment, all eyes were already on us. Whispers, and gasps filled the entire room.
I stepped forward, towering over her, my voice low but sharp.
“You don’t get to lay your filthy hands on me, princess.”
For the first time, I saw something flicker in her eyes—fear.
And then they appeared. Ronan and Luna Selena stepped forward. Ronan's face landed on me, burning with anger and something else. Attraction? Or perhaps recognition? But I knew the asshole couldn't recognise me.
I don't know that strange look, but I knew it wasn't completely hatred. Selena’s eyes were daggers, cutting straight through me before sliding to Thalia who was still on the floor.
“How did you get in here? We don’t allow filth in this place.”
The words pierced deeper than I wanted to admit. The same words she had spat at me my entire life. "Guards! Throw her out," she ordered.
The guards stepped forward. My heart skipped a beat. I couldn’t afford to be dragged out—not now. Not before my plan even began.
So I forced my legs to buckle. I dropped to my knees, bowing low enough for every whisper in the room to carry.
“I’m sorry, Luna,” I said, my voice loud, laced with false humility. “Please… forgive your unruly servant.”
The hall went utterly still.
Ronan's POV"Ronan, come back inside."My father’s voice echoed down the hallway just as I turned the corner away from the clinic. I stopped, I hadn't even reached my quarters yet, and he was already calling me back. I sighed, turning around, and walked back into the grand council hall. The room was empty now, the long table completely clear, but my father was still standing by the tall windows. He didn't look angry anymore."Sit down," he said, gesturing to the chair closest to him.I sat down, keeping my back straight. "Father, if this is about Thalia again—""It is," he interrupted, turning around to face me. He walked over and sat directly across from me. "But not in the way you think. I've been thinking about what you said. And I've been thinking about that girl. Vexley."I kept my face completely blank. "What about her?""She is truly a beautiful and wise woman," my father said, a small, sad smile touching his lips. "I watched the way she spoke to your mother, and I saw ho
Ronan’s POVThalia stood frozen between the two elite guards, her entire body rigid with disbelief. Her dark eyes widened as she stared at me, looking as though she couldn't comprehend what she had just heard. The order placing her under house arrest seemed leaving her completely stunned."You... you must be joking, Ronan," Thalia whispered, a manic, disbelieving laugh bubbling up from her throat."You are placing me under house arrest? The daughter of the northern Grand Alpha? In your own palace? You have completely lost your mind.""I have never been more serious in my entire life, Thalia," I stepped closer. "Look at what your psychotic jealousy has done. Look at her! Your malicious, wicked nature is the exact reason why I have hesitated to finalize this marriage for three years. I have sat back and watched you act superior to everyone in this court. I have watched you bully the servants, threaten the staff, and treat this entire pack like your personal playground. But targeting a
Ravenna’s POV Deep inside my heart, I was perfectly calm. I knew with certainty that Thalia hadn't sent that biker. The accident had been completely random. No one had planned it. It was nothing more than a reckless twist of fate that I had chosen to take advantage of.But the truth didn't matter.Blaming Thalia was a calculated move—a risk I took to push Ronan to his breaking point.I wanted to force him to choose a side once and for all. I needed him drowned in a toxic mixture of suffocating guilt and rage against his fiancée. I needed him to see her as a monster so that he would finally find the courage to destroy their alliance."What?" Ronan whispered, his voice trembling as his grip on my hand tightened to the point of pain. "No... no, Vexley, that’s impossible. Thalia wouldn't have done such a thing. She is arrogant, and she has a vicious temper, but she wouldn't resort to attempted murder on pack grounds. It’s too risky."I forced a fresh wave of tears to pool in my eyes,
Ravenna’s POVThe look on Ronan’s face had been absolutely priceless—he was a man completely starved, standing on the edge of a cliff I had built for him. But my triumph lasted for only a fraction of a second. The moment I stepped past the hallway leading toward the palace’s main exit, a sharp, suffocating scent hit my nose.*Thalia.*She stood in the middle of the hallway, her arms folded tightly across her chest. It was clear she had been waiting for us.The moment her eyes landed on us, a storm of anger flashed across her face. She looked like someone who had been waiting for this exact moment. She had clearly been waiting for me to leave his mother's wing. The moment her blazing eyes locked onto my face, she stepped forward, completely blocking my path."Well, well, look who it is," Thalia sneered, her voice dripping with pure hatred. "The little gutter rat finally crawled out of the royal quarters. Tell me, Vexley, does it make you feel important to play dress-up and kiss up to
Ravenna’s POVThe room fell silent.Ronan stood frozen in the doorway, unable to move. His eyes shifted from the beautiful gown in his mother's hands to my face.Confusion and panic filled his expression as he simply stared, as if trying to understand what he was seeing.Luna Selena turned her face to her son, her sharp gaze settling on him, a look of suspicion crossed her face. "Ronan, what is the meaning of this? Why on earth did you tell Vexley that today was my birthday when it clearly isn’t?"Ronan blinked in surprise, he looked completely caught off guard, as if his mind was racing to make sense of what was happening. For few seconds, he stood there speechless, thinking of what he could say to defend himself. "I... what? Mother, I didn't—""Oh, Prince Ronan, don't try to deny it now!" I quickly chipped in, letting out a soft, embarrassed chuckle as I stepped smoothly into the conversation. I turned to the Queen, making my face calm and innocent as I pretended to remember some
Ravenna’s POV The pain and hesitation in Ronan's eyes did nothing to soften me.If anything, it only made my anger burn hotter.I could see the longing written all over his face. A part of him clearly wanted to reach for me, to close the distance between us and stop fighting whatever he was feeling.Yet he remained frozen in place.Something was holding him back—something powerful enough to overcome even his deepest instincts.I couldn't understand it.Why was he resisting so hard? Why did he look at me like he wanted me more than anything, yet refuse to take a single step forward? The mystery frustrated me more than I cared to admit."I am done wasting my breath on you," I hissed, turning on my heel. I grabbed my bag and stormed out of his executive office, slamming the door behind me so hard the glass panels rattled.I marched down the corridor, my breath coming in short, angry gasps. But I didn't even make it to the end of the hallway before I heard his heavy boots sprinting afte
