Chapter 5: Explanation

Chapter 5: Explanation

“Master, are you okay?” asked Winter when he saw Master Fang’s face, which looked so cloudy and angry at the same time.

The old man glanced at Winter as he gave a sweet smile that looked very forced. Master Fang didn’t want Winter to worry.

“Oh, it’s nothing, Winter,” said Master Fang as he returned Hanna’s hair to its original state. After that, he rubbed Hanna’s forehead and cast a spell on the girl. Miraculously, Hanna’s body temperature dropped drastically and is now back to normal.

“Explain slowly about our world, Winter,” Master Fang advised as he gave his protégé a sharp look. Winter snorted in annoyance but preferred to obey rather than see Hanna in pain again like before.

“Alright then, Master. I’ll try to explain it to her again.”

“Sounds good. In that case, I’m going home first, Winter. Take care of yourself and don’t blame fate if your life feels like it’s being played,”

Winter’s face scrunched up in surprise at his master’s words, which seemed so odd. Winter wanted to ask the old man about this. However, Master Fang had already disappeared, along with the leaves that fell on the floor, indicating that he had left the Cakradara residence.

“Danielle, please clean Hanna’s body. If she asks about my whereabouts when she wakes up, just tell her that I’m working at the North Castle,” Winter said as she continued to look at Hanna with a sad look. Shortly after, Winter left to do his duty.

Hanna woke up from her sleep when it was already midnight. She glanced out the window and saw that the full moon was shining brightly in the sky.

The moon was so beautiful that Hanna couldn’t take her eyes off it. Due to bored, Hanna tried to take a walk to see the castel more closely.

The temperature of the night air was chilling to the bones. Hanna draped the thin blanket she was wearing on her back to ward off the cold.

After that, the girl walked outside barefoot.

The castle, which felt luxurious, turned out to be quite creepy at night because there was no light in the room except for the moonlight. Hanna unconsciously walked towards the garden in the northern part of the castle.

“It looks like I’m lost,” Hanna muttered softly as she glanced around. However, Hanna did not find anyone other than herself. Hanna’s goosebumps bristled, and her body trembled with cold and fear.

Hana glanced at the bushes because she heard the sound of scraping leaves that looked so suspicious. Although frightened, the girl still forced herself to see what was in the bushes.

She was surprised to see a large, dark gray wolf with aqua-colored irises grimacing in pain because of a large wound on the animal’s back. The wound on the animal’s back looked quite large, with blood oozing out of its beautiful fur. The wolf looked at Hanna with a weak gaze. Hanna, who basically has a good heart, forced herself to approach the wolf and treat it with simple materials.

After being treated, the wolf licked Hanna’s face fondly. Hanna, who felt scared, tried to stroke the carnivore’s fur gently. The wolf seemed to enjoy stroking Hanna like a puppy. Soon, the animal transformed into the young man she had been feuding with, Winter.

“Thank you for helping me,”

Hanna opened her eyes when she saw the wolf she had treated turn into a human. Disbelief and amazement were clearly drawn on the girl’s face. But on the other hand, fear also appeared because Hanna thought that the person in front of her was a dangerous person.

Hanna would have almost run away if Winter hadn’t grabbed her wrist. Winter looked at Hanna with a sad and hurting gaze as he held his chest as if he were enduring an inexplicable pain.

“Please listen to me for just a moment. Let me go back to explaining myself from the beginning.”

Hanna paused for a moment as she weighed her decision on this request from the werewolf in front of her.

“Alright, I’ll follow your wishes. But if you lie to me again, then I won’t hesitate to leave here,” Hanna threatened with bulging eyes. Winter nodded his head with a weak smile.

Winter invited Hanna to sit on a chair in the center of the garden. Both of them were sitting and looking at the moonlight that was shining brightly in the starless sky.

“Allow me to explain to you from the beginning about my world,” Winter paused for a moment to neutralize the nervousness that was now engulfing him. “This may sound absurd to you, but creatures like us are real and mingle with you.”

Hana tries to listen as she feels every word coming out of Winter’s mouth.

“Many people have misconceptions about us, especially werewolves. Humans often portray werewolves as brutal creatures that don’t deserve to live on earth,” Winter looked up to see the moon illuminating him and Hanna.

“But we are very different from what humans portray. We have our own rules for not attacking and eating human flesh. In addition, we also have the principle that we will only have one partner until we die.”

“Wow, it turns out that your race is a loyal creature too,” Hanna commented with a sweet smile. Winter turned to the girl’s face in pain. The young man squeezed his chest tighter, which made the shirt he was wearing look wrinkled.

“But there are times when the mate of a werewolf rejects us. Besides, if our mate is human, then the rejection can also be greater with higher risks, Hanna.”

Winter unbuttoned his clothes one by one, exposing his body to Hanna without hesitation. Hanna was naturally shocked and spontaneously closed her eyes using both hands. However, Winter lowered Hanna’s hands so that she could clearly see what the current situation was like for the young man.

“Hanna, please don’t close your eyes and look at my body for a moment!” Winter pleaded in a weakened tone of voice. Hanna followed the order and looked at Winter’s body. Hanna was very surprised to see a black rose mark on Winter’s left chest, precisely in the heart area. Hanna’s hand reached out to touch the rose mark as she gently stroked it.

“This mark will appear when our mate rejects us or doesn’t trust us,” Winter grasped Hanna’s hand that was on his chest as he looked at Hanna with a cry that was clearly audible in the girl’s ears. “It hurts like being stabbed by a thousand needles.”

“I didn’t know my rejection would be this fatal,” Hanna murmured in a hurt tone as the young man who had helped her looked in so much pain with the gruesome marks clearly printed on his broad chest.

“So, how can I help you?”
