Chapter Ten- What Is After Your Life Kendra

Seeing that Damian’s gaze had softened a little, Layla thought it was the best time to play her cards well.

After thinking through her request for a while, she pleaded,

“ Please let me see Ava for the last time. We’ve been friends for a long and I just want to see and talk to her before my wedding”.

Damian almost believed her but Ava is not one to trust easily. Layla might be smart but she’s very intelligent, she might be up to something again.

He asked bitterly,

“Why should I believe you? What if it’s a trick to run away with your so-called best friend?”

For the first time in a while, Layla lifted her head and looked him in the eyes.

“ I will do no such thing, I promise” she pleaded.

All she wanted was to see Ava and explain the situation of things to her.

Damian was still not convinced.

“ You lied to me earlier”

Layla was so ashamed and she lowered her head and apologized.
