New betrayers? I just knew of the betrayal by her and Michael. The disaster would have been far worse if more members of the pack had been involved. For one whole minute, I racked my brain for a lead on who might be responsible. Who would want to kill us? I just couldn't think of anyone.

I narrowed my eyes at her. Perhaps she was just bluffing? Nonetheless, I knew that we shouldn't take anything lightly. These renegades were plotting to annihilate an entire pack of wolves. And that too because of something neither of us had any control over.

"You're lying," Beta Bert mumbled, staring at her.

Ah, I see I'm not the only one who suspected she was fibbing. I gave her a stern and judgmental look out of the corner of my eye. She might be lying, of course. She would intentionally mislead us in order to stir up controversy. We can't put our faith in a traitor.
