Scarlett’s pov

My head felt like it was about to burst open. The splitting headache didn’t ease regardless of how much time I had spent trying to relax. Quite some time had passed since I had woken up from my sleep. Ever since I woke up, my head had been pounding.

Wincing in pain, I shifted. Why wouldn’t the agony cease?

“Iris?” I called for my wolf, but it seemed to be that she too was still drowsy. All I received in response was a little groan. Hopefully, she too was gradually waking up.

I massaged my forehead in an attempt to ease the distress. It helped a little. But I couldn’t think of a reason for such a severe headache. While I lay on my back, I tried to recall the last place I had been. I remembered being officiated as the luna of Crimson Crescent, while Gavin became the new alpha. I sighed at the remembrance of my beloved mate. I sure hoped that he was around. I could really use the warmth of our bond to heal the pain in my head.
