The following day arrived with a new challenge for Aarunya as she had to sit within the same room that too with the same man who she hated from her core after so long years to have breakfast together.
As for Trayaksh, then his hawk-like eyes were fixated on Aarunya as he sat across her at the oval-shaped and elegant dining table. Aarunya noticed the way he kept stealing glances, as if curious to know more about her yet again while she tried her best to maintain the facade of being a loving and caring wife to her oh so called hubby dearest. The servants stayed in their place, bowing their heads down and waiting for any order from their young master and young mistress. His gaze kept fixated on the woman who was taking the bites of her food quickly, her actions were anything but steady, her eyes fixed on the plate in front of her as she ignored the existence of her husband completely. "What a messy eater" Trayaksh's inner self uttered inside. "Mhm..messy... but cute. A beautiful mess" His inner consciousness spoke again as his lips automatically and unknowingly curved into a small smile looking at the cute woman in front of him. Trayaksh was never a fan of mess. In Fact the Rajput heir always liked his things well arranged and steady, a life balanced and under his control but looking at his wife, now all he could think of is how even mess is ephemeral. Ephemeral... Just like her. Ocean. He unknowingly mumbled as Aarunya's ears perked up hearing his voice. "Why aren't you eating?" Concealing her nervousness, she asked while slightly raising her hazel- honey eyes at him as if trying to change the topic. "I can't eat by myself. My hand is still injured after the accident" He reasoned, showing her his hand plastered and covered as he licked his lips with a sly smirk on that handsome face. "I see. Maybe Azad uncle would help you.. Should I call him here?" Trayaskh frowned hearing her suggestion as his thick brows wrinkled and lip twitched in distaste. "Why would I need Azad uncle when my beautiful wife is sitting in front of me hm?" Aarunya's eyes widened as she wasn't not expecting his shameless answer. "This man is truly shameless! Absurd." Her inner self spoke up and she tried her best not to sneer at him. Aarunya wanted to throw the whole jug of ice-cold water on his face and leave upstairs to her floor but unfortunately she knew she's bound and trapped right now with the dummy monster infront of her. She hesitated at first but she couldn't let Trayaksh get a hint of her inner turmoil so forcing a smile on her face, she got up from her chair and sat next to him. "Say aaaa" She spoke, her tone mocking as she held the silver spoon in her slender finger and dipping it inside the bowl of corn soup as she fed Trayaksh. He couldn't help but grin at her words. "Is his wife really treating him like a child out of love or is she mocking him up suddenly?" Trayaksh couldn't help but think deep inside his thoughts. Opening his mouth he grinned, slightly muttering an "aaaa" while she continued to feed him, both unbothered by their surroundings as the servants couldn't help but be shocked at seeing the new avatar of their ruthless master who didn't even spare a glance towards their young mistress for years. During the whole time his eyes kept gazing at her, the way her petite frame looked so tiny and small in front of his own muscular and large body frame, the way her slender fingers moved up to feed him each bite so softly, so slowly, the way she looked nervous every time she fed him those small bites of food, a jolt of electricity passed through his body, each time there thighs brushed together. "Oh fucking god. She's killing me softly!" His inner self uttered out. Trayaksh couldn't decipher how his little wife was having such a strong effect over him. He had always been a man in control and now, here he was, glancing at her from time to time, attracting towards her like a moth drawn towards a flame. A flame which could even burn him into ashes of his own past. And here she was, oblivious to the storm of emotions that was raging within him, the conflicting desires that warred inside his heart as he tried his best to control his racing heart, each time their thighs touched together unknowingly. He watched as she finally went upstairs, her petite figure disappeared into the tenebrous spiral staircase, leaving only darkness and the trails of her sweet rose scent behind. He couldn't help but sniff the scent hitting his nostrils like a creep, an Obsessed man, he continued to take her scent in, wanting to drown himself in the abyss of her beauty and the purity which reflects from her soul. "Get a grip Trayaksh. What the hell is happening to me? What are you doing to me, woman?" He mumbled with his voice gruff yet soft at the same time. "Sweet Ocean, what magic are you doing to me?" He couldn't help but ask, his gaze still fixated on the tenebrous spiral staircase praying to catch a glimpse of his honey eyed beauty. His Did he just say this?" My wife Mine.... *** The whole day passed in a frenzy for Trayaksh as all he could think of was his honey eyed beauty who had bewitched him inside her orphic self. Trayaksh couldn't help but notice every little movement she made all day long. Everytime she carefully checked on the staff of the Mansion, each time her gaze met his own and all of the time she bit her lips nervously each time she gazed at his Onyx eyes raking over her from head to toe not leaving a single inch of her untouched through his intense gaze. He found himself missing her when she wasn't around. Every hour without her felt like a torture. Even Trayaksh had no idea why he felt such an intense pull towards her. What is it inside her that makes him drawn towards her? Those honey orbs? That piercing cold gaze? Maybe the way she seems so messy yet so mesmerizing? Or the pain and agony which she hides beneath those depths of her deep oceanic heart? She is the first ever woman who's attention he's desperately trying to seek no matter how much he denies it but deep down Tryaksh knows that his emotions are defeating him. He knows that he's playing a losing battle . He wants her to notice him, to spare him a glance, read his thoughts about her but all she does is to avoid his existence and everytime he feels a stab inside his chest each time he watches her forcing smile on her lush lips infront of him Why can't she feel what he's feeling inside? Why? His inner self repeated. For Trayaksh, Aarunya was like winter. Beautiful yet cold. He remembers how he hated winters but he still wanted to go out. To touch the white snow falling outside and feel it in his skin. Azad kept looking at Trayaksh who seemed to be lost in the abyss of his own thoughts as Azad could see the conflicting emotions swirling through those darkened Onyx orbs as if he's having a fight within himself, with his own thoughts, his own heart and mind. Azad Remembed evrything about Trayaksh's childhood. A pain which Trayaksh always buried deep inside his chest. As a frail child during his childhood a young Trayaksh wasn't allowed to go outside and play, unlike his siblings who would enjoy winters without any restriction. Being the eldest heir of the Rajputs and trained to be the future CEO of their business, he was always surrounded by cold eyes who raised him with discipline and coldness all along. He was born to rule and ruin, and that's what he was told. For his siblings their toys and expensive gifts they were showered with was the source of their happiness. But for Trayaksh, he found joy in making sketches. Those pencils and papers were his world and each thing which inspired him were his arts, something inside which he found his solace in. He had always been a silent kid and the only goal he had was to make his parents proud despite his frail health as a child. All Trayaksh wanted was appreciation from his mother. A mother who never looked at him with warmth in her eyes. Her same eyes which held affection towards the little pair of twins, his younger siblings. Those two were the apples of Gargi's eyes. As for Trayaksh then all she had for him was coldness outside - inside. Nobody knew the side of her story but everybody could easily see her distaste towards her own elder son. He should have been a source of her happiness but unfortunately Gargi always looked at Trayaksh as if he's the highest thorn in her perfect World. Being raised by cold eyes taught him to never cry over things. To control and demolish anything which becomes his weakness. Rajputs never bow down, they keep their head high, ruthlessly and proudly high. With poison and Pride running down their veins The Rajputs were a force to be reckoned with. That's what he told everyday by his late grandfather which did make him into a feral beast protective for his family, he would burn anybody who dares to touch what's his. From an early age he was surrounded by people who had taught him the meaning of power and his ability to rule over the whole Rajput empire. Trayaksh's father on the other hand was the only person who truly cared for Trayaksh. Taksh Rajput was the only warmt that Trayaksh ever felt. Unlike his grandfather who was a ruthless buisnessman, his father, Taksh, was a man of morals, an epitome of strength and warmth in the cold world of Trayaksh. He was the only person who taught Trayaksh the meaning of humanity and kindness but all the warmt faded away the day his father passed away. An accident which dilapidated Trayaksh's life, snatching away the only source of light from his dark world. His father. It was the day when the dark enveloped Trayaksh, finally surrounding him with calamitous tragedy which shook him to the very core. That day he turned himself into a feral beast burning in Revenge. The flames of his vengeance once started and never extinguished as the monsters inside him lost control, creating a disastrous future for both him and Aarunya. Trayaksh turned himself into the same beast which Taksh never wanted. The first time his eyes fell on Aarunya, he knew she's the one for him. The one he despised yet wanted. The girl with same hazel eyes of her father, the same man who shattered his family. He'll take those lights and dreams growing inside her eyes, he'll snatch them away just how her father snatched the only warmth he had in his life, in the form of his father. On that day, Trayaksh vowed to make her whole life a tragedy, to reduce her into nothing but a song of melancholy, a living hell where the only companions she would ever have will be pain and agony and he would gladly see her father dying each day, he'll see her bastard of a father suffer each time his daughter would cry tears of blood and true to his words he did exactly what he promised to himself, but at the cost of his own destruction which he, himself wasn't aware of. Little did he knew that Aarunya's life wasn't a fairytale either.... She had a father, the one who always wanted a son. For who she was nothing but an unwanted burden and the only source of happiness in her own life was her mother. Only if he knew.... Destroying her was the only ambition he had. Shattering her soul was his only solace. And her tears which he always considered as a source of his satisfaction even though deep down he knew that her honey hazel eyes are stirring something inside him and something was breaking inside of him every time When each day he broke her into pieces. Something inside him would break each time she cried river. Something inside him shattered each time she looked at him with disgust. In all those nine years, Trayaksh could handle everything except for her emotion less face. For some reason he didn't wanted her to be emotion less infront of him. He could tolerate her hate, her disgust and the coldness in her eyes but never her emotion less eyes. For each time he looked, it broke something inside him, shattering his soul into tiny mere pieces of dust crumbled under her hatred and agony. But the animalistic urge to be her ruin, the beasts inside him kept pushing all his feelings away until the day he realised the worth of the woman he thought he despised. Until it was too late.... Too late to turn back time.... Because once it's lost then there's no going back. The wind blew gently through the Rajput estate, yet something felt off.Aarunya sat in the study room, Aranya asleep in his pram beside her. She unfolded the note she’d found tucked inside the spine of a book in Trayaksh’s library. She had no idea who this person was and why they were offering help to her.Aarunya was suspicious but she still decided to play along, so that she could unwrap the mystery behind this person.Aarunya opened the note "If you truly want to know the truth of the Rajputs, go to the Old Rajput Mansion in Delhi. The walls there have secrets dug up inside them. The old mansion is the place where it all began.."- Your well-wisher.Her pulse quickened at that moment.Who was this person? And what would this person even achieve from all of this? One thing was clear. Whoever this person was, they knew things which Gargi was hiding. And Aarunya was ready to uncover it.The Old Rajput Mansion…She folded the note slowly and looked toward Aranya with a gentle smile.
The soft clink of porcelain echoed in the Rajput dining hall as the morning sun filtered through the embroidered silk curtains, painting golden patterns across the marble floors, giving a dreamy look to the whole mansion. It was a beautiful morning. But not all beautiful things were tolerant. At least not for Aarunya, especially when she looked at the face of her sinner everyday. Aarunya sat at the head of the table, regal in her mermaid strapped silk ivory dress. Her expression was calm, almost too calm like a serene lake that hid the ruins of a storm beneath its shiny surface.Trayaksh was beside her, gently feeding bits of mashed banana to their son Aranya. The sight would make anyone fall for the gentle looking man.Except Aarunya. For, she had already seen the monster behind his gentle smile. She watched them with a smile, but behind her eyes lived storms, ready to ruin, ready to destroy.“Aranya’s becoming more cute like you every day,” Trayaksh whispered with a soft smile.Sh
The night was painted in shadows as Aarunya stood at the balcony of her room, her eyes fixed on the moon above. She wasn't praying. She wasn’t admiring the moon either. She was calculating, planning, plotting her revenge. Each day brought her closer to her goal. Each night sharpened her resolve to destroy the people who wronged her.The words written in the letter from the anonymous sender still played inside her mind. She wondered if there were other dark shadows lurking around the haunted Rajput estate. She wondered what if Trayaksh wasn’t the only monster in the Rajput family. Her fingers closed into a fist, nails digging into her palm and the air behind her shifted to something more colder. She didn’t turn around. She already knew who it was.“Did you get it?” she asked, her voice filled with authority only a queen gets to speak with.“Yes,” said the voice. The same staff member she had recruited earlier. The one loyal to her, not by heart but by fear.Fear, a word enough to make
Sunlight crept into the room like a thief, golden and gentle, too gentle for the war that raged beneath Aarunya's heart.Aarunya blinked slowly, her lashes heavy with sleep she didn’t even remember falling into. She just fell asleep the previous night after tucking Arabya to his crib. The scent of jasmine still lingered on the bedsheets. A breeze passed through the half-open balcony door. And then came the soft knock. It was Trayaksh. He entered with a smile so soft, it could’ve melted any heart, if only it hadn’t once been used to mock her after everytime she was raped in the past.“Good morning, Ocean,” he said, his voice deep and warm, like a song he’d never known how to sing before. A song he was learning only for her.For Aarunya.Aarunya cringed from his voice but she covered her expressions. She sat up slowly, letting the silk bedsheet slip from her shoulder gently.“Good morning,” she replied, her voice honeyed soft.“I made you breakfast,” he beamed, placing the tray on her
The morning air was colder despite the summer sun. A strange stillness hung over the Rajput estate, it was not peaceful but the eerie calm before a huge storm. Aarunya adjusted the soft blanket over Aranya and walked out of the nursery, her mind already racing through her next plan. The letter from last night still haunted her not because of any fear, but because of its truth. There were secrets buried in the Rajput family. She was going to find them. And she was going to use them against the Rajputs. As she walked through the hallway, her footsteps light yet firm, a sudden sound made her pause in her tracks. “Bhabhi,” a soft voice called from behind. It was Taranya. Aarunya turned around, masking her wariness with a serene and soft smile. “Hmm?” Taranya stood with folded arms, her eyes sharp as if she was suspecting things. “Why did Chef Narayan leave?” she asked quietly. “And why are you changing all the staff suddenly?” Aarunya’s smile didn’t falter, but her fingers curle
A huge storm arrived making the trees swing, flowers sway and dark clouds gather around the Rajput estate. It rained heavily the whole night. The morning rays of sun finally passed through the curtains indicating that the storm had passed, but the silence it left behind was far more dangerous.Aarunya stood by the window of her room in the Rajput estate, her eyes resting on the swaying trees outside. The early morning sunlight painted golden patterns on the marble floor, but her mind was elsewhere, trapped in memories, in pain, and in plans she made to ruin, to destroy her destroyers.Aranya slept peacefully on the bed behind her, wrapped in the soft folds of a soft handmade quilt. His tiny fingers twitched in sweet dreams.A soft smile tugged at Aarunya's lips as she looked at her small baby bird sleeping peacefully. “Just some more time, my sweet angel. Then mommy will take her Aranya away from this hell of a place.” She whispered and pressed a soft kiss on the top of Aranya’s head
