Days passed soon turning into two weeks but Trayaksh's infatuation with Aarunya remained the same. In fact it was starting to take a deep turn where he could no longer go back to the man he used to be.

He was smitten.

Enchanted by the hazel and honey eyed orphic beauty.

Everyday he would try to find a new reason to keep her close. Whether it was asking for her help with the excuse of his injuries or wanting to know more about their marriage life which she usually shrugged off making him more curious each passing day.

He would notice her every moment. The way her lush lips would move while talking, the way her petite body moved, she was an epitome of elegance yet messy and cute. A deadly blend of everything which made his heart race with a foreign feeling and his eyes darkened with darkest inky desires.

Aarunya, his arcane.

Truth to be told the she is a mystery to him.

So near yet so far.

In these weeks many things changed in Trayaksh's life. His heart thumped fast when Azad informed him about Aranya. For Trayaksh that little name changed his whole world in a second.

He was a father.

He had a child.

A part of him and the woman he was enchanted with.

The fact that he didn't remember his own flesh and blood made his heart ache with agony. But soon the burning inside his chest turned into a calm as he held the Toddler in his arms.

With shaky hands, Trayaksh held a sleeping Aranya in his arms. Feeling the baby's soft little head touching his hard and muscular chest spreaded a warmth inside his heart which he himself couldn't decipher into words.

It felt like an eternity as he kept keeping the sleeping child close to him. Kissing his forehead, Trayaksh settled the baby down into its crib. He turned to leave but immediately froze in his tracks as he heard the soft little giggles of little Aranya who was finally awake.

A smile crept on his lips itself as he looked at those mesmerizing hazel eyes which the tiny creature was adorned with.

Aarunya

Those eyes.

Ocean.

"magnificent"

He couldn't help but speak. His son had the same eyes of Aarunya.

His wife.

That Ethereal woman who has him captivated in her oceanic hazel eyes.

He stepped forward as his fingers brushed the soft apple cheeks grazing at those cuts features of his son. He could clearly see Aranya's resemblance with him. His son was a spitting image of Trayaksh, blessed with those hazel eyes and the enchanting smile of Aarunya.

"You'll be a heartbreaker once you grow up, little one"

Trayaksh couldn't help but speak softly as the baby giggled softly, his smile as captivating as his mother's, making Trayalsh's heart swell with affection towards the little bundle of joy. He couldn't believe this ball of sunshine was his son, his flesh and blood.

Little Aranya held his father's Pinky finger with his own tiny baby hand making Trayaksh chuckle in amusement as he kept looking at his son's mischievous and cute antics.

Trayaksh couldn't help thinking of the difference between both of them. Where he was gloomy as the darkness itself there was his own little one who was the total opposite of his father. Aranya, a sunshine who could light up the whole world with just his captivating smile and affectionate glance. That smile, same as his mother Aarunya's precious smile. She has truly bestowed him the most beautiful gift anyone could have ever given to him.

She had given him his own sunshine, a part of him he never knew would ever exist and Trayaksh knew he would be forever grateful to that lovely woman for everything she had bestowed him. For everything she has ever been.

And from that moment Trayaksh Rajput knew that Aarunya Agarwal was irreplaceable.

***

Time kept passing as Trayaksh couldn't deny his growing affection towards his child and its mother any longer. He wanted to make them smile. To be the reason for their happiness. To be the cause of their contagious laugh and giggles all together. He wanted them. He needed them to be his forever.

Every day Trayaksh noticed how Aarunya looked outside the window as if a captive bird looking at the sky with her eyes full of hopes as if trying to find a sense of freedom. She was a woman who didn't talk much but he knew that her actions spoke volumes which her words couldn't.

Holding their son on her arms protectively, she hugged Aranya close to her heart as her hazel orbs kept looking outside the huge window, her eyes speaking a sad story on its own, her gaze possessing a longing of something while her tongue was sealed. She looked like a siren craving and dying each second to sing it's melody

A Siren with sealed lips and a shattered soul.

Only if he knew that the reason behind her agony was none other than he himself.

Did she want to go out?

He wondered every day.

He couldn't help but think about her past before their marriage.

What was her past like before she met him?

How did they even meet?

Did she used to be a bubbly girl? A girl who dreamt of fairy tales?or a girl who used to love silence. Yet under her Silent facade he could notice a flicker of stubborness, a resilience inside, a phoenix fire which could burn anything including a whole empire into ashes.

"Ocean"

She froze hearing his gruff voice, his tone gruff yet not unkind. It was nothing new for her anymore nowadays as in these two weeks, Aarunya was habitual of him calling her with this name. Earlier it indeed used to make her feel disgusted but it's not like she could do anything for it. And now she's habitual just like she was habitual of the torture he had put her through in the past.

"Yes?"

She asked, her voice holding slight suspicion.

What did he want right now? A new drama to torment her.

Will he tell her to change his dressing or maybe he would bark in front of her to feed him.

Aarunya raised her brows in bewilderment with thoughts swirled inside her mind but his unexpected words made her eyes widen in shock and her heart thud in surprise yet a bit of happiness.

"Let's go out today, along with Aranya"

His unexpected words made her freeze as she looked at him in surprise.

He would take her outside?

After so many years?

She indeed went on events with him as his perfect little wife in the past but everytime he would keep his hawk-like eyes at her, noticing her movements like a predator keeping an eye on its prey.

In the past, Aarunya was free, free as a caged bird.

A bird who couldn't fly.

A bird who would talk on the whim of her master.

Her master, her husband, the monster named Trayaksh.

"Will you really take me out?"

The words automatically fell out of her tongue as she tasted the sourness of the prompt she was speaking of.

He nodded, his sincere eyes meeting hers in a delicate war of his fondness and her suspicion.

"Can't I take my wife out, hm?"

Hearing his words, she shook her head off. She wouldn't let him be suspicious of their relationship after all. She didn't wanted to fill in his curiosities.

It had already been weeks since Azad had put on his best act, fabricating his lies and made Trayaksh believe into his deceitful lies about how Taksh, Gargi and his siblings were out of the country since a month.

Lying to Trayaksh Rajput without making him suspecious was the most dangerous thing a person could ever do and Azad was one of the only rare people who could do it smoothy without waking up the sleeping beast inside Trayskh. As for Aarunya then she had no intention to fill his curiosity and get into a more deep trouble as one question would arise another thus knitting the web of lies deeper and deeper until she would end up trapping herself into Trayaksh's caliginous clutches yet again.

"I mean why so suddenly?"

She asked forcing a smile on her lips though her curious eyes looked at him, wanting the answers of this sudden change

What changed?

She couldn't help but think.

Why is he doing this?

The thoughts kept dancing inside her mind making it difficult for her to think about anything else.

"I just wish to spend some time with my family. With my wife and our son, together as a family."

His words sent a shiver down her spine.

A family?

He Called her a family?

Why is he trying to be the perfect Husband he never was?

What's with this sudden change in his demeanor?

Or is this memory loss Just another plan to destroy her in the worst way possible?

He wants to be a family with her? After ruining her, he wants to be her family?

This man has always been beyond infuriating.

ludicrous.

She thought, chuckling bitterly, feeling sick with apprehension and the bitterness inside of her.

Trayaksh wished to give her the freedom which she was longing for since an eternity but only if he knew that the blurred lines of their past were still chaining them with the tragic thread of destruction which was bound to be the eternal truth of their story.

And love between them was beyond impossible as his past sins had already broken the bonny fantasy which she once had woven inside her sterling heart.

But here she was, still chained in the blurred and dark past. Chained inside those blurred yet tormenting nine years during which the darkness seeped inside the deepest of her parts making her hollow.

Nothing was left for her except the blurred chains of past holding her down and captivating her inside their callignous web of pain and torment everyday till she couldn't breath, reducing her into nothing but a shell of her former self.

A dust crumbled under the shoes of her own husband.

He had truly bestowed her with the most lavish gifts in this universe. She thought bitterly.

His gifts. Her torment.

Humiliation, her clothing.

Tears, her jewellery.

Pain, her mirth of a happiness.

And a luxurious life, her cage.

The wind blew gently through the Rajput estate, yet something felt off.Aarunya sat in the study room, Aranya asleep in his pram beside her. She unfolded the note she’d found tucked inside the spine of a book in Trayaksh’s library. She had no idea who this person was and why they were offering help to her.Aarunya was suspicious but she still decided to play along, so that she could unwrap the mystery behind this person.Aarunya opened the note "If you truly want to know the truth of the Rajputs, go to the Old Rajput Mansion in Delhi. The walls there have secrets dug up inside them. The old mansion is the place where it all began.."- Your well-wisher.Her pulse quickened at that moment.Who was this person? And what would this person even achieve from all of this? One thing was clear. Whoever this person was, they knew things which Gargi was hiding. And Aarunya was ready to uncover it.The Old Rajput Mansion…She folded the note slowly and looked toward Aranya with a gentle smile.

The soft clink of porcelain echoed in the Rajput dining hall as the morning sun filtered through the embroidered silk curtains, painting golden patterns across the marble floors, giving a dreamy look to the whole mansion. It was a beautiful morning. But not all beautiful things were tolerant. At least not for Aarunya, especially when she looked at the face of her sinner everyday. Aarunya sat at the head of the table, regal in her mermaid strapped silk ivory dress. Her expression was calm, almost too calm like a serene lake that hid the ruins of a storm beneath its shiny surface.Trayaksh was beside her, gently feeding bits of mashed banana to their son Aranya. The sight would make anyone fall for the gentle looking man.Except Aarunya. For, she had already seen the monster behind his gentle smile. She watched them with a smile, but behind her eyes lived storms, ready to ruin, ready to destroy.“Aranya’s becoming more cute like you every day,” Trayaksh whispered with a soft smile.Sh

The night was painted in shadows as Aarunya stood at the balcony of her room, her eyes fixed on the moon above. She wasn't praying. She wasn’t admiring the moon either. She was calculating, planning, plotting her revenge. Each day brought her closer to her goal. Each night sharpened her resolve to destroy the people who wronged her.The words written in the letter from the anonymous sender still played inside her mind. She wondered if there were other dark shadows lurking around the haunted Rajput estate. She wondered what if Trayaksh wasn’t the only monster in the Rajput family. Her fingers closed into a fist, nails digging into her palm and the air behind her shifted to something more colder. She didn’t turn around. She already knew who it was.“Did you get it?” she asked, her voice filled with authority only a queen gets to speak with.“Yes,” said the voice. The same staff member she had recruited earlier. The one loyal to her, not by heart but by fear.Fear, a word enough to make

Sunlight crept into the room like a thief, golden and gentle, too gentle for the war that raged beneath Aarunya's heart.Aarunya blinked slowly, her lashes heavy with sleep she didn’t even remember falling into. She just fell asleep the previous night after tucking Arabya to his crib. The scent of jasmine still lingered on the bedsheets. A breeze passed through the half-open balcony door. And then came the soft knock. It was Trayaksh. He entered with a smile so soft, it could’ve melted any heart, if only it hadn’t once been used to mock her after everytime she was raped in the past.“Good morning, Ocean,” he said, his voice deep and warm, like a song he’d never known how to sing before. A song he was learning only for her.For Aarunya.Aarunya cringed from his voice but she covered her expressions. She sat up slowly, letting the silk bedsheet slip from her shoulder gently.“Good morning,” she replied, her voice honeyed soft.“I made you breakfast,” he beamed, placing the tray on her

The morning air was colder despite the summer sun. A strange stillness hung over the Rajput estate, it was not peaceful but the eerie calm before a huge storm. Aarunya adjusted the soft blanket over Aranya and walked out of the nursery, her mind already racing through her next plan. The letter from last night still haunted her not because of any fear, but because of its truth. There were secrets buried in the Rajput family. She was going to find them. And she was going to use them against the Rajputs. As she walked through the hallway, her footsteps light yet firm, a sudden sound made her pause in her tracks. “Bhabhi,” a soft voice called from behind. It was Taranya. Aarunya turned around, masking her wariness with a serene and soft smile. “Hmm?” Taranya stood with folded arms, her eyes sharp as if she was suspecting things. “Why did Chef Narayan leave?” she asked quietly. “And why are you changing all the staff suddenly?” Aarunya’s smile didn’t falter, but her fingers curle

A huge storm arrived making the trees swing, flowers sway and dark clouds gather around the Rajput estate. It rained heavily the whole night. The morning rays of sun finally passed through the curtains indicating that the storm had passed, but the silence it left behind was far more dangerous.Aarunya stood by the window of her room in the Rajput estate, her eyes resting on the swaying trees outside. The early morning sunlight painted golden patterns on the marble floor, but her mind was elsewhere, trapped in memories, in pain, and in plans she made to ruin, to destroy her destroyers.Aranya slept peacefully on the bed behind her, wrapped in the soft folds of a soft handmade quilt. His tiny fingers twitched in sweet dreams.A soft smile tugged at Aarunya's lips as she looked at her small baby bird sleeping peacefully. “Just some more time, my sweet angel. Then mommy will take her Aranya away from this hell of a place.” She whispered and pressed a soft kiss on the top of Aranya’s head
