Melody’s POV

Turning off the alarm, I crawled out of bed and headed for the shower, another steamy dream leaving me wanting. Normally I was up by three; at the bakery by four thirty, prepping for the day. It felt weird to be getting up so late on a Monday. After the cold shower, I went down stairs to the kitchen. I had prepped the dough for the donuts yesterday and had put it in the fridge to slowly rise for this morning. I cut and shaped them into various sizes; classic, twisted, and filled. I saved the holes from the classic to make some bites out of them.

I let them rest as I prepped the oil for frying. Once they were fried and the classic glazed while they were warm, I let the others cool off. The twists I dusted with cinnamon and sugar. The filled I put a vanilla custard in the center and topped them with leftover caramel icing from the cupcakes Saturday. After all was said and done, I had two dozen to bring with me to the pack house.

Alpha Scott was a great alpha, always encouraging his pack to start a business when they could. He was one of my main customers- stopping in for coffee and breakfast almost every Monday. I knew he probably wouldn’t be there today, especially since Mike and I were due to present the mate bond separation.

A mated pair could accidentally break a bond if they were not fated, and the one that they did form usually required an official break from an alpha; ensuring that no trace of it was left behind. Doing so though meant that the pair couldn’t mate again, effectively marking a divorce for werewolves and ensuring that if a fated mate were to come around the wolves could find each other.

It used to be in the olden days, alphas could use this power to force a mating. Usually it was the female refusing the male, so the alpha could force the issue at hand for arranged matings. Now since the dawn of the last century, women’s rights were more recognized. Some of the older generation still frowned at the idea of women having a say; but they were few and far between.

I boxed up the donuts and headed out. I would arrive just on time after cleaning up my kitchen. Arriving at the pack house on main street, I pulled into the parking lot. I could see a couple of cars there, Mike sitting in his truck, and a black Harley motorcycle. Mike got out once he saw me and started to walk over. He stopped dead in his tracks when I glared at him. Taking a second thought, he turned and headed to the pack house.

I got out of my suv while grabbing the box of donuts from the passenger seat, making it to the door just as Misses Craig opened it to Mike. The old lady had been the secretary for the alphas there for the last one hundred years, though her body still looked to be in her forties. The only indication of her age was the slight graying at her temple.

“Ah, Mister and Misses Swanson, please come in.” Misses Craig gestured down the hall. “Alpha Scott is in an impromptu meeting, but he is expecting you.” She led us to the doors of the office and stuck her head in. “Alpha, your ten o’clock.”

A muffled reply came from within. “He’s almost finished,” she turned and said to the pair.

“Here, these are for you all today.” I handed Misses Craig the boxes, who sniffed.

“I’ll never understand how you younger generation enjoy this sweet stuff.” She gingerly took the boxes from me, like they were a bomb about to go off. She then hurried to the kitchen, leaving Mike and me alone outside the office. As soon as she was around the corner, the office doors were pulled open. To my surprise, Teddy from Friday was on the other side. We both froze as we saw each other, neither expecting the other. Mike broke the trance between the two of us by gesturing for him to go on ahead.

Teddy slowly walked by me, and it was obvious he was checking me out. I rolled my eyes to myself, but couldn’t help taking a whiff of his scent as he walked by. I kept an eye on him as Misses Craig reappeared and ushered him to the front door. Mike went into the office first and I closed the doors behind us and joined Mike in sitting with Alpha Scott, both of them waiting on me. “Hello, Alpha.” I greeted him. “I brought donuts for you today.”

Alpha Scott visibly perked up at that, smiling brightly. “Thank Goddess, I wasn’t able to get my usual this morning.” He glanced down at his desk and winced. “But they’ll have to wait for now, I have a lot to go over with you two.”

Mike scoffed in his seat. “Trying to butter up the Alpha now? Pathetic.” Rolling his eyes, he continued. “Not even a hello to me?” He gave me a narrow glare, looking me up and down.

“Mike, you do not even deserve my time, let alone a good morning.” I glared right back at him, not one to back down. “I’m sorry to be rude, but can we hurry this along? The longer I sit next to him, the more ill I feel.”

Mike rolled his eyes again, turning back to the Alpha. “I agree with her, actually. If it wasn’t for her and her wily charms, I would be with my fated mate right now.”

“Wily charms? You both drugged me, you married me, and now I’m the home wrecker?” I was seething then, trying to stay calm. I had been staying calm all this week, trying to get Mike’s things out of the house and my life back together, and now he was pinning this all as my fault? I wanted to growl and snap at him; but I reminded myself to take a calming breath and not let Mike get under my skin. The sooner we got this over with, the better.

“Now, both of you simmer down!” Alpha Scott held his head and glared at us, letting his aura slip out to make us settle. “I don’t care if you lot bicker outside of here, but I will not have such disrespect in front of me.”

I hung my head, properly scolded. “I’m sorry Alpha.” And I meant it too, everything was just so overwhelming lately, it seemed like everything was coming to a point. Mike just rolled his eyes and looked ahead, never one to apologize for anything.

“Now then, let’s see…” Alpha Scott went through the papers on the desk, reading them over quickly. “The lawyer mentions here that you claim that Mike forged your signature on a loan from the human bank?” He raised an eyebrow at me, waiting.

“Yes, I never took out a loan on my business as him as a co-signer. I spent my inheritance getting it up and running, there was no way in hell I would do something so reckless with it.” When my father had died after my mother, the pack had released their assets and my inheritance to me. It wasn’t much, but it helped me put the downpayment on the building, plus I was constantly making profit each month, enough to keep in in the black and pay my bills.

My mom and dad were always passionate about me following my dream of becoming a chef, so much so that they had paid for all of my schooling. I almost shed a tear when I remembered getting the call about my mom during the internship while I was away with a chef in New York. I didn’t have a lot left from the both of them, but what they left behind was basically their gift to me for finishing my schooling.

“Alright, since you’re claiming that, we can’t officiate your official divorce through the human courts until next Monday at the soonest. The best I can do for now is to break the bond completely.” He stood up, indicating us to do so as well. “Do you, Mike Swanson, agree to break this bond, never to forge anew?”

“I do.” Mike looked bored with the whole thing, plucking at his nails as he answered.

“And do you Melody Swanson agree to break this bond, never to forge anew?”

“I do.” I shook my head in agreement, wanting this to be over and done with.

“Then may Nix bless this parting, and may you find peace in a true mate.” Alpha Scott made a slicing motion with his hand, going right in the middle of Mike and me. As soon as he stopped, it was like a huge weight had been lifted off of me, the final strings to Mike being completely severed.

“Thank Goddess.” I sighed under my breath, everything with this bastard was almost over and done with, and I would more than likely get to the bank on time to get my proof. “Thank you Alpha.”

“Is there anything else I have to do? I want my Tiffany to be mine after everything we’ve been through.” I rolled my eyes as Mike said that. I was over his theatrics.

“No,.. we just have a mountain of paperwork for you both to sign. Separation of pack pensions, 401k’s, and a few other things as well.” Scott nodded his head, indicating us to sit.

While we signed away, I thought back on everything Mike had put me through over the last couple of years, starting with my dad’s funeral; all of the missed birthdays and anniversaries, the late nights I had to put in at the bakery because he couldn’t be bothered, the lack of intimacy, everything.

I felt so blind and stupid for following him around like a lost puppy, never opening my eyes to the narcissist bastard that he was. I told myself then and there that I would never look another guy in the face again if this was what a mate bond brought about.. nothing but headaches.

Signing the last paper, I sighed and put down the pen. “Here you go, Alpha.” I sighed, relief that everything with Mike was almost over. I had never dreamed of cheating on him even once, so he and Tiffany could suck it for all I cared.

“It looks like everything is in order now, so you’re free to go.” He shooed us away with his hand, not in the mood for small talk anymore. Mike got up and left first, leaving me alone with Alpha Scott.

“Thank you for everything, Alpha Scott” I held out my hand to him, shaking his when he reached back.

“No problem Melody, I hate that you had to go through this; but shit happens.” He gave me a crooked grin and leaned forward. “I kind of hated him to begin with. He was a pain growing up to have around. You never know, maybe you’ll find your fated mate. I found mine and it makes the world of a difference.” He shook his head and became a little more serious. “I especially hate that this happened all close to your birthday too, it was a real dick move on Mike’s’ part.”

“Yes, it was, but everything will get better eventually… right?” I held up an eyebrow at him, not really expecting an answere.

“Goddess knows.” Mike shook his head and smiled as he shrugged. “And I hope we will see you during the black tie gala Thursday. There is something on your birthday I hope you can do.”

“What bake more cakes?” I smiled at him, picking up my purse to go.

“I can’t say anything yet, it’s a secret; but please really consider going, it would mean a lot to me and my fiancée.” He waved by as I got to the office door, sitting down to do more work. I wonder what the favor is? He had picked my interest, that was for sure.

I went to the front of the pack house, avoiding people bringing in vases of flowers and decorations for the week. I had heard some fancy party planner was coming tomorrow from Summer Paw, a pack down south, to coordinate everything that was going on. Misses Craig was nowhere to be seen, so I showed myself out. I decided that I needed a nap before going to the bank, I had time and I could stop by the bakery on the way there to check on Heather seeing as how it was her first time closing by herself.

When I got home I kicked off my flats and laid down on the couch, figuring that it wasn’t worth getting comfortable in bed right now since I needed to leave soon. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell into a deep sleep, dreaming.

“Hello, darling.” A voice purred from the darkness. “Don’t you look like a treat.”

I turned to the voice and sighed. “Oh, it’s you!” Teddy came forward into the light and winked.

His chest was bare and glistening. The same color of black hair dusted his defined chest like an inviting nest. A trail lead down from his belly button to his erect member.

“I was wondering when you would show up, I can’t wait to devour you.” Teddy stalked closer to me, making me blush with want. “Be a good girl and come here.” His warm and sexy voice purred into my ear from the distance, enticing me. I could hear the wolf just under the surface, calling to my own in a predatory way; promising pleasure and much more.

I slowly sauntered closer to him, and when I was just in reach, an arm reached out quickly grabbing me by the neck and drug me the rest of the way. He brought my face to his, the hand gentle and firm, holding me in place as he devoured and savored my mouth. His tongue snaked into mine, playing with mine, but demanding compliance. I gave in readily, savoring his smokey flavor.

His chest under mine felt like a nest of velvet. His abs pressed my breasts into peaks above them, the hair tickling my hardened nipples.

His member was firm and erect, pressing into my stomach, just below my belly button. I could feel the pulsing buzz, calling to me as I reached to grasp it firmly in my hand…

Melody’s POV I was aghast with myself; trying desperately to get my wolf back under control, but the animal side of me was not having it. It kept on licking and sniffing Teddy making him laugh. “Calm down, beautiful girl. I think your human side is angry with you.” His voice seemed to have some effect on my beast, soothing it. I was soon able to reel her in and take over, but when I did, I realized all of my clothing was shredded behind me. Ah dammit! Now what am I going to do? I couldn’t shift back naked in the middle of the city! I rooted around the pile of rags, looking for something wearable, but to no avail. “Can I help you, Melody?” Teddy reached toward me. I growled at his outstretched hand, making him hesitate. “I would never hurt you, beautiful.” I huffed in exasperation, hopefully he wouldn’t take advantage of me in this state. Rooting around again, I found my purse and nudged it to him. He got the message and picked it up. Looking around in it, he brought out my wal

Melody’s POV Bzzzzt Bzzzzt, I gasped awake, sweating all over. My phone vibrated in my hand; the alarm I set on my phone flashing one pm. Damn, I thought, that was hot. I never had a wet dream like that before, and definitely never had one about someone I had only met once. I stretched and put my shoes back on deciding to park back at the pack house and take a short walk to the bakery, the day was beautiful and I did not want to waste such nice weather being inside. When I arrived, the motorcycle was the only thing in the lot, everyone else more than likely going somewhere for lunch. Walking down to the bakery, I was hit with the smell of something enticing; stirring up my wolf and making her perk up. The wind was blowing from the bakery, a figure sitting down and eating something from a box. When I got closer, the smell hit me full blast, I could make out the facial features. “fuck.” I got out before chaos ensued. ***** Teddy’s POV I couldn’t believe my luck as I saw Melo

  • Bikers and Bakeries   Memories are Muffins

Melody’s POV I trotted up the steps of my house, and waited for Teddy. At least I knew a little bit about this male now, but I still didn’t like the fact that I had to rely on him right at this moment. I hated to admit it, but I secretly hoped that he saw me shift, if only to get a reaction from him, but he seemed to be the perfect gentleman. I thought I had smelled arousal on him for a second, but I could have been wrong. When he opened the door for me, I quickly made it inside and yipped at him, hopefully he got the message to stay. I looked around, making sure that the curtains were drawn tight, then shifted back into my human form. That was so embarrassing I thought to myself. I hadn’t lost full control of my wolf since I was ten. Most werewolf books I had read for humans were wrong in the department of werewolves getting their wolf at a certain age. We were always born with our wolf. It is a part of is, so it is always there. What triggers the shift usually is hormonal. Fo

  • Bikers and Bakeries   Motors and Macarons

Melody’s POV After everything I did for Mike, for him to pull this stunt really was the one thing that broke my heart. He knew how much the business meant to me, and to jeopardize it in such a fashion was really the last straw. I spent the rest of the day going through the house and getting the rest of Mike’s things, which wasn’t much after his clothing. It was like he just moved in and left things as they were, not even making his own mark. The only place that really was almost all his was the basement, where his home gym set up was. Movers came by at six that evening with a list from the lawyer what they would be taking and I directed them where to go. It took them two hours just to get the exercise machines from the basement. After all was said and done I was exhausted and worn out. I went to the living room and sat down on a wingback chair, snacking on some macarons from Monday. Looking back on everything, I should have saw the signs of M

  • Bikers and Bakeries   Court and Cupcakes Part 2

Melody’s POV “I told you the other day on the phone, stop calling me Babe.” I had requested mediated phone calls that week as I had gotten the layer to set up today for Mike to get his things. “You can come into the living room until the lawyer gets here; but that’s it” Mike huffed and shoved past me into the house. The living room was small, but cozy. One wall was covered in wooden bookshelves, and the other a fireplace with a television mounted above it. The third wall had a picture window that looked out at the street. Mike sat in the winged back chair and looked to me. “How has your week gone, Mells?” Mike attempted small talk, sensing the tension in the air. “Fine, except for the fact that my husband fucked who I thought was my best friend of three years.” I spit out husband like the word was poisoned. Mike flinched at the bite in my voice. “Erm, uh, well I’m happy to hear that you’re doing okey…” After another few minutes of both of us sitting i
