Chapter 14 - You are better than this

This is the most difficult situation Romeo has ever faced. If he chooses to save Maria, he and his men die and if he chooses his men and himself, then Maria does. Both options are impossible for him. Something must be wrong with Monalisa to make her put him into such a helpless situation, he thought. Maria means everything to him though their feeling for each other is not defined. He promised to protect her. But what about his men? He owes the same obligation to them. He will rather sacrifice his life than watch both parties get hurt.

He thinks of a way out of this situation. Maria, on the other hand, is battling with her guilt. The guilt of not heeding to the advice of Romeo, Acid, and Pluto. If she had heeded their advice and stayed back, things would have been easier for Romeo. To overcome her guilt, she chooses to face the consequence of her actions.

"Take the gun and do it, Romeo, save yourself and your men." She says boldly.
