"Are we going somewhere?" King's angry voice made me stop. I hugged Chris closer to me as if someone was going to snatch him from me anytime soon.

I was perplexed. This was supposed to be the perfect plan. I was supposed to escape with Chris without getting caught. That was why I had left home as early as this. I had packed my box immediately after King's left the previous night. I could barely sleep and I kept checking to see if Chris was still sleeping on his bed or if something had happened to him.
